Attorney General Jeff Sessions just dropped the hammer on Democrats.

He's cracking down on what could be the biggest threat the left poses to America.

Democrats are now realizing they are in big trouble.

Sessions has had enough of sanctuary cities.

These rogue jurisdictions refuse to enforce federal immigration law and allow illegal

aliens to roam free.

One of Trump's first moves in office was to issue an executive order cracking down

on sanctuary cities.

But the Democrats who run these lawless outposts continued to defy the federal government.

Those days are over.

The Justice Department issued letters to 23 sanctuary cities demanding they turn over

all records relating to their policies or else they will be subpoenaed.

If they continue to fail to comply, they will have their federal funds cut off.

Politico reports:

"THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION IS ESCALATING ITS FIGHT WITH SANCTUARY CITIES AND STATES,

WARNING THEM THAT THEY COULD BE HIT WITH SUBPOENAS IF THEY DON'T COME CLEAN ABOUT POLICIES

BARRING OR DISCOURAGING OFFICIALS FROM SHARING INFORMATION ABOUT UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS

IN LOCAL CUSTODY.

THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SENT LETTERS WEDNESDAY TO 23 CITIES, COUNTIES AND STATES DEMANDING

THAT THEY TURN OVER ALL RECORDS OF SUCH POLICIES OR PRACTICES.

IF THEY FAIL TO PRODUCE THOSE MATERIALS, THEY COULD FACE A LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE SUBPOENA

AND — EVENTUALLY — ACTION TO RECOVER MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF FEDERAL GRANTS.

"I CONTINUE TO URGE ALL JURISDICTIONS UNDER REVIEW TO RECONSIDER POLICIES THAT PLACE THE

SAFETY OF THEIR COMMUNITIES AND THEIR RESIDENTS AT RISK," ATTORNEY GENERAL JEFF SESSIONS

SAID IN A STATEMENT.

"PROTECTING CRIMINAL ALIENS FROM FEDERAL IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES DEFIES COMMON SENSE

AND UNDERMINES THE RULE OF LAW.

WE HAVE SEEN TOO MANY EXAMPLES OF THE THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY REPRESENTED BY JURISDICTIONS

THAT ACTIVELY THWART THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT — ENOUGH IS ENOUGH."

AMONG THOSE ON THE RECEIVING END OF THE LETTERS: THE STATES OF CALIFORNIA, ILLINOIS AND OREGON,

AS WELL AS NEW YORK CITY, LOS ANGELES, SAN FRANCISCO, CHICAGO AND DENVER.

ALL THE JURISDICTIONS GETTING THE LETTERS FROM JUSTICE HAVE BEEN PART OF EARLIER DEMANDS

FOR INFORMATION ON THE SAME ISSUE, BUT THE LATEST MISSIVES REPRESENT AN ESCALATION BOTH

IN TONE AND IN THREATENING SUBPOENAS.

There is ample reason to believe the FBI and DOJ's chief concern is not sources and methods,

but instead to cover up their own misdeeds.

The FBI and DOJ fought for redactions on the House Intelligence Committee's Russia investigation

report to cover up the facts that the Bureau had former National Security Advisor Michael

Flynn under a counterintelligence investigation in 2016, but turned up no evidence of collusion.

Redacted material also was later revealed to show that FBI agents did not believe Flynn

was lying when they questioned him about his conversations with the Russian Ambassador.

Both of these bombshells called into question the entire foundation of the collusion investigation

and Mueller probe.

It is simply not possible to believe that the FBI is worried about protecting sources

and methods.

Chairman Nunes' investigation has shown that the real scandal was the abuse of power

engaged in by the Obama administration to spy on Trump campaign officials.

The FBI and DOJ are worried that the Deep State's crimes against a duly elected President

are what will

Rush Limbaugh has described the dossier and the subsequent collusion investigation as

maybe the greatest dirty trick in American political history.

While the media has claimed the investigation as legitimate, the truth is Limbaugh is correct.

Over 18 months of investigations have not turned up any evidence of collusion.

All Mueller has are process crimes and indictments on decade-old work done by Trump associates

before they joined his campaign.

Ohr is the second anti-Trump partisan who faced professional consequences during the

Mueller probe.

