USA news on Youtube Jun 1 2018

(upbeat music)

- Hello. My name is Jazzmyne,

and one of these people is about to become Feed Famous.

Last week, the competitors had to show us

their best unboxing photos.

Enthony crushed it by dressing up

like a little mermaid and did amazing.

He won the challenge for the week.

Unfortunately, Rosie didn't quite make the cut,

and we had to say goodbye to her.

Now, we're down to our top four competitors,

and here they are.

- Hi everyone. Vicky here.

- It's me again.

- Hey, it's Enthony.

- I am Oso.

Whole other week

that you gotta see my face.

- I cannot believe it's our third week already.

These past couple of weeks have been amazing.

I've had so much fun.

- Oh my God. I can't tell you guys how much fun I had

doing our unboxing challenge.

I'm loving not knowing what's coming next,

and I'm just having a good time.

- The unboxing challenge,

it was hard because I couldn't get my idea down

and it was hard trying to incorporate

all the things into one photo.

So I'm just going to go into this week how I been going in,

like literally going in.

- So with challenge number two,

I thought it was a lot better

than I did with my first week challenge.

I'm ready to just give it my all this week.

Looking forward to know what this challenge is.

Alright.

- Okay. Bye.

- Besitos. Mwah!

- Now, let's meet our celeb guest judge for the week.

Not only does she have over 600,000 Instagram followers,

she has her own swimwear line

and co-founded a plus size brand called Premme,

which we are both wearing today.

Let's welcome Gabi Fresh.

- Hi.

- Yes. Thank you so much for being here.

- Oh my God, thanks for having me. I'm excited.

- Yes, thanks for this outfit too.

- You look so good in it.

I'm so excited.

Spring, girl, spring.

It's happening.

- This week's challenge was our #notsponsored challenge.

This is what we sent the competitors.

- Hello competitors,

and welcome to this week's challenge video.

(laughs)

You've probably seen a whole bunch of people selling

a bunch of random (bleep) all over your feeds.

Weight-loss tea, make-up,

teeth-whitening, clothes.

Literally anything.

Brand partnerships are essential

to being a social media star

because let's be real, we gotta make our money.

This week your challenge is #notsponsered.

You're going to have to make

a fake hashtag ad about

toilet paper.

Now you need to sell me this (bleep) toilet paper.

Why do I want it?

Why do I need it?

Why do I have to have this in my life?

Not only will you be sending me

a pic modeling the toilet paper,

but I also need a video of your #ad.

You are all being sent the same script

and you have to say it in one take.

(claps)

We know that money makes the feed go 'round,

so let's try to be as natural as we can in these ads.

And remember, you can only use your phones.

(laughs)

I'm done.

- That video is amazing, number one.

Toilet paper, interesting choice.

- Yeah!

I wanted you here in the first place

because not only are you you,

but you have brands behind you.

- Definitely.

- You have Premme, you have your swimsuit line,

so you're used to having to, at least, sell things.

- For sure.

- But also, be yourself.

- I think that's the main part of doing sponsorships

is making sure you still have your integrity

and are yourself and are casual

and people can still connect with you

and it doesn't feel like a commercial.

- I'm hoping our contestants can bring that.

So this week we're judging our competitors

on three categories:

composition, authenticity, and feed-worthiness.

Composition is going to be like technical,

like framing.

Even though it's one take, - How it looks.

- did they use good lighting? - Right.

- Authenticity is gonna be that are they staying themselves.

- Totally.

- And then feed-worthiness, would we buy into this?

Would we scroll past this?

- Got it.

I think all three of those things

kinda play into each other too.

If you have great composition and authenticity,

you're gonna get that double-tap.

- Exactly. - Right?

I think authenticity, though, is the thing

I'm looking for the most.

- Our first competitor this week

that we're gonna watch is Oso.

Oso, last week, almost won,

missed it by a hair,

but has sent some pretty authentic, very himself pictures.

So I'm hoping that's what we're going to get this week too.

- Great.

- Let's see.

- (beatboxing) I made it through.

I made it through.

I'm so happy. This week is the not sponsored challenge.

