Trump Gives Presidential Coin A Makeover, His Haters Are Furious Over 1 Change
The latest White House tradition to be given an epic makeover by President Donald
Trump is the presidential challenge coin.
After seeing one change Trump made to the coin, his haters were beside themselves with
fury.
Trump made quite a few noticeable changes to the coin of his predecessors, some of which
have drawn the ire of those on the left.
The alteration which seems to have infuriated Trumps haters the most, though, is the
addition of the presidents campaign slogan in place of the national motto, E Pluribus
Unum.
Some of the changes include the presidential seal being replaced by an eagle with President
Trumps signature, the eagles head facing right instead of left, and the replacement
of the national motto, E pluribus unum, with Trumps campaign slogan, Make America
Great Again, according to the Post.
Additionally, the coin is thicker, features Trumps name three times, and is, according
to a White House aide, very gold.
Its definitely not a standard coin, said coin collector John Wertman.
Im assuming the gold appeals directly to Trump.
He has a certain way he projects himself.
It should be noted that this coin is more ceremonial than anything else, so for all
the Trump-haters to get their panties in a wad over the changes the president has made
is a complete waste of energy.
Its not as if this thing will be in circulation as actual money, though it will be worth quite
a chunk of change as a collectors item.
A custom dating back 20 years, presidential challenge coins have traditionally been handed
out to service members in commemoration of special achievements and milestones.
President Trumps coin, which many saw on Friday for the first time, is unmistakably
different from its predecessors.
Gone is the national motto, E pluribus unum, meaning out of many, one. In its place
appears the presidents campaign slogan, Make America Great Again, which the
administration has also used on official White House documents.
The traditional presidential seal has been replaced by an eagle looking rightward, with
President Trumps signature beneath it.
Instead of holding the customary 13 arrows representing the original states, or an olive
branch, the eagle is perched behind a red, white and blue shield, with 13 stars around
its wings.
Sure, Make America Great Again was Trumps campaign slogan, but is it really a partisan
sentiment to want to restore our country to the excellence she was once known for?
It certainly shouldnt be.
Nationalism should not be a value associated with one political party.
All Americans should take pride in our country and count themselves as patriots.
Coincidentally, all of the haters who are now livid over the changes Donald Trump made
to his own presidential coin were notably silent when Barack Obama made a massive change
to the twenty dollar bill, replacing President Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman in a pathetic
attempt to appear racially sensitive. It would seem that this alteration would be
much more offensive, seeing as the $20 bill is used by millions of American each and every
day.
