USA news on Youtube Nov 28 2018

Girls taking off their tights is kinda erotic.

D-Don't watch, dummy!

Feels good!

What's with this beach? It's the best!

It indeed is the best.

Why do you keep staring at my legs!?

They're wonderful.

Don't look at Big Sister's body with lewd eyes!

I want them to sandwich me.

Specifically, I mean my face.

The thought that it's okay if it's your head is totally crazy. You should die.

If it was Mai-san, she'd say, "Sandwiching a young boy's head with my legs is nothing."

Big Sis, what part of this guy do you like so much?

Hey, bro, this jacket is dope!

Where did you get it from?

Thank you. What do you mean? My jacket is dope and sick. What does that mean?

Dope and sick?

Hey guys

It's Sam here.

It's Danny here.

So welcome back to our channel.

Today, we're doing a video on the 10 most popular slang phrases and words in North America in the English language

Let's start.

Okay

So, I guess using slang is a big part of people's daily life.

I remember when I first came to Canada, I didn't really know what the kids are talking about back in the day

because they were using slang.

These slangs are actually -- they have an expiry date

So, it might be popular for a couple years and then the next year they might come up with some new slangs,

especially in social media nowadays

they're constantly creating new slangs that people are using

and that you have to keep up because otherwise you're just --

you just like --

Yeah, you fall behind.

You fall so behind because slangs just keep constantly --

Yeah, it's always evolving.

Exactly. So today we're going to share the 10 most popular slangs in 2018

which you can hear every single day on the people's daily life.

Let's start!

So number one.

A few slang words to describe that something is excellent or great or amazing.

So these are

cool

awesome

wicked

sick

dope

tight

beauty

and bomb

Yeah, so all these words, the literal translation is something totally different, not "excellent".

But when you talk about in slang, it means "excellent"

Exactly

So, like I said, you can say that's a dope jacket or that's a sick car.

Sick, or dope, these just mean something is very cool, very, very great.

and these are very, very common

I guess we use it every single day

Yeah

Okay, number two

Stoked

Stoked means excited

You can say, especially for snowboarders or all those people doing those extreme sports, they use the word stoked a lot

Like, I'm so stoked about snowboarding tomorrow, or I'm so stoked about the Super Bowl next year

So these are like -- stoked it's a pretty common slang.

Yeah, it's pretty common.

Yeah, I guess your brother use them quite often too, right?

Yeah.

So speaking of brothers, so let's move on to number three

So here's a few slang words that you describe a friend

A male friend

A male friend. You know, you call them brother

What else you call them?

Bro, or buddy, or homie

Yeah, or like dude.

So like, hey dude or like, hey champ, hey bro

Alright, so slang number four

When you say something like it's alright. You know, it's okay, it's alright

you can say no worries

No worries

so I can say, hey sorry that I am late

Oh it's okay. No worries.

Or I could just say, I'm sorry, babe -- like I use it all the time on the phone

I'll be like, sorry babe, I'm late. I'm just, you know, the traffic jam

I'm so sorry. I'm going to be 10 minutes late.

Well, I could say, it's okay, no worries. But usually I just get mad.

Yeah. So you can say, yeah, no worries. Hey, no worries. No worries. Okay

Yeah

It's my favorite word. No worries. You know, I'm always positive.

I will say no worries. Don't worry about it. No worries

So literally it means, just don't worry about it. Or that's okay, it's all right

Yeah, don't stress over it.

Very, very useful word

Number five.

Chill

So chill is one of my favorite words, for slang

So chill basically means --

you can either describe someone who is very easygoing and very laid-back

or you can mean something is just so awesome and great

So you can say, hey how do you like Mike? How do you like our manager Mike?

You can say, oh --

He's so chill.

He's so chill. He's such a --

He's cool and laid-back

He's chill and laid-back. He's very chill. You know, he's a chill guy

Also, it means something like hang out.

