We are excited because there are so many presents down there!
Bren: There's Santa!
We take a photo on the stairs every Christmas morning.
I'm always like "hurry up!"
"Where are the presents!?"
It's a tradition!
"Why do we have to do this?!"
That's what you used to think?
I still think that!
Seigo: Whoever finds the pickle can open their presents first.
We can't find the pickle!
The pickle
has vanished!
Seigo: Did Santa take it?
Bren: It's his Christmas present.
It looks like a poncho!
Bren: I got the same one as you!
The presents were so great!
We got so many!
About 6 each?
Yeah!
But there are still more from the grandparents!
There are still lots of gifts to open form Bren's grandparents!
Christmas in the US is quite different from Christmas in Japan!
The presents are grander!
You may get just one nice thing in Japan,.

really like American Christmas
It has such a magical atmosphere!
It's a very happy day.
It's not all about dating.
Yeah, in Japan everyone just goes on a date for Christmas.
America's Christmas is kind of like Japanese New Years
You send relaxing time with family at the end of the year.
In America, it feels like the holiday lasts from Christmas until New Years Day.
Plus there is Thanksgiving too!
Yeah!
So, in America, you don't really have any time after the new year begins, like people do in Japan.
After January first most people are back at work here.
It's a little different from Japan.
But it's a nice long holiday from Christmas to New Years Day!