Memorizing lines, I'm good.

One take, y'all playin' with me.

(laughs)

Really don't know what I'm gonna be doing

with this toilet paper.

We couldn't sell salt?

I coulda been salt bae.

Like, like!

Toilet paper?

Mother Jazz is not playin'.

No, she's not.

But you know what? Joke's on y'all, 'cause I'm ready.

Ready.

Hands down.

Imma try to kill it.

Toilet paper's a basic necessity,

but when you're Feed Famous,

nothing in your life can be basic.

That's why I use Toilette Papier.

It's versatile, fun, and glam.

No social media star should have to use anything

that isn't bold and luxurious.

That's why I can't live without my Toilette.

- [Jazzmyne] Ooo. - [Gabi] Oh my God.

- [Jazzmyne] I like that picture.

- Glam.

- Yes.

- I kind of loved it.

- I kind of did too.

- [Gabi] He was back-lit the whole time,

which I didn't love,

but also, that made it a little more realistic

and a little more authentic, 'cause it looks real,

like he was just hanging out in his bathroom.

- [Jazzmyne] I agree.

- So in some ways,

I think that actually connects better to the audience.

- Yes, composition wise, like you said,

I think it could've been lit a little bit better.

- [Gabi] Definitely.

- But I do like his one angle, go to the second angle.

- [Gabi] Yeah, I love that little turn.

- [Jazzmyne] Yeah. - [Gabi] That was great.

- [Jazzmyne] That was cute on the little throw.

- It gave it some movement, it felt realistic.

- Yeah, instead of just being like,

- Still.

- go ahead and say something. - Right.

- Authenticity.

- I mean this is my first time seeing Oso,

but he seems super authentic

and that, to me, is what really intrigued me

and made me wanna buy what he was selling.

- Yes. I loved it. I loved it a lot.

And then Feed-worthiness.

I think I would honestly buy it

because I loved his authenticity so much.

- [Gabi] Yeah, I love the sunglasses.

And he's wearing the sunglasses

and the toilet paper is wearing the sunglasses, hilarious.

- [Jazzmyne] Yes.

- But I do feel like it's a little too over-produced,

and I think when you overproduce,

and you have something sponsored

it just reads as too corporate.

- You're right. That's why you do this.

- I try.

- Now, we have Victoria.

Victoria won our challenge number one.

- [Gabi] Okay.

- [Jazzmyne] And then the second challenge,

she did decently.

Victoria always brings it, though.

So I'm hoping she went over and beyond.

- Awesome.

- Let's see.

- Hello everyone. Vicki here.

This week our challenge is

(imitates drum roll)

#notsponsored.

I was feeling very confident, very excited,

and then I watched the video and I was like, oh my God,

I'm selling toilet paper, you guys.

Why, why?

Out of all things.

How, how am I going to sell toilet paper?

Oh my God, toilet paper.

I think this is the hardest challenge yet.

I am not excited.

I think that the best thing I can do

is create a dress or a skirt with the toilet paper.

(gasps)

I'm selling toilet paper, but I'm also selling fashion.

I have to find a location

to shoot it in

that screams glamour.

My focus now, it's to try to make it

as Vicky as possible.

- Wow, I'm already shook.

- I love it.

(glam music)

- Toilet paper is a basic necessity,

but when you're Feed Famous,

nothing in your life

(Jazzmyne gasps) can be basic.

(Gabi laughs)

That's why I use Toilette Papier.

It's versatile, (lady sneezes)

it's fun,

and it's glam.

No social media star should have to use anything

that isn't bold and luxurious.

That's why I can't live without my Toilette.

- [Jazzmyne] Wow.

(Gabi laughs)

- [Gabi] That was kind of mind blowing.

That was so creative to make it into a dress.

That was a really great way to make it cool.

- [Jazzmyne] And if you notice, in the video,

she had two that were bedazzled,

- [Gabi] Oh my God.

- [Jazzmyne] Which mean she had to bedazzle

- I love it.

- [Jazzmyne] two rolls of toilet paper.

- She definitely put some work into that video, for sure.

- Alright, composition wise.

