USA news on Youtube May 31 2018

In this video, I'll demonstrate

the very unique monitoring capabilities

of our new QUINT POWER low-wattage power supplies.

For the first time, power supplies

ranging from 30 to 100 watts feature

advanced monitoring functionalities

that indicate critical operating states before errors occur.

These devices can monitor either

the output voltage or the output power of the power supply.

Now let's see how these components work

together to monitor the power supply.

As a default, these devices are set

to monitor the power supply's output voltage

using the DC OK LED as well

as the solid-state signal output.

When the output voltage is within 10%

of the adjusted voltage value,

the DC OK LED will be lit green.

The solid-state output will also indicate

the adjusted voltage value is within 10%.

When the output voltage drops below 10%

of the adjusted voltage value,

the green DC OK LED will blink continuously.

And the solid-state output will give

a digital signal that the voltage has dropped.

You can change the default monitoring capabilities

using the adjustable power threshold dial

to monitor the power supply's output power.

Using a small screwdriver, you can switch

the power threshold out to monitor

when the output power exceeds 50%,

75%, or 100% of the power supply.

When the output power is less than

or equal to the selected threshold,

the green DC OK LED will be lit.

The solid-state output will also indicate

that the power supply's output power

has not exceeded the selected threshold.

When the output power exceeds the selected threshold,

the output power's signal LED will light up yellow,

indicating that the selected threshold has been exceeded.

The green DC OK LED continues to stay on,

because even though the power threshold

has been exceeded, the power supply

is still producing a consistent output voltage.

In addition to the LED indications,

the solid state output will signal

the threshold being exceeded.

If the power supply's green DC OK LED starts

to continuously blink, the device is indicating

an output power overload, and therefore

the output voltage has dropped at least 10%.

Remember, understanding the output power

of your power supply allows you

to understand the health of your application.

Nano Stern: Life on Tour and Overcoming Challenges | Part 1/4 | Berklee Online - Duration: 4:38.

[PLAYING GUITAR]

It's my, I think, sixth tour to the USA.

And this one is quite special because it's

the first time that we're going to connect and go to Mexico, straight

after.

So it's been very intense.

It's been a hell of a week with the Monday in Chile, Tuesday in New York,

Wednesday in Chicago, Thursday in LA, Friday in San Francisco,

Saturdays in Stanford, Sunday traveling, Monday in uh--

in Brown and Tuesday here in Boston.

So it's that kind of thing.

It's physically very intense.

It's emotionally very intense.

It's very demanding.

And it's very rewarding at the same time.

Very few hours of sleep and very unorderly eating times.

And lots of music, the whole time every day, you know.

And as much as it takes a lot of energy, by the time

the shows arrive it gives you so much energy back that it keeps in balance.

So that's the only way, really.

It feels a bit like being an athlete on a sports tour, no?

Like, all the work that we do.

All your life you practice, you created.

You have-- you focus on your craft, on your art.

And then it all comes down to one hour, one and half hour that you're on stage,

you know.

And that's it.

It's like running a race.

It's not a competition of course.

But in terms of concentrating all your energy into that one thing

that you are there to do.

It so much things that you have to sacrifice also for it.

But in the end of the day, it's our craft.

So it's what music is meant to do, is travel and be played

for people and with people, especially.

I don't listen to a lot of music while I'm on tour.

I find that it's so much music around us and what

we're doing that I rest my ears a bit.

But I read very much, because we had to fly pretty much ever day

a couple of hours.

So I devour books.

I go one after the other on tour.

And I really like it.

It's the only time that I get to actually do this.

I just read an amazing biography on Socrates.

And the questions that the guys were asking in the sixth century BC

are exactly the same questions that we keep asking today, just as valid.

And we are just as close or far from answering them, I guess.

So it will be, I think, a reading material for any future to come.

Well, I think the only key really to having a successful music

approach, you know, and career--

keeping honest, doing something that is true to yourself.

Because there is so many musicians in the world, so good

one, so many good ones.

So many virtuoso players that just kill it on their instrument.

But many times what they do is very similar one to the other.

And I guess people don't really appreciate.

And I think the only way to avoid that is by being honest and doing something

that is true to yourself, you know.

It not only applies to music.

I guess it applies to life.

And going back to Socrates no, he would say a life unexamined

is a life not worth living.

Which means in the end that if you are looking at yourself deeply,

you will find things which are true to yourself.

And music, you know, [PLAYING CHORD] it's sound in the end.

It's vibration.

