Everything you Ever Needed to Know about Wristlocks (Subtitles: Hit CC) - Duration: 8:28.
okay! Bending people's wrists! Because why would you ignore half a percent of the
human body? Some people get that joke.
Does anyone here know the wristlock? Any set up for a wristlock?
Something maybe they can show us?
*babble*
cross side
*Bart* What I like to do is isolate this palm and then
try to make it bend here. And sometimes they expect me to go like switch or to go under
So sometimes when they don't pay attention and when
they try to straighten the arm I can put my shin into it.
*David* Excellent. I like it!
No realli! She was Karving her initials on the møøse with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush
Awesome! Thankyou Bart
Anyone else got one to show?
Yeh? Marco!
*Marco* I mostly do it with the gi, but...
I get my lasso in here
*David* BOOM! nice :D
it's lasso guard
and if you don't get it you don't lose the position
Anyone got one more?
come show me
So I don't have to teach the class haha just get you guys to do it :p
See, he catches my wrist here in the armbar
the only way for me to defend this is to straighten my arm and give him the armbar
I'm defending....nice!
A little double attack there okay. So I'm hoping that some of you are starting to notice
is everything that happened there was all the same principles.
When we talk about a wrist lock it's either this one or it's this one
and they fulfill the same basic easy principles. so what I'm going to do
today is, I'm going to teach you how to fish instead of giving you seven wristlocks
and just saying do these when you're in that situation. By the end of
the class hopefully you're going to understand actually how to make your own
wristlocks, because they're everywhere... cross-side...guard...armbar
anytime I miss a submission I usually hit a wristlock. Anytime I'm passing I can
hit a wrist lock. Any time I'm escaping Guard I can hit a wristlock. Once you understand some
simple principles. So now I'll bring Bernd in. He's just going to kneel in front of
me and I'm just going to hold his arm. We're not going to talk about setups
just yet, we're going to talk about mechanics and principles okay and then
this class is going to be a little bit of a discovery class for yourself and
then we're going to bring you back we're going to see what we each discover
But it's dead simple...his forearm here...I put a bend in the wrist...
I block one end and I push the other and he taps.
OR...I put a bend in the wrist
and I block one end and I push the other and he taps.
That's it!!!
And it can be a push with my body, it can be a push with my arms, it's just
any kind of force. If Bernd lies down now I have a block on this elbow, which is
the floor, and I apply a pressure...simple! and the pressure could bend his wrist either direction,
it's all the same. Next time we come back I'm going to talk
a little bit about the mechanics of which direction I apply pressure when
it's being applied to the elbow but, this is the one we're going to start with.
we're gonna start with a bend and a block like this
That's it! Wristlocks are super simple. Don't complicate things! I'm going to
show you a twisting wrist lock later which is just for your interest. But standard
like gooseneck wrist locks are very very simple okay. I'm going to give you one to
have a little go at in case you haven't seen it. But I also want you to just play with this principle.
So as I demonstrate this I'm going to explain the principle
and then later you're gonna create some of your own wristlocks
So Bernd is in my guard...and the amount of times I get this wristlock is crazy.
okay Bernd's pretty good, he's got a nice posture.
His hands, his head, and his bum.
Make a triangle.
This is good posture.
If i try and bring him down now without clearing his hands it's no good
If I try and sit up it's no good. It's good posture okay. If ever his head comes over
his hands, now it's bad posture...it's very easy for me to collapse Bernd down.
But in that collapse there's a potential wristlock.
And usually you see this a lot in the gi
when the guy holds the belt or the pants down here
and his head is very close to being over the top of his hands
yeh this is exaggerated, but even here just a little pull
and now I bring him the rest of the way down.
And we can go Aleksei Oleinik ezekiel choke and stuff
But I can attack the wrist too. Here's the principle of the direction of force
Right now his wrist is bent... that's what we wanted first anyway
that's that first thing, bent wrist. What's blocking his hand?
*audience* your hip
My hip!
My hip is blocking his hand, so at the other end what do I need to do?
*audience* apply a force
Yes! Because his hand is already blocked he can't move away from the force.
If I pull here...
There's my wrist lock.
So I'm crunching him in with my legs and
I'm continuing to crunch and bringing his elbow to me.
Now as well as bringing the elbow to me
I'm also going to rotate it in a certain direction.
Because think about what I want to do in the extreme. In the extreme I want to
take his fingers and make them touch his forearm
so if I'm moving the other end and I pull in this direction it doesn't do that.
What I want to do is take his elbow in the direction of his fingers.
That's gonna close his wrist angle. That's when we get a proper break.
If his fingers were pointing forward, straight forward I would bring his elbow
straight to me. If they point out, that elbow has to come out.
And I'm kind of crunching into it just to help it along it's way and keep the hand trapped.
And then I use my legs when I really want to break him.
So this is a real nice one when people are getting lazy in your guard with their posture.
I just make sure this stays here, I sit up and I catch his elbow...bring him in and I start
to rotate his elbow in the direction of his fingers. Crunching in and puling in.
So blocked hand by my body. Force at the other end. Very simple okay.
