USA news on Youtube Sep 27 2018

I'd like to talk about an example of replay interpolation that actually went to court.

It was in Southern District of New York as two famous acts.

One is Sugarhill Gang,

the first rap artist to have a Top 40 hit,

and the other artist is Busta Rhymes.

Sugarhill Gang have a song called "Natural Wonder",

and about almost two minutes into the song,

they say, "Woo HAH!

Got them all in check."

So, that's the line, "Woo HAH!

Got them all in check".

Okay. Busta Rhymes, years later,

has a song called "Woo HAH".

What Sugarhill Gang said was, "Woo HAH.

Got them all in check",

and what Busta Rhymes said was,

"Woo HAH, Woo HAH.

Got you all in check."

It's a different phrase, it seems obvious,

a lot of people thought it was obvious that Busta Rhymes was referring to Sugarhill Gang,

that he took that line and interpolated it,

re-performed it into his composition.

So the question came down to,

was that infringement or not?

So, the things that had to be considered,

Sugarhill Gang, in their song,

it does say, "Woo HAH.

Got them all in check."

In Busta Rhymes song,

it says, "Woo HAH, Woo HAH.

Got you all in check."

So, there are differences between "Got you all in check",

"Got them all in check",

and the "Woo HAH, Woo HAH" versus just one "Woo HAH".

Was this an interpolation or replay?

Was Busta Rhymes taking the Sugarhill Gang expression and just sticking into his song?

Is that what he did?

Yes, he did but he changed it.

To listen to it, you can see where it's on different beats,

the third and fourth beat of the measure, like,

"Woo HAH, Woo HAH" as opposed to "Woo HAH".

Sugarhill Gang say, "Woo HAH".

The end of a beat of a measure to the beginning, "Woo HAH."

Busta Rhymes says, "Woo HAH, Woo HAH".

It's that difference was which I think is significant.

It's changed, it's doubled the "Woo HAHs",

but it's also similar.

To go through a few more considerations of it,

one is to say,

are Sugarhill Gang the first people to ever say, "Woo HAH"?

What does "Woo HAH" mean,

or "Woo HAH, Woo HAH"?

Is there some significant meaning to that?

Did that originate with them?

Is that original lyric to Sugarhill Gang?

The answer is no.

It comes from a lot of Kung Fu movies.

So, Sugarhill Gang did not come up with "Woo HAH".

They were copying an expression made famous in Kung Fu movies.

So, how original is "Woo HAH" in terms of the fair use analysis?

It's two words, some might think it's one word,

but it's two syllables.

Can you own that?

They even admitted that,

"Yeah, we watch Kung Fu.

That's where we got that 'Woo HAH."

Buster Rhymes did it twice,

changed, he said, "Got you all in check,

" and Sugarhill Gang said,

"Got them all in check," and rhythmically different,

and it went to court.

It had expert witnesses on both sides.

I was on one side,

and I won't say just yet.

I'd rather you think this out.

Listen to the recordings, for example,

and who would you side with?

NEW - Payment Plans Now Available for Planner Academy - closes Sunday 9/30 @ 11:59pm EST - Duration: 7:24.

- I am super excited to announce

that I am now able to offer you payment plans.

So if you were not able to register prior

when I had the cart open for Planner Academy

and or for Boss School you now one have a second chance.

As well as if the payments were just a little too

steep for you right now at this time

and maybe you just weren't prepared for me to open up

Planner Academy or Boss School

then I think this is going to be

a really great solution for you.

These are much more manageable payments,

you can get all of these payments in for 2018.

But you can spread them out

and you can still realize your dream of creating a planner.

So you're still going to get access to all of the modules,

all of the designs, all of the templates.

I haven't taken anything away

but there is a content release schedule,

so let's just go through that because I want to make sure

that you understand everything that you're getting

and how it's going to work.

Like I mentioned,

I just threw something together really quick

because I wanted to accommodate

all the requests I'm getting for payment plans.

Because if you really want to create a planner for 2019

I want to help you.

So I've never done payment plans before

but this is what I think

is going to work out well for everybody

and still cover all the administrative cost

to set this all up.

Now the first option over here is Planner Academy Core

and you can still pay in full

if that is something you have decided you want to do

and maybe you just missed the deadline before

because I did end it on a Tuesday at like 9:00 a.m.

if you were on the West Coast.