And I guess the beautiful thing about music

is that it creates a resonance between the one who's producing it,

and those who are listening to it, and being part of it, also.

And the only way to produce a vibration that

is strong enough to allow others to resonate with you

is that it's a true vibration, you know.

You cannot fake this.

You can fake the sound.

But you cannot fake the energy that is producing it and that is behind it.

So I guess that's the only--

the only real important thing.

When I was studying at the conservatory, I

had the opportunity to study abroad in Amsterdam conservatory.

And I had the feeling that the values that music students cherish

the most within the music schools really didn't apply in the outside world.

And music is not meant to live inside a school.

It's meant to live within communities and within normal people, who

don't care how fast you're going to play one or the other scale.

They just care if you're going to be able to communicate and resonate

with them.

I feel that my career has not really had any breaking point.

It's been very gradual.

It's been very day by day.

And I like it like that also, because it's a slow build-up.

It's take it as it comes, you know, without getting

overly frustrated over specific things.

Because you know, things happen.

Things come.

Things go.

But overall, I guess it's more important to enjoy the ride

than to obsess about getting somewhere, you know.

IT'S ON: CNN Just Declared WAR on EVERY SINGLE PERSON Who Voted For Trump - Duration: 4:27.

IT'S ON: CNN Just Declared WAR on EVERY SINGLE PERSON Who Voted For Trump

This is a new low, even for CNN, who is basically in the gutter, at this point.

After Roseanne Barr tweeted out an attack on a former Obama top aide, CNN wasted no

time attacking President Trump and all of his supporters.

Now, in order to really push home their "racism" narrative, CNN is going to war on Trump supporters,

and bringing on guests who claim that every single person who voted for President Trump

is "racist."

From News Busters

Most of the people who appear on CNN are, unsurprisingly, liberals.

However, every so often, a guest veers so far to the left that even the hosts are surprised

by what that person says.

That was the case on CNN's Wednesday morning show New Day, when Michaela Angela Davis responded

to a question posed by new co-host John Berman.

He asked if Roseanne Barr "felt empowered" by President Donald Trump to make the racist

remarks that led to the cancellation of her ABC sitcom.

"Absolutely," the culture critic responded before going so far as to claim that everyone

who voted for the Republican during the 2016 presidential campaign is a racist.

Berman's question seemed reasonable enough for someone on CNN, as he continued:

The argument that some people are making, that Roseanne Barr maybe felt empowered to

talk like this because of President Trump….I mean, look, she's got a history of saying

things like this completely on her own that have gone back before this administration.

How do you counter that with the "rapid-ish" response from ABC?

"Well," Davis replied, "they made a connection together….when Trump…touted

her ratings, almost took credit for them" as the president and the comedian "made

their relationship clear."

The guest then claimed that the Republican occupant of the White House "made it more

popular, I think, to be openly racist."

As if that wasn't liberal enough, she added: "I think it's important that we don't

make Trump seem this untouchable thing, you know, that no one gets to be Trump but Trump.

Tens of millions of people voted for him after he showed his cards for years."

Obviously caught off guard by the comment, Berman gave the guest a chance to walk back

her remark: "But are you suggesting that they're racist?"

Davis nevertheless replied: "Absolutely, yes."

All of the people that voted for Donald Trump are racist?" the co-host asked again.

"Yes," she stated.

"They may not all be violently racist," but Trump is "very clear and strategic"

in his use of the "anti-blackness" that "has been the foundation" of his political

life.

"We have to grapple with the idea that…you heard someone at their rallies say 'Build

the wall and kill them all.'"

"Listen," fellow co-host Alisyn Camerota interrupted, "you know that people interpret

this differently, and to paint with as broad a brush as you are, saying that everybody

who voted for him is racist, you know how people operate."

"They'll compartmentalize, and they'll say that people had compartmentalized during

Bill Clinton," Camerota added, "and you overlook the things that you're uncomfortable

with because you like the policy, so you can't paint with that broad a brush."

Davis still refused to back down, asserting: "Racism isn't broad, so what you're

not hearing is there's so many different levels of racism and how it works itself out."

As NewsBusters previously reported, this isn't the first time Davis startled her CNN hosts.

In September of 2016, the Black Lives Matter sympathizer responded on CNN to the fatal

shooting by police officers in North Carolina of an armed black man by bemoaning white "brutality"

and defending violent protesters as "burning down the plantation."

When choosing people to be guests or panelists on CNN, the network usually makes safe selections

of people who are fellow travelers on the left side of the road.

