Hows it going Youtube I am Landon Dowlatsingh and this is where I talk about the news or
anything else trending in the news.
I have so much to talk about today so lets just jump right into all of todays stories.
One of the most talked about things right now is about Larry Nassar.
Larry was a former USA Gymnastics, and Michigan State University doctor who worked with some
of the top athletes in the world.
Hundreds of athletes came forward and filed lawsuits against him.
Some of these athletes are Gabby Douglas, she was a part of the national gymnastics
team who was dubbed the fierce fives by the media during the summer Olympics.
She has 3 gold medals in the Olympics.
Simone Biles was also sexually assaulted by Larry.
She recently just won 4 gold medals and 1 bronze medal at the Olympics in Gymnastics
as well.
It seems like the whole American Gymnastics team was sexually abused because Jordyn Wieber
was also on the list.
All of these girls were in their teens when the incidents happened.
A lot of the victims showed up during court and they had a chance to speak.
3 of his victims were under the age of 13 yrs old.
Well Larry Nassar has just been sentenced to 40 - 175 yrs in prison for decades for
the sexual abuse that he admitted to.
This is a huge range.
40 yrs was a sentence previously agreed to by Nassar last year when he pleaded guilty
to 7 counts of first- degree criminal sexual misconduct, and he pleaded guilty to child
pornography charges.
According to the FBI over 37,000 images and videos of child pornography were seized from
Larrys home including a GoPro video of Larry molesting girls in a swimming pool.
Well Larry Nassar appeared in court again where the judge described him as a dangerous
individual who shows little to no remorse.
The judge also said she's signing his death warrant.
The judge believes in rehabilitations but for Larry Nassar she does not want him to
get out of prison any time soon.
In total their was actually 3 big sentencing.
The 40 yrs I told you about, there is also a 25-40 yrs in prison for more criminal sexual
conduct, and back in November of last year he was sentencing to at least 25 yrs.
So there is many different prison sentencing because of the different crimes this guy committed.
So that's the reason for the huge range in sentencing.
The Judge also had this to say.
Shutting the door on him is a prison door.
Hes not coming out between the three senteces that he will get.
So you shouldn't be scared anymore.
This has become one of the biggest sexual abuse scandals in sports history.
Because of all of this the national governing body for the sport announced that the top
executives are stepping down.
Chairman Paul Parilla, Vice Chairman Jay Binder and Treasurer Bitsy Kelley have all resigned
effective immeditally.
They probably all stepped down because they feel like they have failed the sports world
in keeping it safe.
They had no part in this scandal but they felt like a change is necessary moving forward
to gain the trust and confidence with the athletes and the public again.
Another really big story is about Logan Paul.
Courtney talked about his first video back in yesterdays video.
Today he is suppose to upload his second video back from taking time off from Youtube after
he posted a video of a dead person.
A lot of people had mixed reviews on it.
Rob Dyke took it to twitter to say this.
I think Logan Paul still doesn't get it.
This isn't about your journey to understanding suicide.
It isn't about making a short film where you're yet again the star.
Way to commercialize this even further.
No normal person needs tobe taught compassion for suicide victims.
Devon said, Guys please be easy on Logan Paul he didn't know suicide existed.
KingBach a friend of Logans said, Proud of you for this.
And than he shared Logans video.
I am not sure how I feel about the video.
He didn't seem genuine.
He kinda used this as a way to take his videos to the next level when it comes to production
value.
I don't know what his next vlog video will be about, he might just slowly go back into
the hyper guy that he is.
We now know he has a PR team behind him helping him make these moves.
Everything is very calculated now.

And logan paul did donate 1 million dollars to suicide prevention.
And Logan Pauls video is trending again on youtubes home page.
We all know Youtube hand selects which vidoes go on their home page for whats trending its
not nessassraly the most views videos of the day.
So it seems like Youtube might be giving him a little bit of a break, but if you guys do
type in logan paul into the youtube search logans pauls own videos don't even come
up.
He has been majorly de-ranked in the algorithms.
Also in the news was a man who was taking a selfie in front of a speeding train.
He was hit by the train and is now suffering from severee injuries.
He was rushed to the hospital.
Hopefully he is ok.
But this is just the stupidest thing ever.
Toys R Us has just announced they are planning on closing more than 180 us stores.
This is about one fifth of their stores.
They recently declared bankruptcy and now they have to close up shop.
The store has been around since 1948 and has been a mega hit, but now it just seems like
everything is online and companies like Amazon is the reasons why retail stores are struggling.
Another sad story is Ed Sheeran has just announced when he will quit producing music.
Is this real life right now.
Ed Sheeran has just got engaged to Cherry Seborn and now I guess she is stealing him
away.
Ed Sheeran told the media this.
My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids.
I am going to be like I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care
of.
Right now he is 26 yrs old and he wants to start a family before 30.
So we only have a few more years to enjoy the very talents Ed Sheeran.
I think he has gone crazy, and I am hoping for a come back in the near future.
Elton John who is another legend he is also quitting.
He has just made his announcement that he will no longer be touring.
His career has lasted for about 50 yrs and he is ready to give it all up.
He is 70 yrs old and I think he deserves to retire.
50 cent has also been in the news.
I don't even know what hes been up to lately but he has just announced that he has actually
earned millions of dollars from selling his albums for bitcoins.
Let me explain back in 2014 he released his album Animal ambition and he accepted bitcoins
to be a form of payment.
Well he received around $662 in bitcoins.
For some reason he just held onto it probably not caring he has them.
Well that's probably one of his biggest investments because they are now worth around
8.5 million dollars.
Which is so crazy because people gave him millions of dollars just for an album.
Here is a crazy story, back in 2010 a developed bought 2 pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins.
Well today those coins are worth 100 million dollars which makes those pizzas the worlds
most expensive pizzas.
I bet that guy felt like an idiot.
I have some updates for stories we talked about.
Remember these two people right here.
Well this is David and Louise Turpin the California couple who were accused of torturing 12 of
their kids.
Well after a hearing in state superior court the couple has been banned from directly contacting
their kids for the next 3 years as this case goes to trial.
Their kids are ages 2 to 29 yrs old and they were beaten and chained up in a small dark
room as a punishment.
It wasn't until one of the sisters was able to escape and get help.
When police found the kids they original thought they were very young because of how small
and frail they were.
They were small because they were being starved to death.
They were taken to the hospital and are recovering from the years of abuse and neglect.