Peter Strzok – the FBI agent who led the interview of Michael Flynn – was reassigned

after it was discovered he had exchanged anti-Trump text messages with another FBI agent he was

allegedly having an affair with.

The entire collusion investigation was a set-up.

It was a fantasy floated by the Clinton campaign and Obama-loyalists in the government to provide

an excuse to start an investigation into every aspect of Trump's life so they could impeach

By now we have figured it out that Hillary Clinton didn't have any interest in building

and protecting Americans.

Now, one thing after another is released about Clinton's corruption.

The amount of corruption coming to light is absolutely overwhelming.

On April 16, the Committee to Defend the President filed suit against the FEC for failing to

take action on a report submitted last December.

The report lays out evidence of Clinton laundering money through state offices in order to avoid

federal campaign laws regarding donation limits.

In addition, this was all taking place whilst she reportedly was in control of the DNC and

its finances.

The court filing asserts that "Public statements from the DNC's former chairwoman Donna Brazile

reveal that the DNC transferred the HVF (Hillary Victory Fund) funds it received through the

state parties to HFA (Hillary for America).

She further disclosed that the Clinton campaign also directly controlled the DNC's funds."

Via Investors: The Committee to Defend the President has filed an FEC complaint against

Hillary Clinton's campaign, Democratic National Committee (DNC), Democratic state parties

and Democratic mega-donors.

As Fox News reported, we documented the Democratic establishment "us[ing] state chapters as

straw men to circumvent campaign donation limits and launder(ing) the money back to

her campaign."

The 101-page complaint focused on the Hillary Victory Fund (HVF) — the $500 million joint

fundraising committee between the Clinton campaign, DNC, and dozens of state parties

— which did exactly that the Supreme Court declared would still be illegal.

HVF solicited six-figure donations from major donors, including Calvin Klein and "Family

Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, and routed them through state parties en route to the

Clinton campaign.

Roughly $84 million may have been laundered in what might be the single largest campaign

finance scandal in U.S. history.

"Here's what you can't do, which the Clinton machine appeared to do anyway.

As the Supreme Court made clear in McCutcheon v. FEC, the JFC may not solicit or accept

contributions to circumvent base limits, through "earmarks" and "straw men" that are

ultimately excessive — there are five separate prohibitions here.

On top of that, six-figure donations either never actually passed through state party

accounts or were never actually under state party control, which adds false FEC reporting

by HVF, state parties, and the DNC to the laundry list.

HVF bundled these megagifts and, on a single day, reported transferring money to all participating

state parties, some of which would then show up on FEC reports filed by the DNC as transferring

the exact same dollar amount on the exact same day to the DNC.

Yet not all the state parties reported either receiving or transferring those sums."

Pretty much, the evidence is showing that Hillary Clinton and the entire Democratic

National Committees created the Hillary Victory Fund (HVF) so they could accept large donations

exceeding $400,000.

If that isn't a scam then who knows what it is.

This is exactly how these people keep in power.

Trump was Clinton's kryptonite!

FEC records show several large contributions reported as received by the HVF and the same

amount on the same day (or occasionally the following day) recorded as received by the

DNC from a state Democratic committee, but without the state Democratic committee ever

reporting the contribution.

For more than a year, FEC records show some 30 separate occasions when the HVF transferred

contributions totaling more than $10 million to the DNC without any corresponding record

of the receipt or disbursement from the state parties.

They illegally jumped right over the state Democratic parties.

According to Politico, "[w]hile state party officials were made aware that Clinton's

campaign would control the movement of the funds between participating committees, one

operative who has relationships with multiple state parties said that some of their officials

have complained that they weren't notified of the transfers into and out of their accounts

until after the fact."

It seems that the Clinton campaign was in total control of the transfer of funds and

used the party as a "fundraising clearinghouse."

Former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile acknowledged that "[a]s Hillary's campaign gained momentum,

she resolved the party's debt and put it on a starvation diet.

It had become dependent on her campaign for survival, for which she expected to wield

control of its operations."

The Supreme Court made evident in the 2014 case, McCutcheon v. FEC, that this exact scenario

would violate the law.

Even with this wave of evidence concerning campaign-finance criminality—more than $84

million—the media instead chose on Friday to chase the story of Trump's $130,000 payment

through Cohen to Stormy Daniels.