However, it is certainly refreshing when one of those visitors forces the hosts to walk

back something even they can't deny is too liberal for the viewers of that cable channel.

what do you think about this?

Don't Drill Healthy Teeth! No Dentist Smile Makeover by Brighter Image Lab - Duration: 11:25.

I understand why people are afraid of cosmetic dentists and you should be

drilling your teeth down to cones or stumps is so permanent why would anyone

drill perfectly good teeth I knew very fast that drilling was not for me I just

wanted to look better or do something different why would I want to do

anything to my teeth that's not reversible and that's why I say no to

drilling I've done my research and the technology it's changed and it's

changing every single day just look at the people who receive dental veneers

the five or ten years ago today they would make a different choice for me

it's all about choice either drill or bill I'm Kimberly Kloss I chose bill

veneers by brighter image lab

how'd you hear about us I was on Instagram and there was this social

media you know person that I loved her teeth and she was just really real about

you know how she approached getting you know a better smile and I looked at her

YouTube and on her YouTube videos she had she was one of your clients I was so

intrigued I had to you know I was brought to mhm your web page and I was

just like it was almost like automatically I felt like my perspective

had changed upon you know getting a sense of doing veneers just so impressed

that there she avoided doing the drilling and the step-by-step process

that it would take that's so invasive that to me I like it because his high -

yes that's incredibly deceptive oh my god what happens is is they showed the

before they show the after but they never show the ride home and the

difference is when they saw before and after it's a deceptive position like

before and after it's like these are your teeth and now these are your teeth

drilled down and so there's really not an after past that because the third

picture is here your here's your teeth when you apply a veneer here's how we

hide your teeth but the before and after should be real teeth cone teeth my

entire life I have growing up I had you know pretty

baby teeth and my dentist always said that and it stuck with me because when

my teeth came in the way that they did I was not as pleased you just want a

different yeah and so it's like and that's one of the theories that we get

into is that nobody should drill healthy teeth yeah that's terrifying to me

what they do is they drill a tooth to grind it down but it the grinding comes

from the drill and so we just say stay away from the drill we all the time see

people who send us their cases you want to know if they can get their veneers

removed because they want to go back to what

they had my can't when you said that you didn't want to drill then that got my

attention like for instance I don't know if you

know but I think you told me already Invisalign jump out of him yeah

the reason because oh my god it was the biggest mistake ever it was not what

what I tell people is is that there you know you you have to know what to expect

if your teeth didn't come in fully they don't continue to come in fully

I mean straighten them don't make them nicer just makes it more obvious and

sometimes if they're not shaped right they have to be straighter teeth and you

makes it more obvious oh I really need cosmetic and so most people go straight

from braces straight into cosmetic which they could have bypassed it and so

especially for things if you've done it 10 years ago or even five years ago the

choices we make today for those same veneers are so different in color and

shade and translucency and a bunch of things so why commit yourself to

something that's going to fit in its backdating the technology has changed

why continue to do the service that I want to show you something on your smile

okay you have almost no changes the shape of this one in this one's

underdeveloped this is probably one of those cases that are strictly cosmetic

like and but if you could make those changes on a case like this you can do

any case and so I can't believe this is really happening

those are my impressions those are my teeth those are gonna go in my mouth

he's always how they work this is supposed to be your mouth

if it on and so that's where we take it from oh the best thing to do is try it

have to take a deep breath I it's gonna feel weird no I can't even describe

since I have like this is a big moment for me because since I have been like a

little girl on I have always had such since I was 6 years old and my front

teeth came in and this tooth has always been such an insecurity of mine and I

never smiled with my teeth and it's you know maybe it's all a mental thing that

I just like I can't believe this moment is really here

you gotta let the camera see this is unreal

you look amazing I came from amazed look how shiny they were like so perfect and

shiny I can't notice in your Instagram your lip to lip on almost everything and

and my family always gives me such a hard time and it's always been an

insecurity thing you're not having a problem smile now or I mean now we're

talking I'm never gonna do the duck face again we're talking I just learned that that was the real face

