LOOKS LIKE NANCY PELOSI LIED TO AMERICAN PEOPLE

I just got off the phone with a senior DHS official and this is the first response that

we have heard so far from the administration to the letter the

Nancy Pelosi sent to the president this morning asking him to either delay the State of the

Union or submit it in writing because of security concerns a DHS

of course oversees the US Secret Service I am told that the Secret

Service is ready for this that this is one of these national special security events

the Secret Service has been working on this for months they're protective

mission has not changed even though everybody in the department is

not being paid they are still out there and they are doing the work and they are ready

for the State of the Union on the

29th of January now here's something really interesting I was told by this DHS official

that no one from the congressional leadership reached out to them

to say hey how's your security plan is it being affected at all by this

shutdown can you still provide security because the u.s.

Secret Service is overseeing security for the State of the

Union nobody called the Secret Service from Nancy Pelosi's office to say that to ask if

there were any concerns before she set out that letter which really sort

of now brings it back home to this idea that this is not about security

concerns that this is all about politics let's get the read on this because the finger-pointing

is going on and on and

whether it's a written speech or a broadcast speech or no speech is it a chance tone that

we have to do this it depends on who you talk to let's get to Democratic

strategist Suraj Patel Republican pollster Lee Carter and

some of that briefing as well the FBI can't really count on terrorism and

unit may get the president get all those briefings members of Congress have access to those briefings

what we know is that that didn't happen they'd even call

over there to ask them if there was a security threat they don't want the

president having primetime television that's just the fact of the matter she could have

said that I don't believe

right now with the government shutdown that the president should address the American

people I think the president should just go over to the Senate go across

the hall televise it from there what about just from the Oval or from

requirements on this do we know I don't know what their quirements are but I'll tell you

something I'm concerned about the fact that she's out there saying he shouldn't

do this that means she has no intention of making a deal in the next

13 days like let that sit in for a minute she has no intention of making a deal that's

what I'm hearing right now

and that's the president just shine or good doesn't want anything to happen for the next

13 days but maybe she wants to keep going to Puerto Rico watching Hamilton

and not showing up for meetings I mean let's be frank here guys the

issue here is that the government is shut down correct and it's why are we talking about

the

drama between two of our Washington actors when we've got our food not being inspected

lines at TSA piling up in Atlanta Airport and all across this country

the president good went and he did discuss it last week I've heard the

arguments time and again everything there is a concern here well the first off Capitol

Police do you believe that the security concerns just totally I do believe

that if we have people right now not enough resources to even secure our airports

and our food hopefully that's not that's not true it wasn't true the

Secret Service is not true so that arguments completely off the table are there delays

right now are they delays right now because they were secure going there

definitely raise this goodbye just answer me that don't you think it's a jumping

the gun to already good urge the president canceled the speech

when you got another two weeks to go maybe she is factoring in at least two more weeks

of a shutdown and without budget no I absolutely don't think it's premature

to say hey let's make some alternate look it takes a lot of time a

lot of time to prepare for a massive national event like this they've been preparing for

in the insult and so the

question is now you can't just pull the plug on it two days out we're losing certain point

one percent of GDP growth a week during this days before the plans because

the Challenger does that and so and so what I'm saying once again is why

isn't the president focused on getting this government reopened we're not gonna

make a deal even why did she say even House President had the House the Senate and his

presidency when he could have kept continued resolution going to not have

a shutdown in the fourth and who's the bigger loser is a waste of time well

weeks I'm told this could drag on for months now the history of polling on this you know

this better than ideally is that eventually it starts with one of the

other party getting the blame but as the frustration builds both are fingered

by the American people who raise a finger to both of them I think that's what we're

starting to see this is the

sort of the moment where Democrats right now there's no question the polling says that

people blame Trump and the Republicans were to shut down at this point

but there is a point right now and that is a pivotal point that there

Democrats look like they're unwilling to have a conversation engage they didn't show up

at meetings now they're saying

let's postpone let's let's cancel the stay the unit's two weeks from now they're giving

