USA news on Youtube Oct 25 2018

-How is your, how is your golf game?

I always bring it up every time you come on.

-I know you're a fan. -I'm a fan of golf.

-And you're gonna be, you're gonna be mad at me.

you're gonna be a little jealous of me, because I played

in the Ryder Cup. -I can't believe that.

-Yeah. -How is that possible?

-Uh-huh. Uh-huh. -Okay, wow.

-It's kind of the World Series of golf.

-Yeah. -And they basically have

all of the best golfers of the United States

fending off against all of the best golfers from Europe.

Tiger Woods and I played 36 straight holes together.

-Did you really? -No, that's not true.

He doesn't like me. -He didn't even wave at you?

-But the day before the big tournament actually starts...

[ Indistinct chatter ]

-You really did. My God. -I was like, "Wow, cool."

-Wow you're changing. -[ Laughs ] Am I really?

-But the day before they start the big tournament,

they had this sort of amateur, you know, U.S. team of athletes

and some actors against the European group.

And so we had a cool group. We had Sam Jackson there.

We had Kurt Russell, we had John McEnroe.

-Yeah! -Who literally says,

after he hits a bad shot, "You can't be serious!"

-[ Laughs ] He actually does say it.

-Michael Phelps, Condoleezza Rice is a golfer.

-Really? -Yeah.

-How is she as a golfer? -Oh, she, she plays fast.

She's very quick. She's used to solving world crisis I guess.

-Yeah, exact-- yeah. What she hits. She's off.

-She hits and she goes. -She's running.

-Actors like to talk more. -Yeah exactly.

-But it's a nerve-wracking thing because you're actually at

Le Course National, it was in France an you know.

-I couldn't tell, I thought it was in...

-Did you feel, like, when I was --

[Imitates French accent] it's called Le Course National.

-[ Imitates French accent ] Oh, then it must be in France.

-Yes. Oui. -Oh. Oui, oui?

-No, just "Oui." -Oh, just "Oui" yes of course.

-[ Normal voice ] So it was just really, uh, but you're nervous

because in the Ryder Cup, unlike the normal, you know,

golf tournament and people just kind of like,

if you hit a good shot people just kind of do that.

You know, quiet. Everything's nice.

At the Ryder Cup, long-standing tradition,

They're kind of, people are in it and they're ready to

defend their turf and, like, as an American,

if you hit a good shot, they, they boo.

And it's in France so it's a French boo.

It's like a "Beh."

[ Laughter ] Beh.

-Of course, [imitates a French boo]

-Try it. Beh. -Beh.

-Yeah it's in the back. -If it's real bad,

it's baguette. -Beh.

-Beh-guette. -Beh-guette.

-Behh. -Beh-guette.

-[ Normal voice ] So they -- you're getting boo'd?

-[ Normal voice ] Yeah so they'll boo you.

And, but they will cheer you if, if you hit a bad shot.

-Oh, yeah, I guess so. Yeah. -So I delivered on that,

periodically. -[ Laughs ]

-But, uh... --How did you end up doing?

-Well, you know, my partner was Luke Wilson and, um...

-Love that guy. -Ow!

-Yeah. Oh, yeah. -He's great. Absolutely.

-That's what I thought. -Yeah. Sure.

-We used to be friends. No, it was like go, we got down,

heavily in the match early on.

And so rather than supporting each other

and doing that whole thing, we, we basically started

humiliating each other in just random horrible attacks.

-Really? -And just infighting.

Because we were nervous, you know?

We were, we weren't doing well so as it turns out

when your partner after you hit a bad shot, tells you,

"You really suck at golf." -Yeah.

-It doesn't make you hit the next shot better.

-Better. No, no, it doesn't, no. -It's not helpful.

-No. No, not at all. -It's not a helpful thing.

-Not a helpful thing at all.

It's not a helpful thing for him to say.

But how did you end up? -We, uh, we kicked a little ass.

