Good morning, coming to you from West Wendover.
This campground isn't really special.
But... on the bright side...
The showers are excellent here at the KOA camp ground...
...and that is exactly what we needed after two days in the 'wilderness'.
Today we will try to reach California.
This can be done by taking Highway 80.
I-80
But there is also an alternative route...
...and that's the one we are going to take.
More on this later on in this episode.
This is the most important one, right there.
We just arrived in dessert town Ely.
And this is the starting point of our trip on the Loneliest Road in de USA...
...from Ely to Reno.
Now, we have heard about the 'Hwy 50 Survival Guide' that can be collected at this hotel here...
... and we just did.
So, let the journey commence.
But, are we well prepared?

Full tank? -Check!

... so we are going to organise a little photo shoot.

Good morning, it's 9.00 am.
We are in Fallon, still along Highway 50.
The plan today is first to collect another stamp here in Fallon...
and then to collect another stamp or two...
And finally to reach the San Francisco area.
Nice one.
Our fifth stamp already!
Are you guys having fun? - Oh yes.
Oh yes, really fun.
The final stamp has been collected, here in Carson City.
This means, we have reached our goal.
We even got more than five stamps, we got six.
The card with stamps and our home address has been deposited
And now on to Petaluma, as fast as we can...
in any event, a village north of San Francisco...
... let's go.
It's 8.15 pm already here in Petaluma...
... near Napa...
...about an hour and a half north of San Francisco.
We have a reservation for a campground.
Now we are going to handle the formalities...
...and then we will see what site they have assigned to us.
