hey guys welcome back so I received so
many comments I think just over a
thousand in a week regarding my
torrenting video now there was a common
theme in some of those comments I would
say about five or so different themes
everything from like this is utter BS -
things like I agree with you you know I
also received a letter do things like
this is just a total VPN sales page and
stuff like that so I thought make a
quick video and answer those comments or
questions and hope to give you more for
inside because I think there was some
confusion from some of the comments that
I saw so it all of that being said let's
get started
okay so theme number one the video that
I made was total B it's lies you
navigate let her I've been torrenting
since 2001 2002 since ninety since the
80s since the dawn of fax machines are
been turning I've never got Lata and
yada yada yada
well guys in my video I didn't say that
you're defecating to get letter in fact
I said it's more likely to be the
opposite whereby you could be turning
for 100 years and not have any problems
it all boils down to your country your
ISP and most importantly the actual
thing that you're downloading so for
example if you are downloading a Linux
distribution or a software patch you're
not going to get any kind of letter you
not only any kind of warning similarly
for downloading maybe a movie from you
know 30 years ago perhaps again most
likely you're not going to get letter
but it really does depend on what you're
actually downloading okay so the next
theme that we had was my entire video is
just a VPN sales page I'm forcing you to
get a VPN I'm scare mongering you I'm
telling you that if you don't get a VPN
you're gonna get arrested if you don't
have a VPN on when using torrents the
authorities are gonna come and get you
the FBI will come and chase you the CIA
or all the other big boys all gonna come
after you if you don't have a VPN when
you go to the toilet it's gonna cause
you problems oh and stuff like that
again guys if all I wanted to do was
just so you VPN I would have said it a
lot differently I would have said like
you know guys be careful like you know
don't you dare turn your computer on
without using a VPN if you use torrents
without a VPN you're definitely gonna
get a letter
no question about it if you use anything
on your computer that a VPN the
authorities are gonna know what you're
doing if you do any kind of streaming
without a VPN you're definitely gonna
get a letter and stuff like that but did
I actually say that why she said was now
let me just say one more time in a sense
like you know you can't download
copyrighted content but if nobody cares
or I eat the copyright holder doesn't
care then it's not gonna make a
difference for you you know gonna get
any letter nobody's gonna knock on your
door the police are not gonna arrest you
nothing like that so I thought I was
pretty clear guys I was just reaffirming
once again
all boils down to what you're actually
downloading what country you're in and
who your ISP is and again if I just want
to push a VPN I would have said it like
guys all of your gonna get letter if you
don't use VPN we're using torrents
you're 100% gonna get a letter but
definitely didn't say that next up we
had some really interesting comments
from people all over the world who are
also sharing their stories about when
they got a letter when they go an email
and when downloading torrents lets us
take a look at a few of them first up we
have a comment from subbu keeper who
says the worst is if you live in Germany
usually you'll get a notice to pay a few
hundred euros or they'll sue you in
court so you can see once again guys it
does determine or it does depend on
which country you're in which will
determine what the copyright holders if
they'll take any action or not he didn't
gos want to say the rest of Europe is
pretty safe in Poland we just don't
download anything polish I will end up
with the police taking our hard drives
well that does sound pretty extreme
there so that's one comment from subbu
keeper next up we have a comment from
Connie Starr who says me and a buddy of
mine have the same ISP and we berth
downloaded torrents I stopped when I
collect her he didn't and they Saudis
connection down he kept on downloading
until they shot his internet off he's
not banned from using said ISP so I did
actually read a similar comment from
another person who was saying that there
they kept on getting letters from the
ISP
and I think once they got to I think six
or so letters though I speed just
branded them so this goes back to my
other point of it depends on what you're
downloading also who is your ISP and how
strict they're going to be because we
can see clearly summarized P's really
don't care but there are others out
there that will take some action and if
you keep on using torrents and ignoring
their warnings either they'll disconnect
to you although just thought to your
connection to make your torrents
unusable we then have a comment from
sumo and we can see this is a complete
contrast to the previous comment and he
says my cousin had downloaded a movie of
torrents and a couple of weeks later he
got a letter in his mouth threatening to
sue him if he did any illegal torrenting
again it was all crap because he
continued to use torrents and he hasn't
heard from them since so this goes back
to the point where some ISPs won't
really care and although they will give
you a warning they're not going to do
anything else about it
last thought we have a comment
iron beam 14 and I think in this case
this is probably one of the most severe
kind of incidents of what could
potentially happen if you were caught
using torrents and in his case he was
downloading some shows from NBC's and a
couple other things
he got warning from his ISP then
eventually they just you know closed off
his internet and just reading this down
here now yeah so then when he cooled
them up to say you know what's going on
he was advised that his internet had to
remain suspended for six months guys I
mean that must have been pretty shocking
Mahina she writes I almost fell over
when they said this he did actually
write a letter and said that it was his
seven-year-old son or maybe his neighbor
that were using his Wi-Fi to do these
downloads and although they did turn his
internet back on for seven days while
they reviewed his letter
they eventually just disagreed with
their and his service went off again so
and I was the start of six month
suspension guys so I mean it's probably
the most severe case of what could
happen but it doesn't take away of how
bad it was so I do feel sorry for the
guy and then so these two really
interesting comments as well which had a
love-in soy firstly from uber fish who
said that I used to work for an ISP back
in 2004 2008 and even back then they
send letters to people telling them that
they they were downloading illegal falls
through torrents and to stop doing there
so just shows even back then the ISPs
could see what people were downloading
but actual requests came from the
copyright holders so the copyright
holders would reach out at the ISP and
tell them that your subscribers are
downloading this content and they need
to stop here and then he goes on to say
the good news is all we had to do was
send a letter nothing else if a person
kept on doing gear we just kept sending
them note he emails
some ISPs will cancel your service
however if you keep causing problems so
it just goes back to the point that it
does depend on who your ISP is to
determine what kind of action they will
take lastly we have this comment from
Eugene who says the movie companies used
the ISPs to enforce a DMCA laws which is
a Digital Millennium Copyright Act osp's
hate using the resources to enforce his
laws to help the movie companies the ISP
does not gain anything from enforcing
these laws for the movie companies by
the end of the day if
ISP ignores the warnings from the
copyright holders then potentially the
copyright holders could sue the ISP
saying you know your subscribers are
downloading our content and no doing
anything about it so basically the ISPs
just have to show that look we are doing
something we sent out a warning we sent
out an email we sent out a letter so
just to sort of have that compliance
that we're not ignoring the fact we are
doing something about it but again does
depend on who your ISP is and if they
really do care about these DMCA warnings
