Halloween here in USA and in Poland the Day of the Dead
those are very different holidays
very different ways of celebrating them
and so I thought I'd ask a few people about their opinions
what do they think about...
...Halloween in USA and the Polish Day of the Dead
I think that Halloween here in Pittsburgh
especially in the small community of Aspinwall, where I live
is one of the most interesting and colorful experiences
if I was to invite guests from Poland
to come here and experience something
something very specific and joyful
like for example the Carnival in Brazil, the Rio Carnival
then here - I would say - it is the Halloween
it's a very happy an cool holiday
on the other hand I do agree you can overdo it
and I do see that sometimes, Americans
they go overboard
they create... cemeteries in front of their houses and what not
and that is... quite scary
I'm not going to hang skeletons on my doors
we're just going to carve pumpkins
the kids will wear bumble bee and lizard costumes
but in general I have very positive take on Halloween
Halloween - good or bad holiday?
is it only for fun or is there something more behind it?
and what should we do about it when
us, Polish people that came here
in some point of their lives
and had always celebrated the Day of the Dead [before]. The Day that is...
...serious and very different

no, I think this is a horrible holiday
I don't know who came up with it
no, no, no... simply the stupidest holiday in the World
you definitely don't like dressing up
you would never do it? - no, I wouldn't, I always rejected the idea as a child and...
and, and... until this day I think
it's not worth celebrating
it's some paranoia?
so... what do you think? were Polish people able to adjust and adopt to Halloween?
I can see they did not adjust at all...

as a community - did we adopt to Halloween or...
...are we still rejecting it?
I think we actually adapted very well
speaking on a more serious note, of course
I think everyone needs a little bit of FUN (so to speak)
this is what the holiday is
we put on costumes and we are someone else for one day
we collect a lot of candy and goof around
and that's what Halloween is
the very next day indeed we have the Day of the Dead
a huge holiday in Poland
Polish people still celebrate it here
and that's how we remember our dead
it's time for some serious thinking, pondering
and getting ourselves in a little different mood than that of Halloween
on Halloween you can party
so these two holidays don't collide? you can switch from one mood to another like that?
I don't see a problem with that
to be honest, I don't like
sadness and grieving
after our dead, this is more personal
it's how I feel
I think the lives of the dead should be celebrated
we should have nice memories and some laughs on their account

really fantastic show
deeply rooted in the 80's
but there is a big mystery
there are very interesting characters
beautifully filmed, beautifully edited
it's just awesome, super great
2nd season was released on Netflix
two days ago
because you can't say now it "started"
it doesn't start because all episodes are available right away
so you can sit there literally all night and watch...
everything at once if you're not able to space it out
before we had one episode a week
on television, on some channel
and you couldn't wait for another one, and now...
...you just have a release date
for the new season to become available
and you can watch the whole thing at once
not sure about Poland though
I tried googling it
to figure out whether you can just watch Stranger Things in Poland on Netflix
I think it might not be
but I'm not quite sure of that
if it is - do watch it because it's incredible!
if there are any other ways to somehow
get it from somewhere
a Pole can do it
I am absolutely against piracy

but if you do have a chance to see it
another matter, I was thinking maybe I should make it a regular section
that I would get back to every now and then