Mueller is chasing down this lead because it could be his last chance to prove collusion.

The special counsel wants to show that the paltry Russian ad-buy lines up with the Trump

team's data so they can frame the campaign for coordinating with Russia.

No one who works at any serious level in politics thinks the Russian ads had any impact on the

election.

The ad-buy was miniscule – not even enough to swing a single Congressional seat – and

most of the money was spent after the election.

But facts don't matter to Mueller.

His only goal is to bring down Donald Trump.

EXPRESSING ANNOYANCE WITH THE DEPARTMENT, GOWDY SAID, "I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT

THE FBI AND DOJ, BUT THE WORLD'S PREMIERE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY CAN'T SEEM TO OPERATE

A COPYING MACHINE.

THAT'S INEXPLICABLE."

Gowdy is a former prosecutor.

And he has tried to give the FBI the benefit of the doubt in this investigation.

But it is becoming more and more apparent that the Bureau has something to hide.

Under James Comey's leadership, the FBI morphed into a political hit squad for Barack

Obama.

The Obama administration used the FBI to weaponize the surveillance state against Trump aides

and to frame Trump for the fake news collusion conspiracy.

Gowdy and Congressional Republicans are trying to dig through this muck in order to present

the full picture of the Obama administration and FBI's actions, but they are being obstructed.

It is clear to most that Robert Mueller's Russia investigation has major political motivations.

The entire left-wing is cheering for Mueller.

And Mueller just proved he's on their side after he was caught ignoring a major Clinton

scandal.

One of the latest attempts to tie President Trump to Russian collusion is a $150,000 donation

to Trump's charity in 2015.

The donation came from Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk.

It came following a short appearance by then Presidential candidate Donald Trump at a conference

that he attended via video.

Mueller is trying to claim this is proof of some form of interference between Trump and

Russia.

But there's one major problem with this claim.

While $150,000 may be a large sum of money, it pales in comparison to the contributions

Pinchuk had given to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary Clinton was serving as Secretary

of State.

The billionaire has contributed $13 million to Hillary Clinton's infamous charity, giving

him direct access to her as she was serving as Secretary of State.

TRUMP DID NOT INITIALLY REQUEST PAYMENT FOR THE APPEARANCE, BUT COHEN CONTACTED SCHOEN

AT ONE POINT TO REQUEST A $150,000 HONORARIUM, THE TIMES REPORTED.

IN A SEEMINGLY UNRELATED MATTER, THE FBI RAIDED COHEN'S MANHATTAN OFFICE AND RESIDENCE ON

MONDAY.

THE SEARCH WAS REPORTEDLY CONDUCTED FOR RECORDS RELATED TO COHEN'S PAYMENTS TO STORMY DANIELS,

A PORN STAR CLAIMING TO HAVE HAD AN AFFAIR WITH TRUMP IN 2006.

THE VICTOR PINCHUK FOUNDATION ISSUED A STATEMENT TO THE TIMES, DOWNPLAYING THE DONATION TO

TRUMP.

THE CHARITY REACHED OUT TO TRUMP AND OTHER WORLD LEADERS IN ORDER TO "PROMOTE STRENGTHENED

AND ENDURING TIES BETWEEN UKRAINE AND THE WEST," IT SAID.

CONTACT TO TRUMP WAS MADE AT A TIME WHEN "IT WAS BY NO MEANS ASSURED THAT MR.

TRUMP WOULD BE THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE IN 2016," THE FOUNDATION POINTED OUT."

Hillary Clinton was well known for her "pay to play" mentality while serving as Secretary

of State.

It seems Pinchuk is another player in that scandal, but the special counsel, led by Robert

Mueller is too busy trying to find proof that Russians interfered in the election to help

Donald Trump.

JUSTICE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS DECLINED TO COMMENT ON WHO WILL CONDUCT THE REVIEW OR ANY OTHER

DETAILS ABOUT THE INQUIRY."

Obama politicized the Justice Department to achieve his administration's policy ends.

And this is the second time Sessions has had to order a review in order to clean up the

mess left behind by the Obama administration.

He previously ordered a review of the Uranium One deal to dig into the possible wrongdoing

by the Clinton Foundation and to uncover any attempts at covering it up.

