A Deep State Leaker Went On The Radio And Implicated Obama In This Massive Scandal
Barack Obama's Deep State is beginning to fracture.
One insider is beginning to spill the beans on some of its most closely guarded secrets.
A Deep State leaker went on the radio and implicated the Obama administration in this
massive scandal.
Last year it was revealed that the Obama administration was abusing its authority in unmasking American
citizens.
United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power put in 260 unmasking requests, which Trump supporters
saw as her way to reveal the names so operatives in the Deep State could leak them to the press.
When American citizens are caught on wiretaps the government has placed on foreign nationals,
the citizen's name is redacted in the transcript in order to protect their privacy.
Authorized government officials do have the right to submit a request to "unmask"
the American citizens.
But, typically, this is done to better understand the context of the conversation picked up
on the surveillance.
It is a felony punishable up to ten years in prison to leak the fact that an American
was caught on one of these wiretaps.
So it raised red flags when a UN Ambassador submitted an outrageous number of requests.
Power was forced to testify in front of Congress last fall about her actions and she claimed
someone else was putting in the unmasking requests in her name.
This startling revelation meant the scandal could be even worse because it shows that
the Obama administration had no control over the flow of classified information.
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was interviewed by conservative radio
host Hugh Hewitt who grilled him about Power's conduct and her Congressional testimony.
When asked if it bothered him, Clapper answered, "Yeah, it would."
Clapper continued on: "I don't know quite how that would happen, you know, because the
only way you can make an unmasking request is that you have authorized access to the
report in question in the first place.
So I don't know how that, quite how that would work."
Clapper's answer amounted to calling Power a liar.
The scandal exploded when an Obama administration official leaked the fact that during the transition,
incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was picked up on a wiretap speaking
to the Russian Ambassador.
Pundits speculated Flynn was cautioning Russia not to overreact to sanctions put in place
by the Obama administration over alleged election meddling.
This was perfectly legal – and it would be expected that the incoming national security
advisor would communicate with his peers in other countries – but the media conjured
a fake scandal about the Trump administration weakening the sanctions because of collusion
in the election.
Flynn was forced to resign, but the scandal only got worse.
Trump supporters point to the number of requests made by Power – Clapper himself said he
only made a few every couple of weeks – as evidence someone wanted the Trump aides'
information available for Deep State operatives to leak to the press.
