USA news on Youtube Mar 29 2018

A volcanic eruption of Mount Etna on the island of Sicily,

released a lava flow one mile wide, and four feet deep.

The molten rock destroyed the homes of twenty thousand inhabitants.

This disaster overshadowed news of the previous week in the Italian press.

Members of the richest families of Rome, had vanished without a trace.

They did return, more than once... proving the existence of a time travel tunnel in Italy.

Zanetti Trasporti was an Italian locomotive builder,

offering to serve wealthy travelers with a luxury railcar of modern design.

On July 14th, 1911, on tracks at the Roma Termini train station, a steam engine was

a steam engine was coupled to three prototypes of the new railcar,

awaiting the upper class passengers with buckets of champagne.

To advertise the luxury railcar,

local socialites and wealthy businessmen were given on that day, a free ride.

The passenger list was limited to one hundred privileged guests.

The crew consisted of six men.

Before entering a tunnel through one of the Lombardy mountains,

the train reduced its speed to a crawl.

The passengers could see the reason for this through the windows.

The entrance to the tunnel was filled with a white mist, so thick that it looked like milk,

spilling from the subterranean passage.

Two of the Italians, one passenger and one of the crew, were so disturbed by this sight,

and filled with such dread, that they opened one of the railcar doors, and jumped from the train.

The train was swallowed by the mist and the mountain.

It never arrived at its destination.

The following search of the tunnel found no part of the locomotive and its three carriages.

Influence by the wealthiest families of Rome,

resulted in the southern entrance of the tunnel being sealed with bricks.

Six other railway tunnels provided alternate passage through the Lombardy mountain range.

During World War II, as the result of Allied bombing,

the other entrance to the tunnel, was closed by falling rocks.

With a reputation in ruins, Zanetti Trasporti went bankrupt.

The train did not appear again... until 1955, in the Crimea.

Peter Puteyny, a signalman working near the city of Balaklava,

witnessed a primitive steam train running along an embankment which had once held railway tracks.

Chickens which were feeding on the hill, bounced off the front of the locomotive.

Large yellow Italian lettering on the sides of the three carriages,

was the same as the lettering on the Zanetti luxury railcars.

The cars moved slowly, as if the engineer was having difficulty seeing ahead.

Puteyny got a good look at the engineer, who was wearing an outdated shirt,

with a white collar attached by buttons.

Beginning in 1991, paranormal researcher Nikolai Cherkashin

hunted historical records for other possible appearances of the train.

A Medieval manuscript, discovered at the San Pietro monastery of Modena in Italy, records an apparition

from the year 1476, consisting of four large iron carriages in a row,

The first carriage had a black pipe, belching smoke, or steam.

Benedictine monks, working at the construction of a church adjacent to the Abbey,

observed passengers, looking out of their windows,

appearing just as frightened as the Benedictines themselves.

Naturally, the Catholic brotherhood concluded the accursed souls were on their way to Hades.

The journal of the 19th century Mexican psychiatrist Jose Saxino,

contains a peculiar paragraph dated 1845, concerning 104 of his patients.

They were a group of Italians, who had wandered into Mexico City.

They all said they just arrived on a train from Rome.

Before the Zanetti luxury line disappeared again,

the passengers and crew had escaped with their lives.

Unfortunately, in Mexico,

all the survivors were involuntarily committed, to the first psychiatric facility in the Americas, San Hipólito,

where according to hospital records, they stayed for the remainder of their lives.

Republican tax cuts not working out as the GOP intended - Duration: 2:22.

Republican tax cuts not working out as the GOP intended

Last fall, shortly after Thanksgiving, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) was clearly aware

of the criticisms of her partys regressive tax plan, but she was eager to defend it anyway,

insisting that the plan would be implemented effectively.

The purpose of lowering the corporate rate is to encourage job creation here, Collins

argued at the time.

It is not to encourage stock buybacks.

Hows that working out?

Right after Republicans in Congress passed their tax bill, lowering tax rates on corporations,

companies delivered a very public thank-you: a series of bonus and investment announcements.

It was a major PR opportunity for both corporate America and the GOP, meant to show that American

businesses were sharing their billions of dollars in tax cut savings with their workers

and the broader economy.

But over the next few months, the real winners from the corporate tax cut became clear not

workers and consumers, but shareholders.

Companies have boosted dividends and stock buybacks.

To borrow Collins phrasing, this may not have been the intended purpose of giant

corporate tax breaks, but as Voxs report makes clear, its become the result just

as many Democratic critics of the Republican plan predicted.

Theres plenty of related evidence to bolster the point.

Business Insider reported yesterday, for example, A new survey published by the Federal Reserve

Bank of Atlanta in conjunction with Stanford University and University of Chicago Booth

School economists shows [the measures in the new Republican tax plan] have done little

to bolster corporate investment plans.

As for the public, a CNBC poll, released yesterday, found that a majority of Americans have seen

no change in their paychecks as a result of the new tax cuts.

Some, however, have reason to be pleased: the Wall Street Journal reported this week

that the average banker bonus in New York City was $184,220 last year, the biggest

annual haul for Wall Street employees since before the financial crisis.

Note, that $184,220 figure isnt the salary; thats just the average size of the bonus

for New York bankers.