The fact that she's in public doing this stuff.

I get nervous like taking pictures.

- [Gabi] But you need that.

As an influencer, you need to have the bravery to do that

- [Jazzmyne] Exactly.

- [Gabi] because it's part of the job.

- [Jazzmyne] Yeah.

The only little criticism I would give is

I wish it was more of a quieter place,

so I could hear her more.

- Agreed. The sound wasn't great.

- Authenticity.

It's weird because she was playing someone else.

- That was the hard part for me.

- Yeah.

- I do feel, like, as long as it reads

as kind of ironic and funny,

- [Jazzmyne] Exactly.

- then it works.

- [Jazzmyne] And I really like the fact

that she's selling something as basic as toilet paper,

and she took took it glam.

- [Gabi] Totally, she took it there.

- Feed worthiness. I would definitely save this

or I would definitely like it.

- I would probably send it to a few friends.

Look at what this girl did with toilet paper.

- [Jazzmyne] Look at her! - [Gabi] Yeah.

- [Jazzmyne] She made a dress.

- [Gabi] Insane.

- [Jazzmyne] Out of toilet paper.

- [Gabi] Right?

- [Jazzmyne] And it looked good.

- It looked so good.

- Wow.

Next is Divinity.

Last week, Divinity had a beautiful picture

near a water fountain.

And Divinity is also very herself,

very vulnerable, but strong at the same time.

- [Gabi] Love that.

- So I'm excited to see what she brings.

- Great.

- Hello everybody.

This is the #unsponsored challenge

'cause we ain't getting paid to do this in real life y'all.

And only do we have to shoot a video,

but we have to do a video in just one take.

(sighs) I am very nervous.

I'm the queen of a thousand takes,

like right now, I'm already on take 225.

(bleep)

I feel attacked right now.

I fumble over my words all the time.

My momma shouldn't have made--

See, this what I'm talking about.

I read somewhere if you write something down,

you're more likely to remember it.

Toilet paper

is a basic necessity.

I am very excited.

(laughs)

I feel like, it is a chance to--

- Wait. - Oh.

- I'm obsessed with her.

- Do on camera,

or show how I really can't do on camera.

It's like Russian Roulette right now.

I'm officially nervous for this one.

(upbeat music)

Toilet paper is a basic necessity.

But when you're Feed Famous,

nothing in your life can be basic.

That's why I use Toilette Papier.

It's versatile, it's fun, it's glam.

No social media star should ever have to use anything

that's not bold and luxurious.

That's why I can't live without my Toilet Paper.

- First of all, I'm not over how gorgeous she is.

- She's beautiful.

- I mean.

You know what I'm sad about

- Yeah.

- [Gabi] is her intro video was so funny,

- Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- and so authentic, and so good,

and I was so excited to see her actual sponsor video,

and then it fell flat for me.

- I agree, I was a little underwhelmed.

Composition wise, the lighting was great.

It was just a basic one wide shot.

- I mean, I thought it was good.

It looked well done, and it looked very familiar.

It looked like most YouTube videos,

- [Jazzmyne] I agree.

- which I think is actually a good thing.

But again, it wasn't anything special.

- Yeah, I agree.

When it comes to authenticity,

it was hard because I think she's more fun than that.

- [Gabi] It just felt very sponsored,

which is what we're trying to get away from, right?

- Honestly.

For feed worthiness, I think it was just okay.

I honestly feel like Divinity, herself,

would delete this later.

- Right?

- [Jazzmyne] It's one of those posts.

- I really, really, really connected with her,

and then I was so disappointed in her video.

I think I would just scroll past.

- Our last competitor of the day is Enthony.

He won last week's challenge.

- [Gabi] Oh, cool.

- [Jazzmyne] Turned himself into

a beautiful mermaid goddess.

- [Gabi] What?

- Yes.

I am really having a lot of high hopes for Enthony.

- I was gonna say,

I have high expectations now, so hopefully he brings it.

- Let's hope.

- Hey, it's Enthony, and its the nonsponsor challenge

and live from my bathroom stall.

I'm going to go into this challenge really stoked,

really happy, you know?

And try to step outside the box.

