They formally filed Articles of Impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
These Articles of Impeachment weren't just whipped up together overnight.
They have been drafted over months and were cleared by the parliamentarian.
And every single charge against Rosenstein is true.
The Articles of Impeachment have now been filed.
Conservatives in the Freedom Caucus are defying Paul Ryan and moving to remove this Deep State
criminal from office.

The resolution is extremely thorough and details all of the high crimes and misdemeanors committed
by Rosenstein.
Article 1: Despite an abundance of evidence proving that Hillary Clinton, members of her
campaign, and Obama administration officials broke the law and conspired to let the Clintons
off the hook, Rod Rosenstein has refused to appoint a second Special Prosecutor to investigate.
Even when Robert Mueller had the opportunity to charge Clinton campaign members with crimes,
he has instead chosen to grant them immunity.
Article 2: Despite being served with multiple lawful subpoenas, Rod Rosenstein has defied
Congress' oversight power and refused to hand over documents pertaining to the Obama administration's
investigations against the Trump campaign.
Article 3: When subpoenaed documents were handed over to Congress, they were fraudulently
altered and redacted to conceal key details from Congress.
Rosenstein and his aides abused national security exemptions to redact information that had
nothing to do with national security.
Article 4: After Jeff Sessions recused himself from any 2016 Campaign-related investigation,
Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller as Special Counsel.
However, Rosenstein gave Mueller a memo expanding his scope beyond the 2016 campaign to include
areas that Jeff Sessions did not recuse himself from (ie Paul Manafort's mid-2000s tax filings).
Congress has subpoenaed the memo and Rosenstein has refused to deliver an unredacted copy.
Article 5: Rod Rosenstein oversaw the abuse of the FISA system as a means to spy on Trump
campaign advisors.
When asked under oath whether he had even read the FISA surveillance application before
signing it, Rosenstein refused to answer.
Anyone who authorizes the Federal government to spy on an American without even reading
the application is unfit to hold any office.
Honestly, had we written the Articles of Impeachment, we could have listed at least a half dozen
other crimes.
For example, the resolution does not target Rosenstein for threatening Congressional staffers.
Rosenstein is guilty of all of this.
Some — like his refusals to comply with Congressional subpoenas — are actually criminal.
Other violations, while not crimes in and of themselves — have eroded the public's
confidence in whether Rosenstein can faithfully execute his duties.
Over the past months, we have been pushing for this moment.
Many people emailed us and told us that Articles of Impeachment would never be introduced.
Well, they have now been formally introduced.
Paul Ryan tried desperately to block this.
He failed.
Now the fight begins to force a vote and remove this criminal from office for good!

and judiciary.
The term co-equal is important here.

But that is exactly what Rod Rosenstein has done.
His arrogance is astonishing.
He truly believes himself to be above the law and above the Constitution.
He must be stopped.
The Founders gave Congress impeachment powers for a reason.
Since the American people – through Congress – get to hire key government officials,
it only makes sense that We the People would retain the ability to fire them.
They knew a day would come when a Congressionally confirmed executive branch official would
break the law and have to be removed from office.
That day has come.
Paul Ryan is stepping in and using his power as Speaker to fill the Congressional calendar.
He's trying to stall.
If Ryan wins, an impeachment vote could be blocked for months.
Just so we're clear, when the Democrats filed a bill to impeach President Trump, it was
voted on that week.
Just goes to show you where Ryan's priorities are, doesn't it?
History is watching us right now to see whether we rally to remove this Deep State criminal
from office or allow these crimes to continue.
When my grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn about this in History Class, I want
them to know that I did everything in my power to take this country back from the Deep State.
