You can travel from the airport to the city center in a public bus for 30-40 Mauritian Rupee
Airport is in the South of the country
We are going towards the North
Sugarcane fields!
They harvest Sugarcane with machines
Besides Tourism, Sugarcane is another main source of income for Mauritius
Our hotel is 45 kms far from here. Will take around 1 to 1.5 hour
Like many places in rural India, here also they calculate distance in hours, not in kilometres
You can also hire a taxi for 1000-1200 Mauritian Rupees from the airport to the city centre
This is the longest highway of Mauritius - M1
There is no railways in this country
Due to the problem of traffic jams in Port Louis, they are now coming up with a new metro
He said, an Indian company "L&T" is going to develop this metro
The Indian labours landed at this point in Mauritius
He is sharing a lot of information
Thanks
Now we have almost reached our destination after travelling around 40-45 kilometres

Don't dance, Don't stand up, Don't do anything which may topple the boat. Just keep quiet
Though this gentleman is himself jumping in the boat
There's a real nip in the air this morning.
This is early July
I am feeling like we all are escaping from our country in this boat
These are 'Pakodas'
Isn't this also called 'Bhajiya' in Maharashtra
These are made of Lentils and Chilly

I am feeling so good
After having gateau pemaux, coffee and bread in the boat...
we are going to have a formal breakfast

I felt good to see someone in an Indian saree in Mauritius
I am having, Aloo-poori, Upma and Puttu
I think today we are going to visit historical places
Mauritius is quite special for us Indians
Our former Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihar Vajpayee once said...
Mauritius is 'Mini-India'
There are quite a lot of similarities between us
So I think its important to understand the history and heritage of this country, esp for Indians
There are a lot of people speaking Hindi, following Hinduism
They have written 'welcome' in Hindi at the Airport
Their traditional food is Daal-Poori
Today evening we are going to have it
There are a lot of Indian and Vegetarian restaurants in this country
Pawan is a popular Food Blogger
he runs Indian food freak website
If you are a food, you can visit his website to learn more about food on this trip
Now we have reached at the reception
I have not bought the local sim as the hotel's wifi is quite good
we also have WiFi in our bus
so I am not feeling a need to buy a sim
still I will share details on how to buy a sim
Why the buses have just one seat in the front!
we have to make a compromise sometimes when another person needs to shoot
now I am going to sit at the back
"Varun does not allow anyone to shoot"
when did I stop you to shoot!
'allow us also to shoot, Mr. Varun '
Sir, I will sit on the top of the van, you please enjoy the front seat
"You both are fighting for the front seat, so now I am going to sit in the front"
no struggle at all. I can sit at the backseats for the whole trip!
I will ask our driver to sit at the back seat and drive