Try to push myself even further.

So I'm really confident--

- Yes.

- Oh.

- trying to sell something, but I'm really not confident

in trying to say it in all in one take.

I know it's going to take awhile.

It's kinda like muscle memory,

but with the head, so memorizing it basically.

Imma add some spice and try to make it my own,

but I'm confident slash anxious, so.

Toilette Papier.

(laughs)

- Wait, love him. - I'm already done.

- Girl, my (beep) is glued to this toilet seat.

I don't know, you were the one that said

that you wanted to get spicy food (bleep).

Girl, let me call you back.

I said, "Let me call you back."

Hi.

Hello, it's me again.

You know just sitting here cleaning out my insides--

- This is not the script.

- I love it.

- Talk about what you're doing wrong.

And no, it's not your eyebrows this time.

It's about toilet paper.

You know, toilet paper is a basic necessity,

but when you're Feed Famous,

nothing in your life can be basic.

That's why I use

Toilette Papier.

Excuse me while I freshen up.

- I can't handle him.

- I would die.

He's actually literally wiping.

- It's versatile, fun, and glam like me.

Not the versatile part, but you know (mumbles).

(spraying)

No social media star should have to use anything

that isn't bold and luxurious.

That's why I can't live without my Toilette Papier.

I'd love for you to stay and chat

but I've got some cleaning up to do.

So choose Toilette Papier,

it cleans your (bleep), so you can be the (bleep).

- [Gabi] Wait, I'm dead.

- [Jazzmyne] Oh my gosh. - [Gabi] Dead.

- I feel like that's so on brand for him.

- It's amazing.

- I feel like it was 100% him, even though it wasn't him.

- You could tell.

I just love that he was the first influencer

to really embrace the challenge

and make toilet paper what it is.

I thought it was hilarious,

- [Jazzmyne] I agree.

- [Gabi] but also he elevated it to make it funny and cool.

- I totally agree.

Composition wise.

It's funny because he was so made up,

but I feel like everything around him,

being natural lighting,

it worked. - It worked, yeah.

- When it comes to authenticity, that was him ,100%.

- [Gabi] I mean 100%.

I don't even know him,

but I could tell that was him.

- [Jazzmyne] Yeah.

- [Gabi] He was performing,

but in a self-aware way to make it funny.

The only thing I didn't love was

that he was literally using tissue and not toilet paper.

- It was weird, but I was still, like, okay.

- Yeah, you know, the one thing that kind of detracting.

- I agree.

Feed-worthiness.

- [Gabi] Yes. Sucks everybody.

- [Jazzmyne] Like it, buy it, take it.

- [Gabi] Would buy. - [Jazzmyne] Give me it all.

- [Gabi] Would send to my friends. Would double-tap.

- [Jazzmyne] Yep. - [Gabi] Hilarious.

- It was beautiful.

- Yeah, that was great.

- Everyone really brought it this week.

- Totally.

- It made me so happy.

But unfortunately, we need to pick out who's the winner

and who's being kicked off the Feed.

So our first person is Enthony.

Enthony killed it this week.

- I just really loved how he took the challenge seriously,

but also made it light-hearted and fun.

He was the only one to actually be in a bathroom

and using the actual product,

which I actually think worked.

- And added his own script. - Yeah.

Exactly, he embellished the script and made it more funny.

Like, it just worked.

- It was great. It was great.

Divinity's.

She looks beautiful.

She looks beautiful in the whole thing,

but it just fell a little bit short.

- Yeah, the actual challenge, which was about

sponsorship and selling something, it didn't work for me.

- Yeah.

Okay, so Victoria.

- So good.

- She put herself out there.

She was in public in toilet paper.

- [Gabi] In toilet paper.

It takes a lot to do that. - [Jazzmyne] Yeah.

- [Gabi] Someone who just poses in normal clothes,

I can't imagine what it was like

posing in a toilet paper gown.

- Oso's was in between to me of being authentic,

- [Gabi] Same.

- but being a little bit too commercially, for me.

- Yeah, it was a little tongue-in-cheek, which I liked.