no indication that they have any willingness to compromise if the

Republicans right now Democrats to compromise a budge on this issue the

president and the president is is is is not expected to compromise on his just border

funding well look I think there

is there's no question where you sit on the you know on this the political spectrum

is how you're going to view this right now but I think there is going to be a change

in perception right now and who's to blame on how long this is dragging out

and I think the Democrats are going to have to at least have a conversation

make demands and I think that th president and the Republicans are going to have to give

a little there's no question the irony is that Democrats who were

moaning this no wool position now were the same ones who approved 236

miles of wool building on the part of Barack Obama and and to your point you know Republicans

who were bemoaning that that you know Dhaka and the frustration of

doing one deal over the other were open to that as part of comprehensive

immigration reform so both sides have actually held the other view and been open to the other

private view and now they've just got a very stubborn look Neil

you made a really good point I'm a klutz I believe even covering since

Thomas Jefferson or exactly know the truth is that this isn't about I'm less interested

and I think most of your viewers in most American public is less interested

in blame and polling and who's gonna be taking on the heat for

this thing I think what really matters is that there have been time and again compromise

this emergency the attacks were immediate full-bore and relentless instead

of giving the president credit for recognizing the damage to this

country he was attacked by virtually everyone instead of people saying thank goodness someone

in Washington

recognizes the need to compromise someone who actually understands the purpose of government

is to serve the people he sees people who live paycheck to

paycheck having a difficult time buying groceries and paying their bills

airports closed preventing people from business trips visiting family members as well as the

attendant economic hardships and unlike the obstructionist and

the Trump haters who don't give a damn about ordinary Americans he simply

couldn't let it go on he did not care he made a tactical decision a strategy decision to

pick the ground to fight on

he chose to stop the fight today to fight another day and that day will be February

15th but of course Chuck crowed hopefully now the

president has learned his lesson no one should ever underestimate the

speaker as Donald Trump has learned Chuck I hate it to break it to you this isn't a

it's not about under estimating people it's about people without a paycheck something

that you're not willing to go without and Nancy got off her broom long enough

to say now unity is our power and that is what maybe the president

underestimated and Ann Coulter blasted Trump for not keeping his promise for the border

thought that he wouldn't care what the elites thought and he'd actually keep his promises

on this and he still doesn't care what the elites think he cared

the right to fire non-essential employees during a government

not analogous public safety workers have no right to strike it was the same approach Calvin

Coolidge took when the Boston police went on strike these people

they don't understand Donald Trump they just want to criticize him

like they did with other non popular decisions like meeting with Kim Jong on who hasn't by

ballistic missile since the meeting like the tariffs which were unpopular but seem now

to be working folks the war isn't over yet remember Donald Trump is a

man willing to take the shots to change the norm in order to do what he

thinks is best for the country very often he's dead on closing the government torrid

him opening it whether

it's a popular move is irrelevant in his mind and remember this war is not over it's nothing

but a hollow victory for the Democrats On February 15th that the

committee does not come back with a workable solution which would be a shock

to me because Congress is certainly not about getting the job done they kicked the can down

the road with the approval of presidents like Obama and Clinton and Bush

with no one looking to actually get something done this president could do

the same thing I believe he will not because another continuing resolution is not his style

I believe the president will call for emergency funding for the wall he's tried everything

else the only thing I

would ask is that he made sure it doesn't get to the ninth circuit aka the ninth circus

the idea of Congress going on yet another vacation the day after February

15th with all of this unsettled without any kind of resolution is a just

another reminder to the American people of what Congress cares about themselves their

vacations and the lobbyists who fund those vacations but I'm here to tell

you never underestimate this president this president lives to fight another day and that's

why open it's just common sense walls work that's

why most of the Democrats in Congress have voted in the past for bills that include walls

and physical barriers and very powerful fences the walls we are building

are not medieval walls that's president Trump's standing his

ground on securing the southern border no matter what the critics say former Trump campaign
