Hey Marines General Neller coming to you from Camp Shorabak in Afghanistan.

We've just released this year's message to the force the title is 'Execute'.

I need everybody to take the time to read it and talk about it within your chain of command.

I need our leaders and all our junior leaders to sit down and discuss

the ideas and thoughts that are in this document.

Live in the title you've earned as a Marine, honing our combat skills

and leading like you want to be led.

I believe these things are all important themes for us.

We're making great progress in a lot of areas but we've got room to grow and room to get better and

we always have to try to get better.

So I appreciate your effort, I appreciate the support of our families,

If there ever was a time for there to be Marines or for the nation and need their Marines it's now.

Expect more from us.

Because we tell them they should expect more.

Because we tell them we have the hardest training.

We tell them that we get the best people.

We tell them that we exhibit the virtues of honor, courage, and commitment.

You're a United States Marine.

Just because you've got that EGA in boot camp that's just the beginning,

and we really have to think about living to this image.

In everything that we do as individuals and as units.

Because the American people expect us to.

You know we took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of United States

against all enemies foreign and domestic, and to bear true faith and allegiance to the same.

Not when it's convenient.

Not when you feel like it.

Not when I'm not too tired and not when it's not a bother to me.

We have to live this image.

We know who the leaders are who set the best example

through their conduct, through their actions, through their words the things

that they do and I think all of us in that area need to up our game.

Leaders at all ranks must live and model the behavior we want our subordinates to

emulate. Our Marines want to be inspired. They expect that our leadership will be admirable in all things.
