And today we're reviewing the American Cold Weather Meal which is intended for cold weather feeding...

Well, friends, what's the main difference of this ration between standard American MREs?
Firstly, as I said, this ration is intended for cold weather conditions.
As a rule, Special Forces of US Army use this thing.
The main course is freeze-dried, and that's the main difference between this ration and standard American MRE.
These rations are 6 meals per box unlike standard MREs...

I think it would be better if they put a typical MRE meal in this ration...

…I noticed the thing that there is only one sugar sachet in American MREs...
...and there are 3-4 sachets in Russian IRPs at least, each one is 20 g, the American one is just 4 g.
And I have a question, will manufacturers strike the average balance, because 60 g of sugar is too much in one ration.
4 g of sugar in one ration is just not enough…
…so, I think some middle ground should be found. If you ask me, there should be 3 small sugar sachets at least, each one 5 g.
15 g is more than enough…
…for some reason I think it's enough even for 24-H ration.
Whatever, 20 g is maximum.
It's stupid to increase energy value of the ration with the aid of sugar! Honestly!

Just one water purification tablet is the only thing that I have never seen in American MREs.
That's the very necessary thing, especially for soldiers. I think it's just must be in this ration.
The ration deserves "B+"…
…but if we talk about the winter ration, for the cold climate, I can tell you that my rating is dropping quickly.
In my opinion, it's not Cold Weather Ration at all.
This meal is absolutely cold now.
If it was in the bag, it would be warm longer.
Half of these items...
...for example, the energy bar, you won't eat it when the temperature is 25 Cº [-13º F].
So, estimating this ration as winter one - it's only "C".
If we talk about typical single meal ration, it's "B+".