I thought it duck made hide oh they look perfect I can't believe it

do you mind changing other ones please I always tell people wait three or four days

before you get used to the bottom but some people get adjusted the first and

they were the second one it all depends on how good it looks should look so real

but it's gonna feel big and it's gonna feel right so let's look at it so what

it is

Push them down they should be tight

oh my god I can't believe this no that's a lot you get used to how does it feel it's crazy big it

was great I can't believe this you know a large percentage of the people that

come to me and never came to me to look good whenever one time I asked to look a

bit better I'm a young lady in Ohio called me and

said I need I mean a really great smile it was Brittney yeah I watched it and

she's like you can do this then she was in the dentist for four years and he

couldn't fix her smile and so that's what we really got on let's make these

more perfect so with that I'm getting to see the word for the first time I don't

get to see it up this close I have to tell you something else people are gonna

ask we don't know each other and we're never ready for today right instagrammed

one time yeah I reached out to you I don't even always reaching out to you I

didn't know who I was reaching out to because I think it's like a Saturday or

Sunday morning it was a Sunday morning you didn't try these on before today oh

and so with that like I this is unreal nothing I liked about you graduated from

college these smart girls that they do their

work they don't drill you obviously don't have people take you to know any

cosmetic dentist in Florida if you wanted to make that choice you could have easily

made it and it wasn't an accident that you put that in our first message like

I'm not drilling so this helped me and I'm thinking how does she know to say

that like I'm always concerned that somebody in my office might have heard

me say it's they go I was just telling this but but we were looking at trying

to start a campaign that is don't drill and I knew you were doing your

investigations and I knew that you could make other choices

and I know there's a time where you didn't want to make any mistakes you got too many people

coming in but I will tell you I have been here for the last 15 minutes or so

and I don't see anything about you that's going to have anything but

positive on you making an impression or where you no longer have the negative I

don't think you're ever going to worry about that one tooth being too small it

looks perfect now let me see there perfect perfect like the tips match

exactly bite for bite it's still way hard for you to believe I can feel the

energy of shock this is insane crazy your parents are gonna see you for

graduation your mom's gonna see you for Mother's Day and you're gonna walk your

stage you're gonna have your friends yeah there might be one more I have to

oh these are my these people will judge me

uh-uh smiling the entire way down we did pretty good we did pretty good I have to

see it again pretty good you did good way to go

They look like matching teeth I know Kariann always had the best teeth she's my twin I got robbed

can you believe it they look so good I know you're the person I'm showing how do they feel amazing

don't they look amazing KK? You're smiling! you're smiling That's awesome I know

RED ALERT: U.S. Allies Just - Duration: 14:09.

RED ALERT: U.S. Allies Just STABBED America in the back after Trump Turns Up the HEAT

on Iran

Iranian officials are plotting with U.S. allies across the globe to develop a series a measures

meant to counter new sanctions by the Trump administration following its abandonment of

the landmark nuclear deal, setting up a global economic showdown between America and its

allies over their future business dealings with the Islamic Republic.

Iranian leaders disclosed on Tuesday that they had recently held high-level meetings

with European Union nations and leaders in India and Thailand to explore options for

skirting new U.S. sanctions.

Iran's efforts and the warm reception it is receiving from many nations has roiled leaders

on Capitol Hill, where some lawmakers are already moving to confront these countries

and ensure they face harsh repercussions for any breach of U.S. sanction law.

The State Department also is scrambling to respond to Iran's efforts by building a counter-coalition

aimed at isolating Tehran and any nation that works with Iran to skirt new U.S. sanctions,

U.S. officials told the Washington Free Beacon.

Iranian Government Spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht disclosed on Tuesday that the nation's

top leaders, including Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, have met with European leaders and

others in the region to discuss skirting new U.S. sanctions, which have targeted virtually

every portion of Iran's economy, including its contested nuclear and energy sectors.

Zarif recently concluded a trip to India and Thailand, where he is reported to have made

much progress in convincing these nations to help Tehran "bypass" the new U.S. sanctions,

which were fully reimposed by the Trump administration after its decision to walk away from the nuclear

agreement.

"In addition to the E.U., we are improving relations with other countries, especially

the neighbors," Nobakht was quoted as saying on Tuesday in Iran's state-controlled press.

Meetings with leaders in India are said to have gone particularly well for Iran, sparking

outrage in the United States where these same Indian leaders have been pleading with the

Trump administration to boost relations.

India and China have already vowed to continue purchasing Iranian crude oil, despite the

Trump administration's crackdown.

"A major part of the oil is sold to India and China," Nobakht said.

"We are also in talks with Europe to continue oil sales to them, and Iran's increased oil

sales to them has even been under discussion with them to compensate any drop if some states

decrease oil imports."

Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, in remarks following meetings with top Iranian

leaders, vowed to ignore U.S. sanctions.