Yeah, we won. -Oh, really?

For America. -Yeah that's right.

For the United States of America.

-For the United States of America,

here is the victory shot right here the whole team.

-Yeah there it is. -There you go.

[ Cheers and applause ]

-My, man, not bad. -You know what I'm saying?

-Where, where are you?

Where is, uh, where is Greg Kinnear?

-Uh, yeah I'm back in the... no, no that's Nick Jonas.

[ Laughter ]

-That's Nick Jonas.

-That's Nick Jonas. I don't know.

That's Phelps, I think, over there.

-Yep. -There's Condel--

You got, uh. I think I'm well...

-Kurt Russell? Are you here? -Yeah, keep going.

[ Laughter ]

I think -- -That your head?

-Yeah, no, that's Luke. -Sam?

-Sam really, I think... -There he is.

Greg Kinnear! There he is! -Yeah.

World Champion. World Champion right there.

[ Cheers and applause ]

You're barely in this photo.

This is a terrible photo of you. -I'm kind of thinking,

"Was I there?" now. -Yeah, I don't even think

you were there. -Ah, it really -- I celebrate

with my nostrils, though. You can still see that I'm...

-You really do. -How about Sam?

Look at Sam Jackson, for crying out loud.

he's like owning the entire photograph.

-He's fan-- he's a good golfer, isn't he?

-He's pretty good. Yeah. -Yeah.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leave Fiji and head to Tonga - Duration: 21:18.

The Duchess of Sussex made a minor fashion faux pas today when she arrived in Tonga in a striking red dress

Pregnant Meghan Markle still had the label hanging from her Self Portrait dress as she walked along a red carpet to the sounds of local singers wearing grass skirts at Fua'amotu Airport in Nuku'alofa, the country's capital

The £345 (AU$628 / US$444) bright red floral dress, which mirrored the colour of the Tongan flag, was accompanied by a Christian Dior Clutch and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps

Despite making the rare fashion faux pas by leaving the tag on her outfit, the 37-year-old mother-to-be looked radiant in the red design, holding hands with her husband Prince Harry following their 90-minute flight from Fiji

The royal couple were welcomed to the country by Her Royal Highness The Princess Angelika Latufuipeka, the only daughter and eldest child of King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u Tuku'ah

Later on Meghan dazzled in her third outfit of the day - an elegant white full-length evening dress by Theia Couture - as the couple dined with the Tongan royals

Afterwards they attended an official reception and dinner. It came on the tenth day of Harry and pregnant Meghan's 16-day tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand - and hours after the Duke had been unveiling a memorial for a British-Fijian soldier who died at the Battle of Mirbat

Prince Harry pulled it off with a flourish and then posed for photographs as his wife watched proudly

Sergeant Talaiasi Labalaba, a Fijian member of the elite British Special Air Service (SAS), single-handedly held off 250 attackers from taking an army base 46-years-ago

Labalaba, renowned as one of the SAS's greatest heroes, gave his life in an epic struggle to defend his fellow soldiers at the Battle of Mirbat, in what is now Yemen, in 1972

Labalaba and eight fellow SAS soldiers were stationed at a British Army training team house just outside the port of Mirbat in Oman

For a year the crack unit had been on a secret assignment, codenamed Operation Jaguar, to protect the Sultan of Oman from an insurgent force, the People's Front for the Liberation of the Occupied Arab Gulf

On the morning of July 19, 1972, 250 of the Front's best fighters stormed the port in a surprise attack that left the nine SAS men pinned down inside their fort

Labalaba, 30, knew that without heavier fire power, the unit faced almost certain annihilation

In a daring break, he sprinted across an exposed 800 yard stretch to reach a 25-pound field gun

The gun usually required three men to operate it, and by the time he reached it Labalaba was soaked in blood from a bullet wound to his jaw

But the elite soldier, still under heavy fire, spun the cumbersome weapon to face the advancing guerrilla fighters and opened up from close range, decimating them