If you want to hang out with someone you can say, let's chill

instead of saying let's hang out, let's gather together, do something

You say, hey buddy let's chill. Let's chill tonight. Let's Netflix and chill

Netflix and chill

Netflix and chill

I think that means something else.

Whatever, but it's a very, very common word that you should use on your daily basis. It just means hang out

All right, but don't tell girls that you want to netflix and chill

Yeah, that means something else.

Alright. Let's move on to slang number six

Lit

Lit is the word that I actually didn't know until probably four or five weeks ago

when I hear other people saying it and then I start to like try to search it and then figure out what that means

And I see people -- those rappers, those celebrities use the word all the time, they use the word lit all the time.

So, finally I figured out what that means

It has two meanings, right?

It has two meanings. So either it means something is amazing or awesome just like, wicked dope and sick.

It means something is lit

For example, like a party. It's like, oh my god, this is the best party. It's so lit.

Yeah, I think yeah, you describe an event, you wouldn't describe a person

Yeah, you don't --

You don't say like that guy is lit.

Yeah --

I mean, maybe, bu it's not common

Yeah, you don't say someone --

It's more like an event.

Yeah, you say like, oh the Drake concert last week was lit.

Yeah

So it means that it's all awesome, so great, right?

or it can also mean like, you know, I see celebrities nowadays say like oh my god, I was so lit last night

oh my god, it's so crazy, the party's so crazy, I'm so lit, I was so lit

It means that you were so drunk, like you're drinking too much

We don't drink but yeah

That's why we don't catch that phrase that much, because we don't drink but we hear people saying that a lot.

Lit .

So are you guys still with me? You guys still enjoying our video so far?

We have more stuff coming up, okay?

Okay. So --

moving on.

Phrase number seven

This is the phrase that I actually use all the time.

It's when someone's inviting you to do something and you agree, you can say I'm game

or I'm down or yeah, I'm in

It's literally just saying yes. Sure. Let's go

So it's very common

If someone asked you, hey Samar, you want to get pizza tonight?

Yeah, I'm down

Yeah? Samar do you want to get wontons?

Yeah, I'm game.

Alright. So yeah, I'm game, I'm down. These are very very common phrases.

So these are very common slang

Yeah

All right

Slang number eight

Legit

Legit is the word that I used all the time this year

I don't know, I love using this word because I hear other people using it all the time.

So legit, it means something that is real and not fake or something is really cool.

You can say oh my god, this jacket is so legit. This Versace jacket, Versace -- this Versace jacket is legit.

So it means it's so real, it's so authentic, it's so cool

or you can say, my god, this Indian food, this Indian curry is so legit.

It means it's just so authentic.

It's such authentic Indian food, you can say it's so legit.

Yeah

How often do you use legit?

I use it every now and then.

Yeah? It's pretty common right?

Yeah, it's really common.

Alright, so let's move on to number nine

Number nine is a good one

I'm good.

So when someone asks you to do something and you don't feel like doing it, just say I'm good

so basically it means like no thanks

Yeah it's like saying no thanks

So you can say, do you want me to buy some curry tonight?

I'm good.

You're good? Okay. Do you want have some sweets?

I'm good.

How about some candies?

Okay, I'll have candy.

Yeah, okay, she want to have candies. She's never going to say I'm good for candies.

Yeah.

Yeah, candy is always good

All right, so

So last but not least

Last but not least, be a good sport about something.

It means when someone is playing fair

or you know, whether it's a defeat or victory and someone is just really easygoing

you can say someone is a good sport

Or you can say, be a good sport

You know, a good example is like, I know you're disappointed that you lost this game, but you can be a good sport.

or when you watch a soccer game and your team lost the game and you start going crazy

you start swearing, someone can say, hey man, be a good sport

you know, be someone who is easygoing, who plays fair

who is just gracious, whose gracious about the defeat, you say be a good sport.

I use it quite often

What do you think?

Yeah

Good. All right