"India follows only [United Nations] sanctions and not unilateral sanctions by any country,"

Swaraj was quoted as saying, emphasizing that India remains "independent" and immune to

"pressure."

A U.S. State Department official, speaking only on background, told the Free Beacon that

under newly installed Secretary of State Pompeo's leadership, American diplomats are already

developing relationships aimed at ensuring U.S. sanctions on Iran have a maximum impact.

"We are hard at work in our efforts to build our new effort to counter the totality of

Iran's malign activity with our friends around the world.

Secretary Pompeo speaks frequently with his counterparts from the UK, France, and Germany

as well as our allies in the Middle East and Asia," the official said.

Teams of U.S. diplomats are being sent across the globe to galvanize support for the new

U.S. sanctions, the official said.

"We will be sending out teams of diplomats and specialists to talk about specific concerns

with the plan for re-imposition of U.S. nuclear-related sanctions and next steps with Iran," the official

said.

"We are fully engaged at all levels."

On Capitol Hill, opponents of the nuclear accord are working on parallel efforts to

ensure that any foreign nation caught skirting new U.S. sanctions on Iran faces harsh repercussions,

including massive economic penalties and a possible cutoff from the U.S. financial system.

"India is going out of its way to alienate members of Congress, including many who have

been sympathetic and trying to help them," said one senior congressional official who

works on the issue and has discussed the matter with the administration.

"They're almost certainly violating the sanctions against Russia that overwhelmingly passed

Congress last summer," said the source, who would only speak on background about these

efforts.

"Now they're bragging about violating Iran sanctions too.

They keep telling us they want a new relationship with America but then they act in these destructive

ways.

It's very troubling."

Roseanne's Co-Star Has Jaw-Dropping Message For Her 24 Hrs After Losing His Job - Duration: 5:50.

Roseanne's Co-Star Has Jaw-Dropping Message For Her 24 Hrs After Losing His Job.

Although Roseanne Barr apologized for her offensive tweet, the number one sitcom in

America is now off the air.

As you all know by now almost immediately after the tweet, ABC Entertainment President

Channing Dungey made the decision to pull the plug on the show, calling the tweets "abhorrent,

repugnant and inconsistent with our values."

There is clearly a double standard here.

ABC or Disney clearly has an agenda, and when Roseanne apologized this should have been

the end of it since to date no one has ever apologized to President Trump, or us, his

supporters for all the nasty and evil things that have been said about him, and us.

Since it's a known fact that you get to know a person's character best when they

are put to the test, although most of her younger costars came out immediately against

Roseanne, her most important co-star, John Goodman, who is beyond a doubt the best actor

on the show, decided to remain silent on the mess.

According to Fox News Goodman said in an interview, "I'd rather say nothing than to cause

more trouble, I don't know anything about it.

I don't read it."

This followed a very gracious tweet by Barr:

Roseanne continued by apologizing to those who had lost their jobs because of her comment.

That included John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf, as she also condemned cast members who threw

her under the bus.

Funny how the ones who condemned her, without naming names are the ones who haven't been

heard up, since the last time Roseanne was on the air back in 1997, except for Sarah

Gilbert who was last seen on a couple of episodes, on the largely popular far-left tv show "The

Big Bang Theory" years ago.

Roseanne added, "I'm not a racist, I never was & I never will be," she wrote Wednesday.

"One stupid joke in a lifetime of fighting 4 civil rights 4 all minorities, against networks,

studios, at the expense of my nervous system/family/wealth will NEVER be taken from me."

This is what Hollywood agrees with, and this list is tame since it's only from the Oscars:

President Donald Trump was the primary target for leftist Hollywood celebrities during the

Oscars, as he, his family, or his administration was mentioned negatively fifteen times during

the ceremony.

Show host Jimmy Kimmel noted the Oscars broadcast was being watched "by more than 225 countries

that now hate us," thanks to Trump.

Kimmel thanked Trump for bringing Hollywood together, "Remember last year when it seemed

like the Oscars were racist?" he asked.

"That's gone, thanks to him."

Kimmel welcomed Isabelle Huppert, a French actress who was nominated for best actress:

"I'm glad Homeland Security let you in tonight.

I really am," he joked.

Kimmel referred to Trump's calling actress Meryl Streep "overrated", after her anti-Trump

speech during the Golden Globe and led the audience in a standing ovation for the actress.

"Nice dress, by the way.

Is that an Ivanka?"

Kimmel asked Streep.

Kimmel joked that Donald Trump tweets on the toilet.

