What's up guys, Invisible Jiu-Jitsu here. Lukasz helping out. We're gonna do a
arm bar from side control and I've been teaching this in my white belt
fundamentals class. It's gonna come off of a failed Kimura or Americana.
So in this case it's an Americana. Usually you get here and you've gone with thumbs and he
straightens and we're gonna catch it. That's all we're gonna do...it's a very
very quick little armbar and like i say it comes usually when you've connected
with thumbs. Because remember, with thumbs there's always a gap in between our
fingers that he's able to straighten into and if he's able to take away the
ninety degree bend, whether it's this one, or this one.
He's able to take away the effectiveness of our lock. So, two things
are gonna move. My elbows and my chest are gonna move forward, and my hand is
gonna move up. very very simple. It also can happen if
you ARE locked up and he's just a beast, which Lukasz is. He's a
beast, he straightens, so now I'm trying here but it's not gonna work. No more Americana
But I move my chest forward, my elbows forward, and together, and then my
hand moves up...... and then if I need to I can also creep this hand further to
the end, Okay, so why am i doing those things? I need to move with his arm
because if I try the arm bar from here I'm probably gonna hit the ground before
anything happens, all right. I want to get my bar as close to his elbow as I can. So as
I move forward and together, my elbow now... my bar... is right at his elbow. I moved
together and raise this arm up so that I have his hand in the highest possible
position. I've got loads of breaking space here. If I went forward like
this we're going to struggle. But if I go together and collect look...
now we can break. and sometimes if the guy's strong I'll put my head on
top of my own hand just to add reinforcement to that. and then
there's other things that we can do off of this. He straightens... I go with him...
and it's not quite working... I can come and move my legs
to generate even more power. I could even start picking him up and barring
and it's exactly the same thing, just hands reversed, off the Kimura grip
we move the elbows and we straighten. Now sometimes he'll rotate
his thumb say in this direction and then pushing down is no longer effective
I'm gonna push in the opposite direction of the thumb, because remember the elbow
moves in the direction of the thumb so if he's pointing this way I will push
his arm in that direction.... this way - we push it down. If he rotates completely
and he keeps going well now I have to do a switch and there's my Americana.
He straightens... I missed the bar in the middle and he keeps going... we switch and we collect.
So thank you very much Lucasz. Nice little simple arm bar there
it's also possible in a lot of other positions... I've got a nice little
one I'm going to show you guys in another video. Do you want to see any
more applications of this arm bar?? Feel free to leave a message in the
comments... I always like getting the comments! Leave a LIKE and SHARE it with your friends
come back for more, thanks guys!
