USA news on Youtube Dec 30 2018

Hey, what's up this is Mikey at Blue Monkey Bicycles and in this video we're going to

take a look at APT Displays.

*Intro

A lot of time and effort goes into building a finished electric bike.

Each little piece has to be put together in a web of collaborations that make a really

nice finished whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

APT Displays makes displays.

Just displays.

And they make a lot of different displays for a lot of different electric bikes.

Some that you may have seen before.

They have models for a single color LCD as well as a full-color awesomeness display.

A large part of their market is Europe and the far East, but as of recently they're being

seen here in the United States.

One model in particular that they were very excited to show me is this one right here:

It has a full color speedometer display and a very streamlined side mount and it also

has a vibration feature to keep your eyes on the road.

And those are just the highlights.

Even at that kind of tech level, APT is pumping out about 1000 of these everyday (but usually

a lot more).

Aside from assembly, they also produce in-house SMT circuit board production using high-quality

machine for both populating the boards and variance checking.

These very machines are the same models used to produce circuit boards for Samsung.

Which, based on the staggering quantity that they produce, has a very low failure rate.

As you can imagine, this video was sponsored by APT displays.

I was invited out to tour their facility and see first hand their production line, as well

as attempt to chat to their engineers, I got to learn more about the 15 year company history,

and I got eat some traditional Chinese food!

APT is in Tianjin where the locals really enjoy this.. kinda like... churro sort of

thing...

Imagine a really tough, dense churro, with a really distinct nut flavor instead of cinnamon.

If you're ever there you gotta try 'em.

Anyways.

I was very impressed with APT Displays.

Aside from the large scale at which they produce their product, I genuinely like the displays

I saw.

There is a lot of movement in the display market right now.

There's new models popping up all the time.

(And that means job security for me!)

But really, I'm excited to learn more about APT Displays and I'm really excited to share

more of that with you.

If you want to see their website go to: aptdevelop.com.

If you have any questions about my time at the factory, I'd be happy to help.

If you want to see some other factory tours from the trip to China, you can check out

this playlist here.

I'm Mikey for Blue Monkey Bicycles, and I'll see you on the later!
