During recent years, we have provided regular updates for CL and QL series mixing consoles,
significantly enhancing their convenience and performance.
Now we are ready to expand the number of supported Dante devices.
Using Dante audio networking, of course we can already link with many Yamaha, Nexo and 3rd party partner devices.
See them all in the DANTE SETUP menu,
which already includes some Shure devices such as ULXD and QLXD wireless receivers.
At the same time, we also have a strong partnership with Rupert Neve Designs
due to the PORTICO EQ and Compressor found in the Premium Rack.
While development is nearly completed, let's preview how to work with these two new products:
Rupert Neve Designs RMP-D8,
an 8-channel remote controlled mic pre with Dante,
and Shure Axient digital wireless receiver AD4Q (The two channel AD4D also works).
The RMP-D8 features class-A mic pre-amps with a custom transformer, mastering-grade AD converters,
and of course, Dante connectivity.
It allows Rupert Neve Designs mic pre-amps to be taken on tour.
Gain control, phantom power and high-pass filter can be adjusted from the front panel,
and also remotely controlled from a Yamaha QL or CL mixer.
It's quite easy to make it work. Keep the automatic IP address of Dante,
and enter the device config menu to set an ID number.
Up to 8 devices can be controlled from each console.
In the console, open the NETWORK SETUP and check the DEVICE CONTROL setting.
AUTO is the default mode, and is going to work here.
Only use the DHCP option when you have a DHCP server in the Dante network.
Now mount the device in DANTE SETUP, and include it in the HA CONTROL list.
Then you can access the controls in the I/O DEVICE menu.
You can do audio patching here, or in Dante Controller.
Note that the device has 16 Dante channels: the first 8 are the normal outputs,
while 9-16 are gain compensated for an additional console or for capturing a live recording.
Now let's look at the Shure AD4Q, from the new Axient Digital range of professional wireless systems.
It's setup is similar to the ULXD range.
Remember to set the Device Name to "Yamaha" mode,
and give each one a different ID number.
Though each mixer can control up to 24 devices,
many more can exist on the same network.
Keep it's IP addresses for Control and for Dante in "Automatic" mode for easy connection.
Mount the device in DANTE SETUP, and see its control parameters in I/O DEVICE.
See not only the receiver gain and mute, but also frequency, battery status,
RF level and a new signal quality time-line.
Also you can edit the device's "Channel Name".
Make a Dante patch, and the control will show on the channel strip according to the input patch.
Other new partner products to be supported include Sennheiser EM6000 digital wireless receiver,
Sony DWR-R03D digital wireless receiver,
Stagetec NEXUS (XDIP) multichannel i/o board,
Nexo DTD digital TD controller,
Nexo NXAMP-MK2 powered TD controller,
Yamaha DZR powered loudspeakers with Dante and
Yamaha MRX7-D and MTX5D matrix processors.
Along with existing devices from Focusrite, Aviom and Shure,
this deeper collaboration significantly widens the scope of the live audio networking ecosystem,
bringing not only audio, but also control to one central user interface.
Look out for the future videos when we'll show you how to make the most of these impressive new control possibilities.