And it translated, but then it, kind of,

crossed over sometimes into too salesman, right?

- Yeah, yeah.

Not the strongest.

I think he's in the lower half of our top four.

So our top two, Enthony and Victoria.

I really love what Victoria did,

- Definitely.

- [Jazzmyne] but I know you have

strong feelings for Enthony.

- I mean, I just really love how authentic he came off

and the fact that he embraced the challenge so much.

- Mmhm.

- Victoria was great too, though.

I don't know, I'm on the fence.

- Looking at everything as a whole,

I think we know who the winner is

and who's being kicked off the Feed.

(phone rings)

- Hi, Enthony. - Hi, ladies.

- Hi.

- I'm here with Gabi Fresh.

She's amazing. - How are you?

- Hi, how's it going?

- So, we were just calling to talk about your ad.

You did everything really, really great,

but you also went off the script a little bit.

You fully wiped your (bleep) on camera.

It was very interesting coming from a brands point of view.

We wanted to let you know that you won this week.

- So good. (laughs)

Twice in a row, right?

- Yeah, two weeks in a row.

- Oh, girl, you know.

Two times or whatever.

(laughs)

- You did so good. - [Gabi] We loved it.

- Congratulations. - Congratulations.

- Thank you.

- See you later.

- Bye. - Bye.

- He was so happy, I'm excited.

- I mean, so cute.

I love the little twist you did.

We tried to pretend like we, you know.

- But unfortunately,

we know who's being kicked off the Feed.

- I'm so scared of this part.

- I know, it's time to call them.

- Okay.

(phone rings)

- Hi.

- Hey Divinity. How are you?

- I'm good. How are you?

- Good. I'm here with Gabi.

- Hi.

- Gabi Fresh.

- Hi.

- You look gorgeous. - Always.

- Thank you.

- Glowing.

- So we were calling to talk to you

about the not sponsor challenge.

I know you've been working your (bleep) off,

and everything turned out well,

but it just fell a tiny, tiny bit short this week.

Unfortunately, you won't be moving on to next week.

I'm so sorry, girl.

- We love you.

- Oh, it's okay. Thank you.

I was really happy for the opportunity

to be in the competition at all.

- No, of course, and honestly,

you're one of the people in this competition

that I think is definitely a trend setter.

- Your wigs are everything.

The gray one, I died.

- Girl, soon, you'll be able to buy them from me, okay?

(laughs)

- You look so good and you're so positive

and a really great presence,

and I'm excited that the world

is going to get to meet you through this show.

- Thank you guys so much, thank you.

- Of course. Thank you so much girl.

- I really appreciate it.

- Bye.

- Bye.

- That was our #notsponsored challenge.

Gabi, thank you so much for being here.

- Thanks for having me, that was so fun.

- Yes, you've helped so much.

- I mean, I try.

- Of course, always.

Thanks for tuning in to this week's episode of Feed Famous.

If you wanna try our challenge this week, #notsponsored,

Dr. Hill Discusses the 2018 Father's Day Collection - Duration: 3:26.

- Hi everyone, Dr. Hill.

I'm excited to have a few minutes with you

to talk about a brand new product line

that we have called Amavi.

Now you might be saying, Avavi, what's Amavi?

Well, there's a very special day that's shortly

to come to pass.

It's one of my favorite days of the year

because it's the day that I get spoiled

by everyone who cares about me.

It's Father's Day

and for the first time

doTERRA's created a trio of products

that's going to be an LTO for Father's Day.

So let me take just a brief minute

and explain to you about these three wonderful

new products that you're gonna have available to you.

The first is this beautiful oil blend.

Now one of the things I like about this oil blend

is it has this very deep and rich aroma.

It's very powerful.

It's soothing and it's very calming.

It's relaxing to the body.

It's also unique because we have some oils

that typically we wouldn't source

or we wouldn't use but for this very special blend

we have.

Oils like Buddha wood, for example

has a very deep and warm aroma

and something that is also very soothing

and moisturizing and helpful to the skin.

So I like using this on a daily basis

and it's one of my new favorite oils.

Now I will tell you,

one of the things that everybody

is immediately gonna say,

so this is only for fathers.