Politico reported:

"DECISIONS TO REVIEW CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS CONDUCTED AND CLOSED UNDER PRIOR ADMINISTRATIONS

ARE UNUSUAL, BUT NOT UNHEARD OF.

THIS MARKS THE SECOND INSTANCE IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS OF SESSIONS ORDERING A REVIEW OF

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION PRACTICES.

LAST MONTH, SESSIONS AGREED TO REVIEW HOW THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT HANDLED ALLEGATIONS

THAT PROPONENTS OF A DEAL TO PURCHASE A MINING TRANSPORT COMPANY KNOWN AS URANIUM ONE MADE

LARGE DONATIONS TO THE CLINTON FOUNDATION IN A BID TO INFLUENCE FORMER SECRETARY OF

STATE HILLARY CLINTON OR HER AIDES TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE.

SESSIONS AGREED TO THE REVIEW AFTER MANY REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS DEMANDED APPOINTMENT OF A SPECIAL

N. ambassador, Nikki Haley. Haley asked high-schoolers attending a Turning Point USA summit at George Washington University whether they had "posted anything online to quote-unquote 'own the libs,' " according to the Hill

("Own the libs" or "trigger the libs" means doing something provocative to upset supposedly over-sensitive liberals

) The students reportedly raised their hands en masse and roared. But then Haley went a different direction

"I know that it's fun and that it can feel good, but step back and think about what you're accomplishing when you do this — are you persuading anyone? Who are you persuading?" Haley asked

"We've all been guilty of it at some point or another, but this kind of speech isn't leadership; it's the exact opposite

" She added: "Real leadership is about persuasion, it's about movement, it's bringing people around to your point of view — not by shouting them down, but by showing them how it is in their best interest to see things the way you do

" Again, Haley is a political appointee of President Trump. Trump's entire political strategy is basically about "owning the libs" — and, in the process, making his base rally around him

Haley's comments may not have been intended for Trump, but much like first lady Melania Trump's anti-bullying campaign, there would seem to be some cognitive dissonance here

This is hardly the first time Haley has offered a somewhat discordant view from inside the Trump administration, but often that's been about establishing her personal independence

This is perhaps the most pronounced example of her separating herself from Trump's version of the Republican Party

Haley's choice of venue to deliver those lines is particularly noteworthy: TPUSA is a fast-growing group of young conservatives, led by provocateur and Trump ally Charlie Kirk, that is "known for its anti-political-correctness, aggressive legal tactics and alleged associations with racism," as the Post's Eliza Gray wrote earlier this month

In other words, Haley decided to deliver this message to an audience that would likely not love it, but she decided to deliver it there anyway

And while it might be a nice sentiment that is cheered across the aisle, it's not exactly the kind of attitude that is ascendant on the red team

Trump is more popular with the GOP base than basically any recent Republican president, and his bull-in-a-china-shop style has spurred culture wars in which most Republicans are happy warriors

Haley's approach, then, is counterintuitive for someone who is considered to be a rising star within the GOP — and even a possible future presidential candidate

Haley, if she is interested in climbing the ranks, seems to be betting on a more genteel and pragmatic version of conservatism while the party in recent years has demonstrated it desires anything but

Trump's entire election was basically a middle finger to political moderation — both in policy and rhetoric

It does seem to be working for Haley, though — at least for now. She appears to be the most popular member of the Trump administration, pulling off the unique trick of wooing Democrats with her independence while not alienating Republicans

(Democrats approved of her 55 percent to 23 percent after her "I don't get confused" rebuke of Larry Kudlow, and Republicans approved 75 to 9

) She's also extremely popular with the young conservative crowd she was speaking to Monday

Haley's political Teflon dates to 2015, when she went where Southern Republicans generally didn't go by siding against the Confederate flag

She wound up bringing the party with her rather than suffering for her apostasy. And that trend has continued with her in the Trump administration

But it has also worked as she has been a relatively infrequent presence on the national stage, occasionally popping up when the moment demanded or allowed for it

Were she to apply this kind of approach to a presidential or other campaign in the coming years, it would seem unlikely to catch fire — unless she's able to persuade the party to completely change course and abandon its newfound Trumpiness

Whether it works is the big, unanswered question. But if she does have higher aspirations, she could provide one of the most interesting — and unique — voices in the battle over the future course of the GOP