"Some of you will get to come up on this stage tonight and give a speech, that the

President of the United States will tweet about in all caps during his 5 a.m. bowel

movement tomorrow," he told the actors.

"And I think that's pretty darn excellent, if you ask me."

Kimmel referred to Trump's repeated attacks on "fake news", and added a joke about

Trump's fake tan: "If there's anyone here from CNN, or the LA Times or New York

Times if you work for anything with the word Times" in it, even Medieval Times I'd

like to ask you to leave the building right now," he said.

"We have no tolerance for fake news.

Fake tans, we love."

"And now, for something that is very rare nowadays: a president who believes in both

arts and sciences," Kimmel joked as he introduced Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs.

Kimmel's stunts included live-tweeting to Trump twice during the Oscars."U up?"

he asked, as it was clear that Trump had not tweeted yet.

He also tweeted the hashtag "hashtag MerylSaysHi" to the president.

"We're so sorry about what happened in Sweden last week," Kimmel said, joking about

Trump's mention of attacks in the country.

Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal criticized Trump's promise to build a wall.

"As a Mexican, as a Latin American, as a migrant worker, as a human being, I am against

any form of wall that wants to separate us," he said.

Kimmel joked that Dr. Strange was also nominated as secretary of Housing and Urban Development,

making fun of Trump's pick of Dr. Ben Carson to lead that agency.

Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs alluded to Trump's campaign promise to secure the

borders: "Tonight is proof that art has no borders, art has no single language, and

art does not belong to a single faith," she said.

Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi protested Donald Trump's travel ban by not attending

the Oscars.

"My absence is out of respect for the people of my country and those of the other six nations,

who have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the U.S.,"

he said in a statement that was read during the ceremony.

Barry Jenkins, the director of the film Moonlight, which won Best Picture, promised to help people

suffering during Trump's presidency: "All you people out there who feel like there's

no mirror for you, that your life is not reflected, the Academy has your back; the ACLU has your

back; we have your back; and for the next four years, we will not leave you alone.

We will not forget you," he said.

The photos, which clueless liberals thought were from Trump's immigration, pictured

young illegals in "cages."

Now, after ignoring the FAKE NEWS everyone spread, that the pics were a result of Trump's

immigration, liberals have changed gears and are now focusing on "abused illegal children"

(never mind all of the poor, downtrodden American kids).

However, the stories liberals are spreading about "abused" illegal kids is wrong.

The TRUTH is, illegal children are treated quite well thanks to the U.S. taxpayer, who

shells out $670 bucks a day to keep illegal kids "comfy" with soccer, yoga, multi-cultural

crayons and TV's.

Sadly, most inner city American children do not have a fraction of what these illegal

kids receive, and those are the people we should be fighting for.

From Washington Times

The image of two illegal immigrant children sleeping on the floor in a chain-link fence

"cage" swept the internet last weekend, sparking misdirected anger from activists

who blamed President Trump for the conditions — which were actually from 2014, when the

photo was taken, under President Obama.

Here is another image: illegal immigrant children set up in comfy dormitories, coloring with

"multicultural crayons," watching their favorite soccer teams from back home on the

extensive cable system, even kicking the ball around themselves on a beautiful new soccer

field — all paid for by taxpayers.

There's "Spanish language yoga" for those that want it and trips to go bowling,

to visit museums and even to hit up the amusement park, at $49 a ticket, also on taxpayers'

tab.

The children chow on three meals a day plus snacks, since federal rules say they must

be fed "until they are full."

Both images are accurate: two distinct snapshots of different parts of the massive U.S. immigration

system that handles hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied alien children, or UAC, who

have streamed over the border over the past five years, challenging first the Obama administration

and now Mr. Trump.

The children initially are kept in stark cells at the border, where they are processed by

the agents who catch them.

That is what the photos from 2014 show.

The cells were designed for a different era, when nearly all illegal immigrants jumping

the border were adults, usually from Mexico and predominantly male, held for a few hours

while being processed and quickly sent back.

It was so quick that agents would sometimes catch the same person more than once in a

night.

Fast-forward to 2013, when the patterns began to change, with the flow shifting from Mexicans

to Central Americans, and from men to families traveling together, or even children traveling

alone — the UAC.

So far this year, about a third of the people nabbed by Border Patrol agents fell into one

of those special categories.

Under American law and government policy, they cannot be quickly shunted back across

the border.

The children can spend up to 72 hours in the Border Patrol facility, which has meant sleeping

in a crowded room, with little but a Mylar blanket, in conditions so cold that the migrants

call the cells "hielera," or ice box.

