The FBI Is On Trial And The Verdict Could Bring Down The Deep State For Good

The FBI has played a central role in the Deep State's anti-Trump conspiracy.

Former Director James Comey used unverified, partisan opposition research as the basis

for a FISA warrant that allowed the Bureau to snoop through the Trump campaign's communications.

Now the FBI is on trial and the verdict could drive the final nail in the Deep State's

coffin.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted Paul Manafort on a host of financial crimes completely

unrelated to the 2016 election.

But Manafort isn't going to roll over.

His legal team has the option of mounting a defense that keys in on the FBI's anti-Trump

bias.

MANAFORT, A CRIMINAL DEFENDANT FIGHTING TWO SEPARATE CASES, IS UNIQUELY POSITIONED TO

TRY TO DREDGE UP INFORMATION ON BIAS OR POTENTIAL OVERREACH BY FBI AND JUSTICE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS

WHO HAVE PLAYED ROLES IN SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT MUELLER'S PROBE OF TIES BETWEEN THE TRUMP

CAMPAIGN AND RUSSIA.

WHETHER MANAFORT WILL SEEK TO UNCOVER AND SPOTLIGHT DISPARAGING DETAILS ABOUT FEDERAL

OFFICIALS, POTENTIALLY INCLUDING AN FBI AGENT DISMISSED FROM MUELLER'S TEAM LAST YEAR,

HAS BECOME THE SUBJECT OF SPECULATION AND ANTICIPATION BY LAWYERS INVOLVED IN THE RUSSIA

INVESTIGATION.

"THIS IS SOMETHING WE'VE ALL BEEN TALKING ABOUT," SAID ONE DEFENSE ATTORNEY REPRESENTING

A WITNESS IN MUELLER'S PROBE.

"IT'S A HARD QUESTION."

SOME EXPECT MANAFORT TO TAKE A SLASH-AND-BURN APPROACH.

"I THINK THEY'RE GOING TO TRY TO THROW ANY DIRT POSSIBLE," SAID FORMER FEDERAL

PROSECUTOR RANDAL ELIASON.

"IF HE'S GOING TO TRIAL, THEN I WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE AN ALL-OUT WAR, AND I WOULDN'T

BE SURPRISED IF THEY TRY TO MAKE THOSE KINDS OF CLAIMS THAT THE PROSECUTION IS TAINTED."

Manafort's defense that he was targeted by partisans at the Bureau who are using this

investigation as a fishing expedition to destroy Donald Trump would allow jurors to render

a verdict on the FBI's conduct and send a message to the Bureau that engaging in partisan

warfare violates America's democratic norms.

Even if Manafort loses at trial, his defense could lay the groundwork for a pardon.

Politico also reports:

"THE DEGREE TO WHICH HE CAN SHOW BROADER FBI MISCONDUCT IN HIS INVESTIGATION CAN LAY

A FOUNDATION FOR A PARDON," SAID GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY LAW PROFESSOR JONATHAN

TURLEY.

"THUS FAR, MANAFORT HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM THE CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING THE

FBI.

TO THE EXTENT HE CAN MAKE HIMSELF PART OF THAT NARRATIVE, IT CAN ONLY HELP HIM — CERTAINLY

WITH THE PRESIDENT."

Manafort's trial is a chance to turn the tables and make the Deep State's conduct

an issue.

His team will have access to documents through discovery and can call witnesses that will

shed light on what was really behind the special counsel's zeal to bring this to trial.

One of those organizations is known as the New Israel Fund (NIF), and their stated goal

is to promote "social justice and equality for all Israelis."

But they are under fire from Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu is accusing the group of working through European states to convince Rwanda

to refuse a deal that would result in them taking in illegal African migrants being deported

from Israel.

The Prime Minister claims the NIF is trying to eradicate Israel's Jewish character.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Netanyahu directly mentions George Soros, calling him

"hostile to Israel."

Soros has a strong history of being for more open borders, so his support of such an organization

is not surprising.

"PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU ACCUSED THE RADICAL NEW ISRAEL FUND (NIF) OF WORKING

THROUGH EUROPEAN STATES TO PERSUADE RWANDA TO REFUSE A DEAL WHEREBY THE AFRICAN NATION

WOULD TAKE IN ILLEGAL AFRICAN MIGRANTS DEPORTED FROM ISRAEL.

TAKING TO FACEBOOK, NETANYAHU ON TUESDAY WROTE IN HEBREW THAT "THE FUND ENDANGERS THE SECURITY

AND FUTURE OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL AS THE NATION STATE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE."

NETANYAHU ASSERTED THE NIF "RECEIVES FUNDING FROM FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS AND ELEMENTS HOSTILE

TO ISRAEL, SUCH AS GEORGE SOROS' FUNDS."

HE WROTE THE NIF SEEKS TO ERADICATE ISRAEL'S JEWISH CHARACTER.

"THE PRIMARY AIM OF THE NIF IS TO ERASE THE JEWISH NATURE OF ISRAEL AND TO TURN IT

INTO A STATE OF ALL ITS CITIZENS NEXT TO A PALESTINIAN STATE WITHOUT ANY JEWS ON THE

1967 BORDER WITH ITS CAPITAL AS JERUSALEM."

"FOR DECADES, THE FUND CONTRIBUTES TO ANTI-ZIONIST, PRO-PALESTINIAN ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING ONES

THAT SLANDER IDF SOLDIERS, SUCH AS BREAKING THE SILENCE AND B'TSELEM, AND THOSE FIGHTING

FOR PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS, SUCH AS ADALAH," NETANYAHU WROTE.

