NIBIRU FOUND? Shock video footage of 'Planet X UFO' soaring over USA

Scores of conspiracy theorists expected the mysterious Planet X, known as Nibiru, to arrive in the skies on Saturday, September 23, to herald the apocalypse.

The spectacular theory gained a lot of traction and media attention but the world continues.  Nibiru which is said to orbit the sun every 3,600 years and is 10 times the size of Earth, was nowhere to be seen.

But oddly enough, something else appeared in the night skies. After one shocked on Sunday, similar footage emerged from the US.

Several freaked out residents of Los Angeles, California took to social media on Sunday, September 24, to share videos and photos of what appears to be a crescent shaped object flying through the skies.

Some have speculated about the object being extraterrestrial in nature, while others quickly dismissed it as a shooting star or plane.

Writer and film critic Andy Signore tweeted: We totally just saw # over Los Angeles! Crazy crescent wing out of light, sputtered slowly, then zoomed outta here! That was nuts." Fon H Davis also tweeted: "So this just #UFO just flew over Los Angeles.

What is it? A meteor perhaps? Not a missile we hope.". Someone also described the object as a "burning light stationary in the sky".

According to UFO conspiracy website UFOs.com, the object had a smooth fiery trail, and was too small to be a helicopter.  The spectacular nature of the unidentified object led some to speculate that it was somehow connected to the planet Nibiru.

Ricky Salinas said: "Just saw a f**** Meteorite or UFO over Pasadena am I the only one that saw that?.

As the Nibiru panic quickly spread through Los Angeles, evidence came to to suggest the object was in fact spacecraft – but not alien.

Late last night, Californias Vandenberg Air Force Base launched a brand new NROL-42 spy satellite at around 1:49 a.m. EDT. The same time that the 'UFO' was spotted.

The NROL-42 will join the ranks of the United State's National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) satellites in orbit around Earth.  Colonel Gregory Wood, 30th Space Wing vice commander, said: This launch is the culmination of many months of work by United Launch Alliance, the National Reconnaissance Office and the 30th Space Wing.

All of Team Vandenberg is dedicated to mission success and proud to play a part in delivering these capabilities to our nation. To further illustrate the the object had no connection to the mystical Planet X, have repeatedly rejected claims of the planets existence.  Nasa's leading scientist Dr David Morrison said: There is no credible evidence whatever for the existence of Nibiru.

There are no pictures, no tracking, no astronomical observations. I can quite specifically say how we know Planet X or Nibiru does not exist and does not threaten the Earth..

Megyn Kelly Turns Away From Politics and Toward Morning TV in New Launch

Megyn Kelly isn't playing politics anymore – at least not on camera. The former Fox News anchor vowed to put aside the hard-edged interviewing style that made her famous and turned her energy Monday full-bore into the launch of a new morning program, in one of the bigger bets NBC has made on a single talent since, perhaps, it named an unknown Conan O'Brien in 1993 to succeed David Letterman at the helm of its wee-hours "Late Night" franchise.

Kelly told a live studio audience in the opening moments of her new "Megyn Kelly Today" that "I'm kind of done with politics for now," and said she hoped instead to help viewers "get yourself through the day, to have a laugh with us, a smile, sometimes a tear – and maybe a little hope to start your day. Some fun! That's what we want to be doing."

The mission represents a marked change for the popular news host whose prosecutor-like style in Fox News Channel's primetime made her a star. Kelly has no experience hosting a morning program of this sort, and just months ago was anchoring a Sunday-night newsmagazine program on NBC that at times proved polarizing. But she put all of that in the rear-view mirror Monday as she re-introduced herself to the audience, talking about her upstate New York roots and introducing her husband and mother to the in-studio crowd and the audience at home. It's a technique that was put to good use by NBC colleague Jimmy Fallon in the opening moments of his run on the network's late-night franchise "Tonight."

NBC is packaging Kelly as part of its "Today" empire. She's coming on after colleagues Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie deliver most of the headlines – and a lot of lighter fare, as well. And she's on before Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford start sipping wine and delving into less serious topics. As the rest of the "Today" anchors came on set to toast her, Kelly offered the assemblage mimosas, meant to represent a transition between the wake-you-up coffee served on the show's first two hours and the alcohol consumed in its last. But there was no talk of current events: No reference to the devastation in Puerto Rico, or the protests that took place over the weekend across the nation's various NFL games.

Kelly has long harbored ambitions of filling in the space in the TV-news business once occupied by Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfrey. "Diane Sawyer left her anchor role. Oprah has moved to the OWN network and is doing a different thing now. So why not me?" she told Variety during an interview in 2015.

