welcome back to Candys Art World I'm Candy and today we're going to try this
new calligraphy set it is by Stadler Or Staedtler it has 33 pieces it has four
pins five nibs 20 ink cartridges a pump practice paper pad instruction book
storage tin that it comes in a nice 10 and it's got this cardboard around it
that explains what it's got in there let's open it up
don't know the best way to open this without destroying it out here there was
a little piece of tape there just up on that part hopefully can slide it out
oh very nice it's a very nice little tin that it's in let's open that up and it's
hinged oh wow that is beautiful beautiful
I am so excited to try these that just lifts off and this is velvety little
spots that everything goes in and it has really skinny nibs up to fatter nibs and
it's got all different kinds of colors of ink
I think this lifts out ah it does
and put that back in there
if I can
okay they have instructions let's see
ah they have a whole half of it in this book oh there's another alphabet style
and another one so it has three different styles you can try let's take
a look again
I think I might want to try that italic style today we will see and then has
practice people pad oh nice it's almost like
grafting paper but it's got a a slant to it let's take a piece out don't know if
the peaches are about or what's
okay I made a mess of it
this apparently you're supposed to keep the pages in but I didn't want it to
blade through to the next page so we shall try it on a ripped page the first
pain oh that's so pretty
it's got a little I don't know the technical term for that but it's to hold
in any pocket or whatever morning she's like a shirt pocket
that is nice I wonder if the lids fit on the ends
with the nip on ah it does yeah the 5m below set wouldn't close when I
had the nib on it so I guess we can try this nib that's already on here
I think yep these are their pins you can choose a different nib you can also
choose different nib for this pin and if you have a bottle of ink you take this
and you fill it up and then you can use that as your cartridge
I think it's a twist yep so you would twist you put it in the ink and you
twist and it'll suction up ink into there you just fill it up like that and
then you can put it inside your pen and use that so if you run out of these
little inks you can use one of these use that and use some separating that you
buy there's so many colors of ink I don't know where to start let's see
let's go with blue because I have never tried a blue ink so you just put it in
it in the hole and you push down until it clicks and then it's in there
okay then you screw this part back on and you put the lid back on and that's a
close little case and put that off to the side I don't know if this actually
shows you how to put it together it tells you how to take care of your pan
tells you some of the stuff that you might need besides what's in the set not
see and have instruction on how to put it together but I'm not reading it all
the way through since since I learned how to put it together with that 5 one
below pin but this one is by Stadler so I'm hoping that the ink flow is more
natural and you don't have to dip it in ink in order to get it to flow I'm going
to zoom in a little bit and we shall see
ooh I started already yay
so this is not the most this is not the most thick of nibs let me zoom in a
little bit more but the ink flow is really nice let's see oh these alphabets
are just oh just the uppercase up here and then the lowercase is underneath all
together by itself but let's do the lowercase with it okay maybe not holding
it right
go
Oh
there is the lowercase a
uppercase B
I just gotta find the right angle for holding this particular pin
I did the wrong order you're supposed to do this part of the B first and then
this part and a lowercase B
if I can just remember which angle
this is not the pins fall this is my fault
I'm sure
see why I keep changing that angle I guess
or maybe I need to hold it up bright for a little bit
so the ink can flow down in there let's see
if I can just remember the angle in which
let it turn on me only so maybe the shadows won't be so bad
all right let's try another nib and another pin strike a green nib I mean a
green pen with this bickering it it's not the biggest nib but it's a big
earner nib let's try a green ink oops I'm out of frame push it in until
it clicks
the cap on the end
you
okay I got the pen to work now I didn't have the ink pushed all the way down in
thought I did and I propped up my board in my art board a little bit with the
little metal tin to see if that helps me have the right angles and let's go on to
the C this is a broad
this paper and ink combination bleeds a little bit or feathers out spreads out
but let's see
but this is a very large nib
I was about to go in
snack there we go
so bad a little bit
so here's the alphabet mostly in green it didn't bleed through onto my paper I
head here I did go through this paper a little bit but it didn't get on to this
paper I have taped to my board and I think this is a lot neater than why I've
been doing
I mix some of my own letters and with its on accident just from habit and
let's see if I can get the blue one don't work again I would like to write
happy new year or maybe I try a whole different color
let's go with this black one
maybe this really big one and the purple ink now I looked in the book and it does
tell you how to put it together it says to make sure this clicks in see if you
can hear it did you hear the click that means it's in and then I said to put the
other one like this in the barrel that probably helps keep it stabilized in the
pen or that way if that one runs out you can just pop out and flip it around
oh that sounds floppy I don't know if then I think it's just that one so I'm
not going to put that in there
okay this is I think it's purple
unless it's pink nope it's pink looks kind of purply in the the jar oh very
pretty very quick to run as long as I keep my pin at the right angle but I
think I was trying a little too hard to have it at the right angle it's not as
finicky is I was thinking it is so let's just try
that's not prop it up
that flows very nicely
and this is watercolor paper that's why that did that because there's a bridge
in the paper
you
again
I think that came out pretty good let's try the black the blue see if I can get
that one to work without
I like that too let's try the green
I like that I think there was one more yep there's one more pin so we might as
well pick a nib and try another color how about orange we track orange there's
outside bring the yellow I would love to try those too but I think we'll try an
orange it's colorful tips let's put the cap on it yet put this end on it
think it clicked
and this this nib size
it's the one two three the third one in the set
so I think it'll be that's the first one
and the second one is still in the case so let me the skinniest and that one and
that one is the biggest so this will be your than this but smaller than that
okay let's see
maybe give it a second
let's make sure that the ink is actually clipped in it is I just got to find the
right angle for it again the sets really nice um I'm just still learning so I
appreciate you guys bearing with me through the process
I will be right back
I'm back we had another operator error I didn't have the ink down in there good
you really got to make sure that it clicks and that's what opens the ink
otherwise you'll see here thinking that the pin is broken when it's just not got
any ink flowing to it let's try this
color I like the orange let's see if I can zoom you in a little bit
these pens tend to work better when you are going at a more steady pace instead
of the start and stops that I've been doing the start and stops happen just
because of the trying to make up my mind before I put the pen down
so the more confident you are the better your ink will flow everything takes
practice just don't be afraid to pick it up and try I've really really really I'm
glad that I got this set I think I think I will be able to do quite a lot with it
there's the pink ink with the biggest nib there's the blue with the smallest
nib there's the green with the second
largest and there's the orange with the second or third smaller smallest um
because I'm not sure if that nib is the same size as the one that came in the
pen originally nope I think it's a little bit bigger so
there's one more size that you can use that's in this set which is really nice
set all the pieces can go back in can go back in so you can keep them all nice
and store them nicely I think maybe you're supposed to do it with these
parts up of course I did it upside down on all of them but you know this is this
brand is Stadler Blount brand their coat there
mechanical pencil that I have I really like these I really like I would just
have to keep playing with them and in practice practice practice but it's fun
to practice this even if you don't get perfect with a specific alphabet your
handwriting will end up being better because of the practice just keep
practicing and then you will have really nice handwriting
that pets went to the cursive there let's see what a cursive G looks like
with this
and you couldn't you end up developing your own handwriting style
lowercase I not yes I
you
and just me going with the flow with what came out I'm going to see if I
could sign my name with this