"I DON'T KNOW ANY WESTERN DEMOCRACY, AND PARTICULARLY NOT THE UNITED STATES, THAT WOULD'VE

BEEN WILLING TO TOLERATE FOR LONG SUCH HOSTILE ACTIVITY FUNDED BY FOREIGN COUNTRIES, AS HAS

BEEN THE CASE HERE IN ISRAEL WITH THE FUND FOR DECADES," NETANYAHU ADDED.

HE CALLED ON THE KNESSET TO ESTABLISH A COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE THE NIF.

THE NIF'S CEO, DANIEL SOKATCH, RESPONDED ON FACEBOOK, CLAIMING HID GROUP "DID NOT

PRESSURE THE RWANDAN GOVERNMENT TO REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN NETANYAHU'S CRUEL MASS

DEPORTATION PLAN."

"WE DID SUPPORT MASSIVE NUMBERS OF ISRAELIS STANDING UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT AND DEMANDING

ACTION FROM THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT," SAKATCH WROTE."

Israel is perhaps the strongest ally of the United States.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has been a staunch friend of President Trump since his election.

President Trump has rewarded his friendship by recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of

Israel, something the majority of the Israeli people are supportive of.

This funding is just more proof that George Soros is not a friend of America or its interests.

THE BACKDROP: NETANYAHU WAS BRIEFING THE SECURITY CABINET SUNDAY ON HIS MEETING WITH TRUMP EARLIER

THIS MONTH.

HE SAID VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE, SECRETARY OF DEFENSE JAMES MATTIS, SECRETARY OF STATE

REX TILLERSON, NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER H.R. MCMASTER AND CHIEF OF STAFF JOHN KELLY HAD

ALL BEEN PRESENT FOR THE DISCUSSION ON IRAN.

ACCORDING TO THE TWO MINISTERS, NETANYAHU SAID IN SUNDAY'S MEETING:

"I THINK TRUMP IS VERY CLOSE TO WITHDRAWING FROM THE IRAN DEAL.

THE MEETING WAS VERY IMPORTANT.

TRUMP SPOKE IN FRONT OF ALL THE MOST SENIOR MEMBERS OF HIS ADMINISTRATION AND TOLD ME

THAT IF THE NUCLEAR DEAL WOULD NOT CHANGE SIGNIFICANTLY THE U.S. WILL WITHDRAW."

THE PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE DID NOT DISPUTE THIS ACCOUNT BUT REFRAINED FROM COMMENTING

ON IT.

ISRAELI OFFICIALS SAY THAT THE DEPARTURE OF SECRETARY OF STATE TILLERSON IS ANOTHER SIGN

THAT TRUMP IS HEADED TOWARDS WITHDRAWING FROM THE IRAN DEAL.

THEY SAID ISRAEL WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF MIKE POMPEO AS THE NEW SECRETARY OF STATE

MAINLY DUE TO HIS HAWKISH VIEWS ON IRAN IN GENERAL AND ESPECIALLY ON THE IRAN DEAL."

The Iran deal was Obama's signature second term achievement.

Unfortunately the cost was high.

His deal put Iran on the path to acquiring a nuclear weapon.

It did not halt their weapons program.

And it was sold under false pretenses.

The Obama administration – led by deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes – planted

fake news stories in the media about how the negotiations were emboldening moderates in

Iran.

But the Iran deal appears to be on the verge of being history.

A FEDERAL OFFICIAL SAID TUESDAY.

OFFICIALS INFORMED THE VERA INSTITUTE OF JUSTICE THAT STARTING THIS MONTH IT WILL PAUSE THE

NONPROFIT'S LEGAL ORIENTATION PROGRAM, WHICH LAST YEAR HELD INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR 53,000

IMMIGRANTS IN MORE THAN A DOZEN STATES, INCLUDING CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS.

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL ALSO EVALUATE VERA'S "HELP DESK," WHICH OFFERS TIPS

TO NON-DETAINED IMMIGRANTS FACING DEPORTATION PROCEEDINGS IN THE CHICAGO, MIAMI, NEW YORK,

LOS ANGELES AND SAN ANTONIO COURTS.

THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE FOR IMMIGRATION REVIEW, WHICH RUNS THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT'S IMMIGRATION

COURTS, SAID THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO "CONDUCT EFFICIENCY REVIEWS WHICH HAVE NOT TAKEN PLACE

IN SIX YEARS."

AN IMMIGRATION COURT OFFICIAL, WHO SPOKE ON THE CONDITION OF ANONYMITY BECAUSE THE AUDIT

HAS NOT BEEN FORMALLY ANNOUNCED, SAID THE REVIEW WILL EXAMINE THE COST-EFFECTIVENESS

OF THE FEDERALLY FUNDED PROGRAMS AND WHETHER THEY DUPLICATE EFFORTS WITHIN THE COURT SYSTEM.

HE NOTED, FOR EXAMPLE, THAT IMMIGRATION JUDGES ARE ALREADY REQUIRED TO INFORM IMMIGRANTS

OF THEIR RIGHTS BEFORE A HEARING, INCLUDING THEIR RIGHT TO FIND A LAWYER AT THEIR OWN

EXPENSE."

Programs like this are a magnet for illegal immigration.

Illegal aliens enter the country knowing there is legal aid to help them stay.

Jeff Sessions was right to end this program.

Sessions came under fire from Trump and his supporters when he recused himself from the

Russia investigation.
