hi again everyone welcome to another video from 2tu Guitars and this week
we're gonna feature one of my favourite guitars
it's the American-made Fender Highway 1 Telecaster
season's greetings to all this video was going out just after Christmas 2018 so I hope you all had a
very Merry Christmas best wishes to all and good luck for 2019
so back to the video here we have a 2006 American-made Fender Highway 1 Telecaster
the Highway 1 series was Fender's most affordable USA made range of guitars they were brought
out in the early 2000s and they lasted until 2010
they were replaced in the Fender catalog by the American Special series which has recently had the revamp
and is now called the Fender American Performer series
the Highway 1 series went through one complete revision during its time in catalog and that was around 2006
it has a alder body with a daphne blue finish and the finish has a satin
feel to it so that once it's been played it ages along with the guitar
it has a three ply white pickguard two hot vintage style single coil Telecaster pickups
with Alnico 3 magnets a vintage style three saddle chrome bridge the
usual Telecaster controls master volume master tone and a 3-way selector switch
as is usual for a Telecaster the jack input is side mounted to the body
we have through body stringing and we have a four bolt blank neckplate
the neck is made of maple it has a maple fingerboard and 22 Jumbo style frets
the scale length of the guitar is the usual twenty five and a half inches for a Fender
and the fretboard radius is nine and a half inches it's a modern C shape neck profile
the position inlays are black dot and it has a synthetic bone nut which is 42 millimeters wide
we have one string tree and a 70 Style Fender Telecaster logo
we have the serial number on the back with six Fender cast sealed tuners
next we'll give a little introduction to the pickup's will do each position in turn
on the 3-way selector switch and we'll start off with the neck pickup
[guitar playing]
so that was the neck people and now we'll go to the middle position which is the
neck and bridge pickups together
[guitar playing]
so that was the middle position and that was the neck and bridge pickups together
and now we'll go to the final position which is the bridge pickup on its own
[guitar playing]
so that was the bridge pickup and that was just a little introduction to the
pickups and the positions on the 3-way selector switch
so that's the 2006 Fender Highway 1 Telecaster
an alder body with a daphne blue finish
three ply white pickguard
vintage style Telecaster bridge with three chrome saddles
usual Telecaster controls master volume master tone and 3-way selector switch
it has two hot vintage single coil Telecaster pickups with Alnico 3 magnets
