When you bring your bale of hay home, do yourself a favor and roll it directly
off that truck or trailer and onto something that you've put there to keep
it up off the ground. Because if it rains between now and the time that you can
feed that bale of hay, that investment, that bale of hay, is going to be sitting
in rotten, disgusting, muddy, gross water -- and it's going to be rotting that whole
time. So do yourself a favor: When you roll it
off that truck or trailer, drop it directly onto something that you've put
there to keep it off the ground, something like old milk crates, or maybe
some cinder blocks... or cedar stays like we'd use here in southern Texas. But
remember, if you don't have your own tractor you're only going to get one
shot at that because a bale of hay weighs over a thousand pounds.
