Watch: Man Asks Pastor About C-Ville, Gets Answer Every American Needs to Hear | Top Stories Today - Duration: 10:14.

When asked during a recent Q&A for a biblical interpretation of the events that transpired

earlier this month in Charlottesville, Virginia, where white supremacists duked it out with

violent leftist thugs, and one young woman died, pastor John F. MacArthur replied with

the truth.

All the current drama and turmoil in society — from the increased media attention on

white supremacist groups to the rise of frequent anti-cop, anti-Confederate, anti-you name

it protests and riots — has little to do with racism, bigotry, slavery and whatever

else, MacAruther said, but rather with a breakdown in basic Christian family values.

"You have a whole generation of young people that have been taught a twisted perverted

inverted upside down and backwards moral law … And the dominant part of this new morality

is, 'I'm the most important person in the world, it's all about me.'"

And the increasingly disturbing acts we see happening around us are merely manifestations

of this evil, said MacArthur, the pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California.

"And we have only begun to see it once it's unleashed," he said.

"And it's going to start coming in all kinds of forms because of the breakdown of

moral law, the breakdown of the conscience, the breakdown of the family, and because of

the incessant assaults on governing authorities."

Take the newfound attention being given to white supremacist groups.

"No one tolerates white supremacists," MacArthur rightly noted, the point being that

the society-wide racism and bigotry of the Jim Crow era is long gone.

And he would know.

He saw that racism and bigotry firsthand.

"I was in the room — when Martin Luther King was assassinated — with those black

leaders, and we went to Memphis, and I stood on the blood spots on that motel with those

men," he said.

"And I stood in the little bathroom on top of the toilet where James Earl Ray shot him

out the window.

Those men were my friends; that was my community."

But those days are in the past.

What's happening now, MacArthur maintained, runs much deeper.

"That's not what's going on there in Charlottesville or any of these other demonstrations,"

he said.

"This is the wretched fallen human heart feeling like it can rise to any level that

is not completely controlled."

Hurricane Harvey WARNING: 'Life-threatening' hurricane - 12ft storm surge and 120mph winds - Duration: 5:26.

Hurricane Harvey WARNING: 'Life-threatening' hurricane - 12ft storm surge and 120mph winds

Thousands of people have been evacuated amid warnings Hurricane Harvey, the most powerful weather system to hit the US in almost 12 years, will hit the USA late this evening or early tomorrow morning.

Texas governor Greg Abbott has activated 700 members of the state National Guard and put military helicopters on standby in preparation for search and rescues and emergency evacuations.

The head of the National Weather Service said the storm posed "a grave risk to the folks in Texas". Earlier this afternoon tweeted: "I have spoken with Governor Abbott of Texas and Louisiana Governor Edwards.

Closely monitoring #HurricaneHarvey developments & here to assist as needed."    .

While the NOAA's National Weather Service also warned conditions will only get worse, possibly peaking at 1pm, as it warned Texas citizens to be ready by morning. A statement said: Now is the time to urgently hide from the wind.

Failure to adequately shelter may result in serious injury, loss of life, or immense human suffering. Remain sheltered until the hazardous wind subsides.

Be ready to quickly move to the safest place within your shelter if extreme wind warnings are issued. The NOAA also described the potential impact of the storm as: Devastating to Catastrophic.

And they told officials and citizens to aggressively prepare before the storm hits - saying: Evacuation efforts should now be brought to completion. Evacuations must be complete before driving conditions become unsafe..

Harvey grew into a category 2 storm with winds of 115 mph as it moved northwest of Corpus Christi, Texas, and is expected to come ashore as a Category 3 - the third most powerful on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

Up to 35 inches of rain are expected over parts of Texas, with winds up to 125 mph, and sea levels may surge as high as 12 feet (3.7 meters). Louisiana could get 10 to 15 inches of rain.

Flood warnings are in effect for Louisiana and northern Mexico. The hurricane centre said: Life-threatening and devastating flooding expected near the coast due to heavy rainfall and storm surge..

At least 40 flights in and out of major airports in Texas on Friday have been cancelled, according to Flightaware.com.

A number of oil refineries are expected to shut down including three refineries in Corpus Christi and one farther inland at Three Rivers. Dozens of schools have been closed as resident are urged to leave the area until the storm passes.

Both Louisiana and Texas have declared states of disaster, mean they are now authorised to use state resources to prepare for the storm. President Donald Trump has been briefed and is ready to provide resources if needed, the White House said on Thursday.

A statement from the NOAA said: Harvey is expected to continue to strengthen into a hurricane on Friday before landfall.  The primary impact from Harvey remains heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding for southeast Texas, but there is also the threat for tropical storm to hurricane force winds and storm surge along the coast.  The most likely arrival time for tropical storm force winds to reach the upper Texas coast is during the day on Friday."  Harvey will be the first hurricane to strike Texas since 2008, when Hurricane Ike killed 21 people in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Currently a Hurricane Warning stretches from Port Mansfield to Sargent, while a storm Surge Warning is in also effect for areas between Port Mansfield and High Island. .

RIT TigerBot Humanoid Robot Project - Duration: 2:19.

[MUSIC]

>> TigerBot is a humanoid robot.

>> We were looking to build a humanoid research platform for different programs at RIT.

>> The project as a whole, it started in the research lab then went up through the college

and the university and the companies.

>> It started off with a robot that was about two feet tall.

Every year it's grown and grown, and the past three years we've been tackling the full-scale

humanoid, which is kind of a giant leap from what the previous years have been doing.

We built, from the ground up, a full-scale humanoid robot.

This year we focused a lot on trying to implement biomimetic design features.

And what that means is looking at how humans and other animals move and trying to replicate

that in a mechanical sense.

Because a lot of research has shown that that actually provides better control and lends

itself better to realizing a more human-like walking gate.

>> We are trying to mimic the biological systems of human beings and hopefully implementing

them on TigerBot and making sure that both intelligence and the controls are implemented

successfully.

>> Some of the examples of that are in our hips - the human hip is a ball joint.

What we've done is we've combined three motors.

And to replicate that exact range of motion, all three of those motors are oriented so

that their axes of rotation all intersect at one point.

And that one point becomes the center of our ball joint.

From now, doctoral students and masters students are going to take the humanoid robot and they're

going to work on walking gate algorithms.

What that will do for us is it's going to teach us how to make machines walk and move

more like humans.

As we learn from trying to replicate human motion, we're going to learn more about how

we can make improvements in prosthetics, in exoskeleton design and in regular old robots

that can help around the house or in business space or even in a factory floor.