But under rules that have been in place for years, illegal immigrant children traveling

as part of families are sent either sent to dorm-style detention facilities run by U.S.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement or are released outright, where they usually disappear

into the shadows with the rest of the unauthorized population.

They are supposed to be released within 20 days.

If the children are UAC, meaning they jump the border without their parents or come as

a family but become separated after their arrival, release comes much faster — 72

hours at the maximum, according to court-mandated rules.

Then it's off to a dorm run by social workers contracted by the Health and Human Services

Department, which pays for the yoga classes, the multicultural crayons and all the other

trappings designed to ease the UAC into a possible life in the U.S.

While the children are in the dorms, a branch of HHS, the Office of Refugee Services, is

working to place them with sponsors — usually their parents, who more often than not are

in the U.S. illegally.

But the government is increasingly creating unaccompanied children through the administration's

"zero-tolerance" policy for people jumping the border.

Under that policy, announced in April, Homeland Security is supposed to refer every new illegal

immigrant adult for prosecution, and U.S. attorneys are supposed to bring cases against

every person practicable.

That means hundreds of parents end up in jails and their children are put into the foster

care system as UAC, farmed out to the dorms and, perhaps later, to sponsors in the U.S.

For security analysts, the zero-tolerance policy is an endorsement of the kind of law-and-order

approach Mr. Trump promised to bring to immigration enforcement.

The effects on those ensnared are no different from those of anyone else who is accused of

a crime and sent to prison.

"Opponents of immigration enforcement are trying to portray immigration detention as

some kind of cruel and unusual punishment when the purpose of it is to be able to enforce

the law and give people their due process," said Jessica Vaughan, policy studies director

at the Center for Immigration Studies.

Opponents, though, spare no epithets in attacking the president.

"To target children this way is racism," said the Rev. William J. Barber II, a black

pastor and co-chairman of the Poor People's Campaign.

"What we're seeing now, we saw in the days of slavery, where children where separated

and lost from their families."

He and other activists say family separation isn't just a consequence of zero tolerance

but is actually the goal, with Trump officials hoping to scare would-be migrants into forgoing

the journey.

The administration says there is a safer avenue: Show up at border crossings and request asylum

rather than break into the country between the ports of entry.

Take the migrant caravan that dominated headlines in March and April.

More than 330 migrants who came as part of the caravan showed up at the official entry

points, were processed and allowed to make asylum claims, and nearly all of them have

been granted initial entry into the U.S.

By contrast, 122 tried to jump the border and were arrested.

Many of them face criminal charges and jail time.

Exact counts of who falls into which category are difficult to come by.

The New York Times reported this year on more than 700 children separated from adults at

the border either because of safety concerns or, in a couple of hundred cases, because

the adults weren't even related to the children.

Then nearly 1,500 children are placed with sponsors whom the government was unable to

track down last year.

Trump critics said the government "lost" those children.

"If we had lost 1,700 or 1,500 European children or Canadians from that side, there

would be a tremendous uproar," said Mr. Barbar.

During a conference call sponsored by immigrant rights activists on Wednesday, the pastor

accused Mr. Trump of racism.

But another speaker on the call contradicted that sentiment, saying the children aren't

lost, but their sponsors were just unable to be contacted at one point when the government

reached out to do a check-in.

Still, the criticism appears to have struck a nerve with Mr. Trump, who took to Twitter

over the weekend to lament children separated from families.

He blamed a "horrible law" he said was responsible and urged Democrats to change

it.

His aides said that shouldn't be read as criticism of the zero-tolerance policy his

administration is pursuing, nor should he be blamed for families that are separated.

"This wasn't a policy that was created under this administration.

But unlike previous administrations, we actually enforce the law," she said.

"We actually think the law means something, and we're enforcing it.

But the president wants to see that change because he wants these loopholes closed."

While the two sides argue over methods and motives, it's taxpayers who are shelling

out to cover the costs.

HHS paid more than $1.4 billion last year to accommodate nearly 41,000 UAC in its shelters.

They stayed an average of 41 days, which means taxpayers paid about $670 a day for each child.

The cost of holding someone in a federal prison — a comparison some immigration activists

make to the UAC situation — is just $85 a day.

The causes of the higher costs for the children become clear from an examination of the contract

documents describing UAC dormitories.

The Washington Times submitted open-records requests in 2014 for the documents, when the

Obama administration was first grappling with a surge of UAC.