So you can still pay $497 for that

or if you want to do the payment plan

you can do three payments of $179.

And don't worry, I did the maths for you,

that comes out to $537 versus the $497 if you paid in full.

The second option is if you want to do Boss School

plus Planner Academy,

that is still able to be enrolled

at full price at the $997,

you can just pay everything at once

or you could do three payments of $367

and then that comes out to $1101.

Now, the drip schedule for the content release

is very different if you are doing

the payment plans versus paying in full.

So if you pay full you get instant access

to everything right away.

There are no payment plans and it doesn't,

I just put a dash because it's not even applicable.

But if you're doing the payment plan,

you're still going to get a ton of material

in that first week and the second month.

So what happens is, as soon as you pay, like right away,

you are going to get access to Branding 101

which is a huge massive course all by itself

as well as all of the templates and the bonuses

and the extras inside of there

and then you're also going to get access to 201.

Now, 201 has all of the design lessons

to create your annual, your monthly,

your weekly and your daily

as well as the matching templates that go with that,

so you will get those templates.

Now once you make your second payment on November 2nd,

you are going to get access to the next two modules

which is 301, which is more design lessons

on how to create supplemental pages like the grocery list

or the, what else did I have?

Interior, exterior pages, your cover sheet.

We had some to-do lists and checkboxes in there

and you will get the templates for all of those as well.

In addition, you will get which I think is probably

the most valuable part of the course

and you'll get access to 401

which is all the print and production vendors

as well as, and I didn't even add it here,

the packaging vendors both international and domestic.

When I say domestic I mean U.S.

because that's where I'm based.

And then after that,

once you make your third and final payment on December 1st,

you're going to get access to 501

which is the new marketing lesson that I put together

as well as 601 which is the business webinar.

All those free webinars I did this week,

the worksheets, the slide decks, all of that.

And I've to mention,

even all the ones before you're going to get the slide decks

from all of the lessons prior within each of those weeks.

And you're also going to get all six of the bonus materials

once you make that final and last payment.

Now, if you are in Boss School,

because the way Boss School runs

and the nature of having to meet every single week,

there is actually no waiting for Boss School.

So as soon as you make that first payment

you get instant access to everything

that is inside of Boss School

and we obviously meet every week

and if I made you wait, that doesn't make any sense.

So Boss School you still would wait

for the Planner Academy materials to be released you,

but as far as Boss School itself,

just doing those weekly coaching sessions

you still get those right away.

Now, if you decide midway through,

"Hey, you know what?

"It's October 20th and I just, I got a bonus at work

"or my parents or my significant other

"just wants to give me the extra cash

"and I would like to go ahead and pay everything in full."

You can go ahead and full pay

whatever you have paid prior

and up to the difference between the $537 or the $1101

depending on which program you're in.

And you can just let me know, I'll send you an invoice

and I will give you instant access then

to the rest of the material

and you won't have to do a content release schedule.

So again I was really excited to put this together.

I hope this works out, because I really want

as many people who want to be in Planner Academy

and to make their own planner to be able to do so.

Now you will still be able to get your planner done by 2019,

you know all the design lessons,

again are going to happen before well,

well before Black Friday and Cyber Monday,

so you can still get that out there.

You might be missing some of the marketing

and bonus materials.

But again if you decide to accelerate your payments

I'm happy to release all of those bonus materials

and the future modules to you all at once.

Alright, I think I'm sure I haven't answered

any other questions that you may be thinking of

because they haven't done planner, our payment plans before.

But if you have any questions just let me know,

leave them in the comments below

and I will make sure to answer them right away

or if you have a specific situation,

go ahead and drop me a personal email.

Now the cart will open up tomorrow on Friday

for these payment plans and also to allow you to pay in full

again in case you missed it before

and it will only be open until Sunday at midnight.

So I won't end it at 9:00 a.m. like I did before,

I'll do it at midnight.

So it will end at midnight on Sunday,

so you only have three days to decide,

Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Because everything really starts on October 1st for you

and I think that is going to be the most efficient

to make sure you get out

through all the material that you need

if you want to sell a planner by Black Friday.

Alright, I am super excited to see you in the course.

I'm even more excited to see what beautiful planner designs

that you have inside of your head waiting to get out there.

All right, bye.

(melodious instrumental music)
