Today I am visiting Hong Kong Disneyland and will give you both tips and advice on how to get the most out of your visit to this popular family destination.
Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau Island and I will show you how to get there from Hong Kong city.
Stay tuned and enjoy this first part of my visit to Hong Kong Disneyland.

Today I am visiting Hong Kong Disneyland and I will take the MTR train to get there.
I have to get from my hotel in the Jordan district to Disneyland on Lantau Island.
I got on the Tsuen Wan Line (Red line) at Jordan MTR station and went off at Lai King MTR station.
I changed MTR line to the Tung Chung MTR Line (Orange line) and took that to Sunny Bay MTR station, changed line again to the
Disneyland Resort Line (Pink line) that brought me all the way to Hong Kong Disneyland.
And of course, I used my Octopus card to pay for my ride with the MTR: Check out the link at the top right-hand corner for more info about the Octopus card.
It is yet another day with beautiful weather in Hong Kong and I am sure that I will have a great day even that I might be a bit too old for the Disney adventure.
The wagons on the Disneyland Resort Line even got windows shaped as the form as Mickey Mouse.
The Disneyland Resort line is 3.5 kilometers long and has a travel time of around 6 minutes. There are only two stations on this line, Sunny Bay and Disneyland Resort
And we have arrived at Hong Kong Disneyland.
And we are out on the Hong Kong Disneyland MTR Station and I can see there are some very anticipating faces among the visitors.
From here on it is not difficult to find the right way to the park. Just follow the crowd ;-)
You can get to Hong Kong Disneyland in multiple ways. The MTR is just one way. Do an online search and you will find the best way for you depending
on where you are staying in Hong Kong.
It is really easy to get to Disneyland and the MTR is a very good choice.
The MTR exit checkers. If you used your octopus card, just scan it as normal so that you will be charged the correct amount.
Tickets to Disneyland are picked up or sold closer to the actual entrance to the park.
You can save some money by buying your tickets through the Klook app or website. If you want to know more about it, you can click on the
link in the top right-hand corner. I will also put the link in the description below. Using the Klook app is very handy and you will save some money.
If you buy your tickets through the Klook app or website you can pick up the tickets in the booths closer to the entrance.
And I notice that I am getting closer to the actual park as the music is playing typical Disney music.
There are several ticket booths where you buy your tickets for the entrance. I picked up my ticket as I had bought mine at a reduced rate at Klook.
And after you have purchased or picked up your ticket it is just to go to the main entrance.
There are many friendly staff members standing by ready to assist.
And we are inside the park.
Be early at the park and it can be a good idea to plan your activities before you arrive.
Throughout the day more and more people arrive and the waiting lines are getting longer and longer.
Therefore it can be a good idea to get the most popular activities done early.
This is where the main street U.S.A section of the park starts with all its shops and old-style buildings.
I will first walk down along the main street to "The Hub" which is the center of the park.
Sorry about my finger on the side. It will go away soon. My camera is so small that I sometimes forget where I put my fingers.
I am now at "The Hub" and the different Disney "lands" are spread out around from here.
Mainstreet U.S.A is designed to resemble an early 20th-century Midwest town with many shops.
Adventureland featuring jungle-themed adventures
Grizzly Gulch reminiscing an abandoned mining town set amidst mountains and woods.
Mystic Point heart of a dense, uncharted rain forest where supernatural events take place
Toy Story Land based on the Disney·Pixar film series Toy Story
Fantasyland bringing to life characters and places from Disney's movies for children;
Tomorrowland an optimistic vision of the future.
Can you imagine working here and listen to that music 8-10 hours a day....... I bet some of the workers still hear that music after they get home...
Suddenly the castle did not look so big. It is all about illusions at Disneyland ;-)
I better choose a direction and start exploring before more people are coming to the park and start queuing up.
I will head into Adventureland to see if there is anything fun to do there.
Looks like an unlucky adventurer got stuck and forgot his boots ;-)
Looks like some sort of a boat trip and that can be a fun start.
Jungle River Cruise
The queue does not look bad now but wait until later when these queue lines are full of people.... then the real "fun" starts...
But that is something you just have to include in your planning when you visit a place like Disneyland.
And we go round and round and round and round...
And I am actually first in line in the English speaking line.
Ok ok...All the way to the front...
This is a good seat for whatever we might experience on this "Jungle tour" :-)
I am ready...
Go go go...
On the island, we can see Tarzan's Treehouse which you can be transported to on a raft. It is a separate attraction.
Well, that was interesting... I am sure the kids love it.
If there is one thing that there is no lack of at Disneyland, it is definitely stuffed dolls and animals and expect to leave with at least a couple...
Well, what can be next...
Sounds like I am moving into a different theme section...
Sounds like someone is having fun!
And I have arrived at the Grizzly Gulch which is an abandoned mining town set amidst mountains and woods
This must be the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars
The Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad runs 20 minutes rides around the park with two stops so that it can be used as transportation within the park.
Geyser Gulch with some Wild Wild (and Wet) West activities.
I will walk past the Geysir on the dry side... ;-)
Looks like a bit of a watery battle ahead... best to take a detour so that the cameras won't get wet...;,-)
There are many photo opportunities here in Grizzly Gulch if you like the wild wild west theme. For example the Jailhouse and the Assay office.
And you can buy some refreshments and some snacks.
The Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars are the main attraction in the Grizzly Gulch land.
Get your photo taken with some classy looking wild wild west ladies ;-)
I went on the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars with the plans of filming the ride but.... I was told that I could not film during the ride.
This was due to safety precautions and I can understand that so I am sorry that I can not offer you a taste of the ride.
So I will set the end to this first part of my video from Hong Kong Disneyland and hope that you enjoyed it. In the next couple of weeks the next episodes
will be posted on the "Happy and Away" YouTube channel so make sure that you subscribe and "Click the bell" next to the subscribe
button so that you will be notified when new videos are posted.
I will end this first part with a few samples from the next part from my Hong Kong Disneyland video.
