I really wanted to show you, to prove you why autumn, why fall

whatever you prefer, I'm gonna explain the difference in some minutes, is my favorite season

I'm going to tell you how fall is here in the US, more specifically here in Iowa

because that's where I live

Well, before we start, if it's your first time here in my channel don't forget to subscribe here below

feel free to activate the subtitles below, either in Portuguese or in English

Ok so the first question is: What is the difference between fall and autumn?

Yeah I know that's a very common question and it's very simple!

Here in the US, people call this season, this beautiful season FALL

Ok but, why FALL?

Because that's when the leaves FALL

And in British English they call it autumn. But there's something really interesting regarding this season

before the 16th century, it was called HARVEST

Why harvest? Because that's the moment when they have to HARVEST all the vegetables, fruits

all the food that they have planted before because within a month it's going to be really really cold

it's going to snow so, they have to save all the food that they have planted before

Talking about snow, I'd like to mention about the weather because

in this time of the year the temperature tends to drop a lot

I mean, you can tell by my clothes, by my scarf

This morning for instance it was 3 degrees and if felt like it was 0.

Yes it is very beautiful indeed, I mean the colors and everything, it's breathtaking

but if you live in a house where's there a beautiful tree like that

you gotta save some extra time to clean everything

Yes, because the leaves are going to start falling and you know you're gonna need some equipment to clean it

There are 2 options that I would like to introduce you: there's the rack and also the blower

So that's the rack that I told you. Basically what we have to do is just, to pull like that

And this little thing is a blower. So how does this thing work, Erika?

And another interesting thing is that, every week there's a vacuum truck

This vacuum truck is from the city hall but it goes from street to street vacuuming all these leaves

that people just bring to the front. I did shot something for you!

Well, another reason why I love this season so much is related to the colors,

you can see so many different colors is it's really impressive

I mean, trees turn from green to yellow, red, purple, orange,,,,

Well another interesting thing about this time of the year is that products here are usually very seasonal

So whenever you go to a supermarket, to a store, you are going to start seeing much more

warmer products, or products related to the snow or things like this, than to the summer

And they love decorating their houses with pumpkins, things related to Halloween

and also things related to the fall. Well, and talking a little bit more about pumpkins

it's very common to find those very huge pumpkins here and first of all they just buy it and put it in front of their houses to decorate

And these are the pumpkins, I'm still decorating my house so these are the pumpkins

that I told you that I paid 2 dollars each

Next Friday is going to be the last one of the month

so usually people get together so they start carving the pumpkin

because they're gonna use it for Halloween, so they usually make some scary faces

and after Halloween they use the pumpkins to make some pies or really good desserts.

And another interesting thing is that Americans or more specific the Iowans - I don't know if it's generic

but Americans are very supersticious. They believe if you catch some leaves on the ground, it's gonna bring you some good luck

Every leaf means a lucky month next year. I don't know if it's true of not but who am I to contradic them

So I'm going to start getting my 12 leaves, four....

I think I'll just try to get 14 you know, in case a leaf is damaged or is not a lucky leaf

Ok guys?! So that's it for today, I really hope you have enjoyed this video

it was a very simple one but I believe it was a very beautiful and different as well

it's not every day that we come here to talk about fall and also some curiosities regarding the USA

Well and if you liked my video don't forge to thumbs up for me

You know it motivates me a lot so don't forget to do it and share this video with your friends as well

Ok guys!? So take care of yourselves and see you next video! Bye

Woman with nose bleeds in China finds tooth in nose - Duration: 4:05.

Chinese woman who suffered mysterious nosebleeds for decades is shocked to discover a TOOTH growing in her nose

When a woman from China suffered constant nosebleeds for decades, few people could have predicted the cause, a tooth growing in her nose.

The patient, identified only by her surname Xia, believed for years that she had severe case of rhinitis, an inflammation of the nose membrane.

But a scan proved otherwise and the 57-year-old was shocked to discover she had a tooth growing in her nasal cavity.

Doctors at Hunan Provincial Peoples Hospital, in Changsha, in south central part of the country, said when they first saw the strange circular object lodged in the womans nose they didnt immediately know what it was.

Ear, nose and throat specialist Zhou Jianpo said: Scans showed a high-density shadow in her right nasal cavity.

We thought it was a foreign object or some sort of stone.

However, after taking Xia into surgery, they peeled back layer after layer of membrane and discovered what turned out to be a fully grown tooth inside the womans nasal cavity, complete with root and crown.

The tooth was pulled from her nose and she has since reported much relief from her symptoms, which as well as decades of nosebleeds include feelings of stuffiness.

Dr Zhou said the condition is known as supernumerary teeth, which causes an extra tooth or teeth to grow in often random places on the face.

The condition is present at birth and the medic notes that the tooth develops during pregnancy.

In August this year an eight-year-old boy from Zhejiang Province in eastern China was also found with a supernumerary tooth in his nasal cavity.

The condition is extremely rare, with fewer than 20 documented cases in all of China.

A dentist explained that extra teeth are not that unusual, but they rarely grow inside the nose.

Up to 3.9 per cent of people have more teeth that usual and they can erupt in unexpected places, according to previous studies.

Around a third of mesiodens (a common type of extra tooth found near the incisors) develop upside down and can travel towards the nose.

No-one is exactly sure why some people have this problem, but the report says: 'causes of intranasal teeth include trauma, infection, anatomical malformations, and genetic factors.' Extra teeth can appear in the palette as a normal looking extra tooth, or can grow into the nasal cavity in rare cases.

Symptoms of such a problem include a blocked nose, headaches, nose bleeds, foul-smelling mucus and even external deformities of the nose. .
