There is one guy...
His life is belaying!
Many people have never seen this man,
and many people have never even heard of this man.
I don't know if you have ever almost been struck by lightning,
but it's the same when you're around him.
You feel like your hair is standing on end, but it's not.
You have kind of like butterflies in your stomach, or like...
Maybe it's like your first kiss when you are a kid.
You are super nervous and it's amazing...
That's kind of the only way I can relate it.
I have seen him do these moves...
They're just impossible!
Well, we only spent a few hours together,
but it was just… Wow!
I belay roughly 250 days a year,
at all sorts of crags and for all types of climbers.
In the winter, I head south to Spain to continue belaying.
I also belay in climbing gyms since everyone needs a belayer.
I belay something like 400kg to 500kg of climbers per day.
That's 6 to 8 hours per day on average, 6 days in a row.
Then I need to take a day off, to give my neck a rest...
No I don't climb.
I'm a belayer.
C'mon my friend, I'm right with you!
Piece of cake, that's it!
If you want to be the best belayer in the world,
you need to accomplish all Seven Summits.
You need to be a high-mountain guide.
You need to be a PhD in at least 3 different subjects.
And you have to have a political career.
Oh… maybe not a political career...
From birth, you must be trained,
and basically evolve your own human body
into a new form of human being actually.
Basically the world's best belayer has a reinforced neck,
and has an incredible ability to be stationary on the ground.
How could I not dream to be belayed by the world's best belayer?
Maybe I'd be able to climb the next level at that stage?
Maybe it wouldn't be a sport route...
Does he come up multi-pitch?
He is the best belayer because I know he is always there with me.
100% focused.
And that means I can give it 100%.
He doesn't even recognize human beings as existing.
He is more using them as an object,
in which he can interact with the Art of Belaying.
The world's best belayer? He is rumored to exist,
But he has the beta on every single move,
so when you get your hands wrong, he gets you out of that situation.
Seven clips to the right, not eight.
It's not just about knowing they're a good belayer,
you need to have a higher relationship.
It's kind of an unwritten code, you don't even need to speak.
You just know. It's just together.
No worries, it's all good.
You'll send it.
The best belayer in the world?
He's somebody who will pat you on the back,
and give you a hug when you're feeling down.

Basically the world best belayer is telepathic most likely,
and has an instinct.
It doesn't matter what words are said.
It's eyes-closed navigation.
Everything is communicated,
somehow.
You have to be able to predict any circumstance,
which is why I think that precognition
is probably the only way to truly achieve this.
Basically they can leave their body
and see things from any perspective,
at any point.
Only people with precognitive sense
can truly prevent real accidents,
and keep you safe.
You need to be able to see every variable in the future possible,
for every moment that could possibly happen.

Everyone knows he is the world's best belayer.
Trouble is he's very expensive, he charges film-star rates.
I've called him so many times to see if he can come and belay me,
but he never got back to me...
He's just a busy guy, you know.
But maybe someday...
When I will find my perfect belayer,
it will be love...
at first belay!

That's going just a bit too far.
People say that he is not bad...
But to go from "not bad" to "better than me"!!
When he belayed me and I sent my route,
I actually broke down in tears,
just because I was so emotional,
this man was so incredible.
Basically I was moved.
I had never experienced anything like that,
and it changed my life.
