United States 'could INVADE Venezuela as tanks and missiles prepared'

Nicolas Maduro made a number of shocking remarks during a speech at a military parade, including telling soldiers to have their rifles, tanks and missiles ready to fire.

He said: We have been shamelessly threatened by the most criminal empire that ever existed and we have the obligation to prepare ourselves to guarantee peace.

We need to have rifles, missiles and well-oiled tanks at the ready.to defend every inch of the territory if needs be.". READY: Venezuelas President ordered his military to prepare to be attacked.

It comes just days after US President Donald Trump added the South American country to its controversial list of citizens banned from entering the United States.

The new rules mean certain government officials and their families cannot get visas to enter the country. He also appeared to hit out at Trump's furious rhetoric on North Korea.

Maduro warned the future of humanity "cannot lie in the threats of nuclear strikes or military invasions", adding Venezuela is a country that "does not bomb anyone or interfere in the internal affairs of any country.".

The United States has had an increasingly tense relationship with Venezuela after accusing its leadership of holding an "illegitimate" election in July. The US has also imposed sanctions on the oil-rich country that are designed to strangle its energy sector.

And Trump has urged the European Union to join in the sanctions – something Maduro's government has said is an act of "political and psychological terrorism".

Trump proposes major tax cuts - Duration: 1:57.

U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed what he calls "the largest tax cuts in American

history."

Speaking at an event in Indiana on Wednesday, Trump said he wanted to make the tax code

simpler and fairer for all Americans.

Ro Aram has the details.

President Trump insists the tax cuts are aimed at helping the middle class and that they

will help bring back more jobs and wealth to the United States.

(English) AP 4118327 / 2 "…. We will ensure that the benefits are

focused on the middle class, the working men and women, not the highest income earners….

we will bring back our jobs.

We will bring back our wealth and for every citizen across this land, we will bring back

our great American dreams"

The plan would lower seven tax bands to three, but what income levels would qualify for each

rate is unknown.

The top marginal tax rate would also be cut from 39-point-six percent to 35 percent.

The amount of tax individuals and families can deduct will nearly double to 12,000 and

24,000 dollars, respectively.

For businesses, the corporate tax will be slashed from 35 to 20 percent.

This all sounds promising, but Democrats are criticizing the plan as favoring the rich

and it is also sparking concerns that it could add trillions of dollars to the national debt

over the next decade.

President Trump's proposal outlines many cuts, but there's little detail about how deficits

will be paid for.

Republicans are desperate for a legislative victory after failing to overhaul the country's

healthcare system and they have been trying to rewrite the U.S. tax code, which was last

revised in 1986.

The GOP now faces a tough battle in Congress to endorse the tax reform plan, which could

take months.