The records were provided in March.

The documents described conditions at facilities run by two of the biggest shelter providers,

Southwest Key Program Inc. and BCFS Health and Human Services.

Southwest Key touted its provision of "multicultural crayons," new sets of clothes for each migrant,

gym equipment and regular field trips to get away from the dorm — activities including

movie nights, swimming and bowling.

BCFS, meanwhile, was effusive in describing the steps it takes to help the illegal immigrant

children be prepared for permanent life in the U.S. while making sure they also remain

connected to their homes through special foods, celebration of their cultural holidays and

that robust cable television package to make sure they don't miss out on their shows.

"On-site recreation may include: soccer tournaments; movie night; playing games on

the Wii; bingo and board games; basketball and volleyball tournaments; and Spanish language

yoga.

During the summer children engage in water-based activities such as swimming, fishing, and

playing in the sprinklers," BCFS said in the documents.

They can call back home a couple of times a week, they get comprehensive health care,

and under government rules, the children are guaranteed three meals a day, plus two snacks.

BCFS didn't respond to a request for comment.

Southwest Key referred questions about its policies back to HHS.

HHS pointed back to a statement from Deputy Health Secretary Eric Hargan, who backed the

White House in blaming misguided American policies for enticing UAC and families to

try to jump the border.

"Until these laws are fixed, the American taxpayer is paying the bill for costly programs

that aggravate the problem and put children in dangerous situations," Mr. Hargan said.

Federal Workers Sue Trump Over Order Capping Union Time - Duration: 3:13.

Federal Workers Sue Trump Over Order Capping Union Time

(Bloomberg) -- Government workers are taking President Donald Trump to court over an executive order limiting the amount of time public employees can spend on union activities.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in federal court in Washington, the American Federation of Government Employees is seeking a court order blocking the new measure from taking effect.

The union claims the rule, which Trump signed May 25, violates the First Amendment to the U.S.

Constitution and the principle of separation of powers.

Without any valid justification, it singles out labor organizations and their representatives for disparate, negative treatment as compared to individuals, the union said in its complaint.

The edict was one of three signed by the president.

The others require the government to charge union members for office space, to stop paying workers for time spent lobbying the federal government and to be tougher in negotiating federal contracts.

They also make it easier to fire employees.

Trump's action builds on a wave of laws enacted by Republican governors over the past decade to curb the power of public employee unions, moves conservatives see as helpful in shrinking government and undermining political foes.

AFGE, the nation's largest federal employees union, endorsed Trump's opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton, for president in the 2016 election.

The U.S.

Justice Department declined to comment on the union's complaint.

The case is American Federation of Government Employees v.

Trump, 18-cv-1261, U.S.

District Court, District of Columbia.

Offiicials give bacteria warning for Atlantic Ocean after Alberto's heavy rains - Duration: 3:23.

Offiicials give bacteria warning for Atlantic Ocean after Alberto's heavy rains

Beachgoers know to look for jellyfish and sharks, but bacteria? Thats what the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) officials announced earlier this week, issuing a swim advisory about bacteria in the water in Myrtle Beach and its surrounding beaches.

Subtropical storm Alberto hit Horry County, the area in which Myrtle Beach is located, with heavy rains and flooding over the holiday weekend.

As the storm moved north, Myrtle Beach experienced the threat of rip currents, strong waves and levels of bacteria in the water considered unsafe for swimming in all but three samples, CBS Raleigh affiliate WNCN reports.

A swim advisory is now in effect until bacteria levels return to normal.

What were really talking about is animal waste in most cases, city spokesperson Mark Kruea told WNCN.

When you get such a big rush of water, it carries whatevers upstream into the ocean very quickly..

Kruea said that its uncommon to have all of Horry County under a swim advisory.

The last time, I think we had all of South Carolina under an advisory was after Hurricane Floyd, he said.

We got 15-20 inches of rain in a day, basically..

If youre on vacation in Myrtle Beach, all is not lost.

Health officials explained that beachgoers can still wade in the water and collect shells or fish, but should avoid going underwater.

Those with open cuts are advised to stay out of the ocean completely.

Hopefully it clears up tomorrow, said Terrell Turner, whos on vacation in Myrtle Beach from Louisiana, to WNCN.

Well probably be back out here.

I hear theyre probably going to have another storm coming through, but hopefully it blows past and we can enjoy the beach..

Daily water samples will be taken until the bacteria levels decrease, which the DHEC says could take several days due to the widespread nature of the storm.