Ignoring his wounds he continued to hold off the 250 Front fighters for six hours

Captain Mike Kealy and comrades Tommy Tobin and Sekonaia Takavesi also ran the 800 yard gauntlet to try to save the courageous sergeant's life

They arrived too late, but Labalaba had held off the guerrilla force long enough for the Sultan's Strikemaster jets to arrive

The jets drove back the attackers while reinforcements from nearby Salalah were organised

In SAS: Operation Storm, a book recounting the battle, fellow trooper Roger Cole wrote that the fight would surely have been lost had Labalaba not taken the 25-pounder

The sergeant was posthumously awarded a Mention in Dispatches for his bravery, and his body was returned to England, where it was buried at St Martin's Church in Hereford

A statue to the war hero was erected at the SAS headquarters outside the town in 2009

Labalaba is an enduring legend among Fijians, 1,250 of whom are currently serving in the British Army

The soldier's son, Isaia Dere Labalaba, 53, was at the ceremony and spoke of his pride that Prince Harry would be unveiling his father's statue

'I'm so excited, so happy today. I last saw him (my father) in 1971 when he left for his tour of duty

He was meant to come home again within days when he died. I was just four years and 11-months-old,' he said

'He was a really family man, my father. I am very excited to meet Prince Harry. It is a great honour that he has agreed to do this

'His comrade Sekonaia Takavesi Wakolo, 75, was with Labalaba when he died and was himself shot in the shoulder by a bullet that just missed his head

'We were blood brothers, we stood side by side. It was the last day of our five month tour

We had some rum to celebrate the night before and had packed our belongings and gone to sleep before the handover,' he said

'It was 4am when the attack started. We thought it would be just another skirmish and they would hear back into the mountains

But it wasn't and we were outnumbered.' He added how 'we have campaigned for a long time for a statue to commemorate him'

'It is wonderful to have a memorial to him here in Fiji. It is very important to The Fijian people,' he said

'We were very proud to serve the Crown so it means a lot to us to have Prince Harry here to unveil it

His brother Prince William unveiled a statue on Hereford in 2014. 'Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya said of Harry and Meghan's trip to Fiji: 'We are proud to host them

This is a worldwide event so it is tremendous for us. They are a couple with global appeal to everyone'

He confirmed that the newlyweds, who are expecting their first child in April, spent last night on the paradise isle of Vatuvara together

This private island boasts it offers 'conscientious luxury to the discerning traveller' and is 'one of the world's most beautiful places'

It has three secluded and expansive seaside Villas, meticulously crafted with natural textures and materials creating spacious and comfortably elegant environments

FIJIAN PARADISE MEGHAN AND HARRY ESCAPED TO  Harry and Meghan spent their final night in Fiji on the private isles of Vatuvara, away from throngs of adoring crowds

The royal couple spent Wednesday night on the idyllic Vatuvara Islands, about an hour east of the Fijian capital Suva

Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya described the island as a paradise which showcases the Fijian peoples' spirit

Though there are no prices on the island's website, a private stay costs about $5,000-a-night, boasting three secluded and expansive seaside villas, meticulously crafted with local materials

Expansive beaches and crystal clear waters greet early risers, with 800 acres of private land available for explorers and even a small, four-hole golf course

Meghan, who revealed earlier in the tour she had been rising as early as 4.30am to do yoga, would have been fully provided for by the island's private classes

'Vatuvara is one of those islands you will not forget. It showcases the Fijian spirit and what we have as Fijian people

It's absolutely beautiful. Stunning. They would have enjoyed themselves,' Mr Koya said

After the ceremony, the couple boarded their Qantas charter fight for the South Pacific nation of Tonga, the third country they are visiting during their 16-day trip on behalf of the Queen

The royal couple are spending just one night in Tonga before heading back to Sydney, Australia for the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games

They will have two nights in Sydney and will then fly to New Zealand where their tour draws to a close