On Monday, she dove into the role, hosting a multi-segment visit with the cast of "Will & Grace," the popular NBC sitcom that is getting a reboot this season. She bantered with the rest of the "Today" crew in a taped segment that had Kelly biking to work with Al Roker, and getting advice from Kathie Lee Gifford ("Be authentic!") as she sat in the makeup chair. The show ended with a long field piece that had Kelly journey to the Windy City to meet a 77-year-old Chicago nun who was working diligently to improve a tough neighborhood. Sister Donna Liette and some of her supporters also joined Kelly in the studio. The title of the segment, "Settle For More," is borrowed from Kelly's recent memoir, and looks as if it might be a regular feature on the show about people trying to improve their situation in life. "If you want change, you must seek it," Kelly told the crowd.

NBC managed to weave promotional support from advertisers into the opening program – much like Oprah Winfrey did over the years. And while there was no mass giveaway of new cars to the in-studio crowd, as Winfrey did in 2004 when she gave free Pontiacs to more than 250 audience members, Kelly was able to offer one man a free trip to California to see a "Will & Grace" taping, courtesy of United Airlines. Coldwell Banker and Ace Hardware coughed up checks on stage to help Sister Liette continue her work. Unilever and General Mills were among the sponsors running multiple commercials during Kelly's debut.

Daytime TV is notoriously difficult, and reliable operatives including Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira have faced headwinds in their attempts to launch programs similar to Kelly's. NBC is clearly hoping the force of her personality and an inspirational backstory lend the host an edge – not the polarizing kind – with a broader audience that it was reaching with the previous inhabitant of the 9 a.m. timeslot.

Will Kelly be able to maintain the lighter, inspirational tone of her debut in a swirling news cycle that seems utterly consumed with politics and cultural clashes? Will she want to bring her hard-news chops to bear now and again? The magic of a morning program is that it always has another broadcast waiting in the wings that might allow its host to try those ideas out.

Anthony Weiner | anthony weiner sentencing |Why I Admire Anthony Weiner - Duration: 1:47.

On Monday, former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison for having lewd exchanges with a 15-year-old girl on Skype and Snapchat. The sentencing was just the latest act in Mr. Weiner's nightmarish downfall fueled by his compulsive sexting habit.

Mr. Weiner cried as he pleaded guilty to one count of transferring obscene material to a minor, a crime that carried up to 10 years in prison. "I acted not only unlawfully but immorally, and if I had done the right thing, I would not be standing before you today," he told Judge Denise L. Cote in Manhattan.

"I was a very sick man for a very long time," he said. Indeed, his behavior fits a commonly understood definition of addiction, which is persistent engagement in a behavior despite negative consequences. And those consequences were epic — loss of his congressional office in 2011, the implosion of his mayoral bid in 2013, public humiliation, the dissolution of his marriage and accusations of jeopardizing Hillary Clinton's presidential bid.

"I've had a disease but I have no excuse," he continued. "I accept complete and total responsibility for my crime. I was the adult."

In admitting this, Mr. Weiner captured an important distinction that has been lost in our culture, which tends to over-pathologize problematic behavior. He didn't blame his "disease." He knows that there is a difference between having a compulsion and acting on it. But there is an idea bigger than just controlling one's impulses. It's what legal scholars and philosophers call "diachronous responsibility."

Consider the drunken driver. Once he is tanked up on whisky and heading to his car to drive home, it is unrealistic to expect that he will instead amble to the closest Starbucks to sober up or call someone to drive him home. A cycle has been tripped and the odds are that he'll drive home intoxicated. If he kills someone, it's no excuse. That's because he had ample opportunity to be responsible: When he was sober and walked into the bar. That was his first mistake, and a totally avoidable one.

According to Stephen Morse, a law professor at the University of Pennsylvania, a person can be responsible for the ultimate harm, even if that person is somehow not responsible at the moment of committing an act, as long as three conditions are met: He must a) be responsible at other times, b) know or should know that he is at risk of causing those harms in a non-responsible state, and c) fail to take reasonable steps to prevent the harm from arising.

Mr. Weiner is three for three on the diachronous-responsibility test. First, he is responsible at other times. Clearly, Mr. Weiner knew enough not to sext in front of his wife. Second, he knew or should have known that he was at risk of causing those harms in a non-responsible state. Mr. Weiner is an intelligent man who had watched his life crumble years before the offense. And third, he failed to take reasonable steps to prevent the harm from arising.

Addicts, pedophiles and others are in the same situation when they are not "overwhelmed" by their desires, Mr. Morse told me. "They need to be held accountable if they don't take steps to tie themselves to the mast to avoid being overwhelmed."

The mast reference here is to Ulysses, literature's most famous subject of temptation, who tied himself to the mast of his ship to keep from submitting to the sirens' call. Ulysses's self-regulation led the political philosopher Jon Elster to coin the idea of Ulysses contracts. For example, a gambler might tell his local casino to bar him from entering in the first place. In Mr. Weiner's case, that contract might mean putting parental controls on his own laptop, or even not owning a smartphone.

This may sound odd, but I admire Anthony Weiner for what he did on Monday. He stood tearfully before the judge and acknowledged several compatible truths: that he was responsible for his action, that he is accepting the consequences, and that he needs help so that he can liberate himself from those compulsions, or, at the very least, stop acting on them.