So I want you guys to crack on with that. If you've seen that one have a little explore of
different positions using this principle. The principle of blocking an end, it can be either end,
and applying a force at the other end that we're not blocking. okay and the
same principles apply. If I'm pushing on the hand end I want to push the fingers
towards the forearm. I don't want to push in weird directions, I want to go straight down.
Thanks for watching! Love to you all :D

EXPERIENCE SAN FRANCISCO WITH US! Club Orange's first time in San Francisco!! - Duration: 7:52.
Hi teachers, I'm Rika!
And I'm Austin!
And we are here in San Francisco where the Headquarters are but, I don't know, I want
to do something fun today.
Ya we are kind of....
Lonely.
Not anymore!
We're in San Francisco!
So, yesterday was soo much fun!
We were really give a personalized tour, it almost felt like we had these awesome tour
guides, who were just showing us around the city.
I've never been to San Francisco before, and it's a cool city.
It's only when Nancy wants to get content that it actually stops.
So we are here at Blue Bottle which is a very well known coffee spot in San Francisco.
And we got... iced latte...
Iced Caffe Lattes with Almond Milk.
What's your first impressions of the San Francisco Coffee?
It's very beautiful and tastes really good actually!
It is good!
I really liked it when we went on the cable car that was super funny, I kind of got in
trouble for leaning out too far but...
We are in Chinatown, just passed the Dragon's Gate.
Rika!
Rika brought us to this great bakery, but unfortunately...
I know another bakery!
They have some left in there.
Y'all I can totally jimmy this door!
Probably my favorite moment of us walking around, we spent a lot of time walking through
the city and exploring different shops and having a lot of fun together and probably
my favorite moment was walking into a store and someone asking if we were sisters.
Now, these other ladies are blonde and two brunettes but we went with it and rolled with
it and said "ya, of course we are sisters" we just haven't seen each other.
Rika!
Where are we going?
We are trying to find a place for us to eat these amazing desserts.
You are going to edit until this right?
Let me do this, alright there we go.
Oooooh So there is the cookie dough one we wanted.
What are these ones?
Egg Tart and cheesecake.
This is what Rika wanted us to try.
How is the...
Good!
Is it good?
I'm not sure what this is...
My favorite was probably going to the pier.
We went to Pier 39.
Austin where are we now?
We are...
I think we can hear where we are.
Ya I think so, yes.
We are at Pier 39 where all these seals huddle together and hang out.
Seals?
I really liked going and seeing the seals, the smelly seals.
Do your best seal lion, They were super cute and they were knocking
each other off of the little platforms that they were on, even though there were definitely
enough platforms for all of them for some reason they would snuggle up and knock each
other off.
wait, so when we were up there, we did our best sea lion impression, and I filmed it.
So YOU three, did not get to do a sea lion impression.
IT'S Good.
Ok ready go!
Nancy?
I can't top that, We want some TPR with the seal sound.
We are really easily entertained but we stood and stared at those sea lions for like 20
minutes, and it was awesome.
I loved the carousel I thought that was a lot of fun.
We got a little bit dizzy...
Just the grown adults with no children... it's fine... it's fine.
It was really touristy but it was cool to see the fudge show!
Even though I had to wait forever for my fudge sample but that lady could sing!
Oh they really play!
They do?
You guys thought I was lying?
Back off!
Nope, come on guys.
It was really fun to be in San Francisco and see the office here.
Meeting all of these other people that I've talked to online countless times like other
people in Club Orange, and people at Head Quarters who are so cool in person.
The city is amazing, there are so many tourist attractions, but it's the people that are
special, and it's the people that I will remember from this trip.

Meghan Markle praised as 'great example for young girls' by US fashion designer - Duration: 1:59.
Brandon Maxwell, who is based in New York City, called Meghan Markle a "great example for young girls"
The mum-to-be first wore a mustard yellow dress from his collection in July last year
The 37-year-old was then pictured in his outfits during her first overseas royal engagement in Sydney, as well as a recent visit to the National Theatre in London
Sales have soared since Meghan took an interest in his label, but Mr Maxwell, who has also dressed former US First Lady Michelle Obama and Lady Gaga, preferred to focus on Meghan's charity work during a recent interview
He said to Vanity Fair this week: "The cornerstone of the brand, when I started it, was women like my mom, and when I'm able to dress women like that, it's really not about, does everyone love the dress? "Ultimately, I'm happy if Meghan wears our dress, but I'm happy if she wears any dress because it's the idea of what she's doing in that dress that excites me
"For me, I just think that I'm proud of that. And I think that Meghan Markle, in particular, is such a great example for young girls to see and I'm proud to be any part of her day, honestly
"There is a very common thread between every woman I've been fortunate enough to dress, I think they are good women, setting great examples, and ultimately inspired to help others
"Mr Maxwell is a big supporter of "strong women" after dedicating his runway show in New York to his mother this week
Pam Woolley bowed on the runway with her son, as the show highlighted her strength since being diagnosed with breast cancer last year
He spoke of her health struggles to The Associated Press, long with his "joy" at seeing so many high profile women wear his designs
He said: "It really is sort of the physical manifestation of, I think, the strength that I saw her display over the last few months
"When I see those women, they're wearing the clothes to do good things for others
"Any time I'm able to dress a woman like that and be part of her day, it's a blessed day for me
"