But, I'm not gonna say that that's the case,

because around my home, my wife takes all of these

and uses them as well.

And so this is really an aroma that is for everyone

but I think men are especially going to enjoy this.

Now we also have in association with that

a couple of other products.

One is, and I'm really excited about this one,

finally, an aftershave lotion.

Now it's called a lotion for a reason

because it is a great moisturizer for the skin.

In fact, you should be using this

whether you use it as an aftershave or not.

This is a great product to use just for skin care

in general because it is such a heavy moisturizer.

Now some of the oils that we have in this,

we've got Buddha wood, we've got balsam fir,

we've got tea tree oil, we've got litsea.

So very penetrating to the skin but also very soothing.

But the perfect product to use after shaving,

apply the aftershave lotion.

Or, use it every morning and every night.

Again, something that I'm sure everyone will really enjoy.

Now the last product that we have,

and this is actually an interesting product.

It's an artisanal African soap

and this has balance essential oil in it.

So all of these products tied together are very,

you can see, very calming and very soothing.

But it also has this beautiful, rich aroma

associated with it.

It has a lot of of additional moisturizers.

So we have shea butter, it has coconut oil

associated with it.

So very soothing and very moisturizing.

A lot of people is we've introduced this

and we've been trying it here around the office,

we're actually using this to shave with

and then they're using this product

after they shave for the aftershave lotion

and moisturizer.

All three of these are great and wonderful products.

I'm confident that you're going to love them

as much as we do.

Look for these to come to you and be available

very, very soon.

Thank you everyone.

Have a wonderful Father's Day.

was in full control of the suburbs around Damascus for the first time in

seven years . the Syrian army is now preparing for an offensive to take back

control of parts of Southwest Syria bordering Israel and Jordan that are

still under rebel control one of three significant areas outside the

government's grip Israel has warned it will not tolerate having Iranian

advisers and the Shiite militias they support move close to its border the

british-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights which looks over

developments in the war said Iranian advisers and allied Hezbollah fighters

are preparing to leave the area this is apparently under the terms of a deal

being negotiated by Russia and Israel for Iranian backed forces to pull back

and prevent a bigger conflict dot there has been no confirmation of a deal

between Russia Israel and Iran however mr. Assad declined to say how much

longer the war will continue but said he intends to bring all parts of the

country back under his control he said we're going to liberate every

area it is impossible for us to leave any area outside of government control

Trump Had a Surprise Waiting For CNN When They Tried To Enter The White House Today – PRICELESS! - Duration: 6:58.

Trump Had a Surprise Waiting For CNN When They Tried To Enter The White House Today

– PRICELESS!

One of the well-known journalists from CNN got quite a surprise as he arrived at the

White House.

Anyone who may have seen this probably had quite a laugh as they witnessed the power

of Trump and the little surprise that may or may not have been planned.

Most likely not planned at all, but this sure caught CNN's Jim Acosta off-guard.

He was caught on camera having a meltdown when the White House Secret Service failed

to recognize him as he tried to enter the White House yesterday.

Michael J. Morrison, who posted the video confirmed that Acosta was having a meltdown

when the Secret Service stopped him after he had walked from the South Lawn into the

White House without wearing his credentials around his neck.

Sadly Morrison said that by the time he was able to get his camera out and start recording

that Acosta was already cooling off.

Clearly defeated, as Acosta left he said: "I have been here 5 years and no one said

anything to me before."

As reported on National Review, Acosta has a history of odd behavior:

"Jim Acosta, CNN's White House correspondent, has been having a public meltdown regarding

the president's treatment of the media, and the Washington Post has noticed.

The Post's media reporter, Paul Farhi, launched an inquiry into Acosta's "grandstanding"

in a piece in Sunday's style section.

"Acosta's remarks aren't just blunt; they're unusual.

Reporters are supposed to report, not opine," wrote Farhi.

"Yet Acosta's disdain has flowed openly, raising a question about how far a reporter

— supposedly a neutral arbiter of facts, not a commenter on them — can and should

go."

While CNN host Brian Stelter's 15-minute monologues moaning about Trump's treatment

of the press are run-of-the-mill for cable-news pundits, Acosta's public displays of resistance

in the White House press-briefing room break all precedent.

Rather than press Sean Spicer or Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Trump's agenda, Acosta has spent

since roughly last February focusing on how the White House conducts its press briefings

and how it treats CNN.

Acosta's repeated badgering of Spicer to hold on-camera briefings creates clip-worthy

scenes, which feel like a bold defense of journalism, even though, given the nature

of White House press briefings, they do not actually matter much.

Briefings say most about a president's communications angle, and seeing as Trump seems not to have

any clear communications strategy or message beyond his Twitter feed, the briefing has

become little more than a charade.

That has not stopped Acosta from tweeting out photos of his socks at non-televised briefings

("I can't show you a picture of Sean.

So here is a look at some new socks I bought over the wknd"), changing his Twitter bio

to "I believe in #realnews," and lambasting an "erosion of our freedoms" at every

possible television appearance.

Of course, CNN has been goading this inanity at every point of his performance, no doubt

because this "feud" between CNN and the White House generates so many views.

While Trump's communications team has haplessly attempted to cling to #EnergyWeek and #InfrastructureWeek

as the media cares only about Russia, CNN has sent its Supreme Court sketch artist to

the briefings at which cameras are prohibited.

After all, nothing stands more in the way of democracy than not knowing what color tie

Sean Spicer chose on a given day.

But of course, if Acosta has legitimate concerns with Trump's policy and politics, it makes

sense that he would clamor for direct access.

For the sake of fairness, let's go through Acosta's journalistic highlights since the

ascent of Trump.

While the rest of CNN's reporters were presumably licking their wounds and listening to some

spoken-word poetry following Trump's victory, Acosta broke out some of the network's hardest-hitting

reporting, booking reservations at the Michelin-starred Jean Georges restaurant to stalk the then-president-elect

at dinner with Reince Priebus and rumored secretary of state candidate Mitt Romney.

At least 20 feet away from the dinner, Acosta live-tweeted all sorts of juicy scoops, such

as "Trump crossing his arms for a good while now as Romney smiles and speaks" and "Fresh

marshmallows are prepared as Trump, Romney, and Priebus dine."

Acosta was promptly "#busted" — yes, that's a direct quote from Acosta's tweets

— when Trump approached Acosta, but that didn't stop him from reporting later that

"Trump, Romney, and Priebus have moved on to dessert."

In June, Acosta was quick to quote an anonymous White House official, claiming that Trump

did not meet with Representative Steve Scalise following the s******g at Alexandria.

Fewer than 30 minutes later, Acosta debunked his own false claim, which had presumably

come from a made-up or unreliable source.

Last Thursday, Acosta perpetuated the New York Times' erroneous assertion that 17

intelligence agencies have claimed that Russia meddled in the 2016 elections (in fact, it

was four), but not before calling Trump's joint news conference in Poland a "fake

news conference" for taking a question from a Daily Mail reporter who is "essentially

an ally of the White House."

Never mind that Trump also called on MSNBC's Hallie Jackson at the conference.

(Jackson called on Trump to formally acknowledge that Russia interfered in the election.

Trump said that it might be Russia and then deflected to "But Obama" and a strange

aside about Iraq's nonexistent weapons of mass destruction.)

Perhaps Acosta's complaints would be more valid if he agitated for the rights of any

other news organizations.

Instead, his complaining revolves solely around Trump and CNN, obsessing over this relationship

rather than what the government is actually doing.

Furthermore, Trump's antipathy to the media is not exactly unprecedented.

Throughout his presidency, Obama openly and repeatedly derided Fox News's "destructive

viewpoint."

Less than a year into his presidency, Obama's communications director, Anita Dunn, told

the New York Times, "We're going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent."

"Attacking the news media is a time-honored White House tactic, but to an unusual degree,

the Obama administration has narrowed its sights to one specific organization, the Fox

News Channel, calling it, in essence, part of the political opposition," wrote the

Times.

"But shots are still being fired, which animates the idea that both sides see benefits

in the feud."