After seeing a report like that, its hard not to think of House Speaker Paul Ryan and

his recent boast about that secretary in Pennsylvania whos now getting an extra $1.50 per week

thanks to the Republican plan.

A brief history of how Parkland survivor David Hogg keeps schooling lawmakers on social media - Duration: 3:04.

A brief history of how Parkland survivor David Hogg keeps schooling lawmakers on social media

in under 280 characters, David Hogg has mastered the art of the clapback.

The Parkland survivor rose to the spotlight after demanding that lawmakers "take some

action" following the shooting that claimed 17 lives at his school.

But as some politicians go online to discredit him and his peers, Hogg proves that no one

is more social media savvy than a teenager on a mission.

On Monday, Iowan Republican Rep. Steve King took a jab at the young activists, asking

why people under 21 should be allowed to vote if they feel like they're too young to handle

the responsibility of gun ownership.

"Maybe because so many of us are gunned down before we even become 21 @SteveKingIA you

prove exactly why so many American's are done with politicians like you who only have the

goal of dividing America to make us weaker," Hogg lobbed back.

The exchange occurred after King's campaign posted a Facebook meme attacking student organizer

Emma Gonzalez for sporting a Cuban flag at the March For Our Lives.

Hogg quickly jumped to his friend's defense.

She's a beautiful woman of Cuban descent and we love her," he responded.

"You would too if you ever got the chance to meet her.

We need to love each other as Americans regaurdless of our descent, ethnicity or race.

#LoveTrumpsHate" Which he followed up with, "Also who's running

against this guy."

Hogg is the target of quite a few conspiracies himself.

But he isn't letting King -- or other lawmakers -- off the hook so easily.

He also called out Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, who has been vocal about his

Cuban heritage, for not backing Gonzalez up.Hey @MarcoRubio," he wrote.

"@Emma4Change s family fled Cuba to escape totalitarianism and live in freedom just like

your family could you please respond to @SteveKingIA" It's not the first time Stoneman Douglas students

have put the pressure on Rubio.

During a CNN town hall, they challenged the Florida legislator and NRA spokeswoman Dana

Loesch on gun laws.

And Hogg hasn't forgotten about Rubio's ties to the gun rights organization.

So when the senator tweeted on March 25 that people with different political views can

come together to "achieve meaningful change" -- in reference to his phone call with a victim's

mother -- Hogg had something to say.ou can too Rubio, by denouncing the NRA or resigning,"

he replied.

" I'll gladly pay the $1.05 for you to do so.

Denounce them and join the revolution, for you know how these people at the NRA scare

and manipulate politicians far more than anyone."

In fact, many marchers wore $1.05 price tags during the March For Our Lives, which were

meant to represent the total sum of NRA donations Rubio received divided by the number of students

in the state of Florida.

This, they believe, is how much the lawmaker values the life of each student.

White House calls police shootings of black men 'a local matter' - Duration: 2:54.

White House calls police shootings of black men 'a local matter'

President Donald Trump has encouraged police officers to be rougher on suspects they arrest.

He has deployed federal authorities to stem gun violence in Chicago.

And he has repeatedly called for police nationwide to implement tough-on-crime policies.

But when it comes to the deaths of black men at the hands of police, Trump believes those

incidents are a "local matter" that "should be left up to the local authorities," White

House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Wednesday.

"Certainly a terrible incident," Sanders said when asked about the fatal police shootings

of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Stephon Clark in California.

"This is something that is a local matter and that's something that we feel should be

left up to the local authorities at this point in timeLouisiana's attorney general on Tuesday

announced the state would not be filing charges against the two officers involved in Sterling's

death.

The US Justice Department had announced in May that it would not bring civil rights charges

against the officers following an investigation.

Pressed about the national implications of the cases and the national outcry that has

sounded out in the wake of numerous police shootings of black men in recent years, Sanders

stood by her comments.

"Certainly, we want to make sure that all law enforcement is carrying out the letter

of the law.

The President is very supportive of law enforcement, but at the same time in these specific cases

and these specific instances, those will be left up to the local authorities," Sanders

said.

Sanders then pivoted to the President's economic and security policies that she said are aimed

at benefiting all Americans, including recent policies aimed at boosting school safety in

the wake of the Parkland mass shooting.

"I think we should do every single thing we can every single day to protect the people

of this country," Sanders said.

"Whether they're black, white, Hispanic, male or female, rich or poor, we look for ways

to protect individuals in this country, particularly children."

Trump has not commented on the death of Stephon Clark, the unarmed black man who was shot

and killed last week by Sacramento, California, police in his grandmother's backyard after

police thought he was holding a gun.

Only a cell phone was found alongside his body.

He also has not commented on the Louisiana attorney general's decision not to file charges

against the officers involved in Sterling's death.

The White House was first pressed on Clark's death Monday, when deputy White House press

secretary Raj Shah said he was "not aware of any comments that (Trump) has" on the matter.

"Obviously, the President cares about any individual who would be harmed through no

fault of their own," Shah said.

Teen who went viral during Ferguson protests reported missing after family dies in car crash - Duration: 2:33.

Teen who went viral during Ferguson protests reported missing after family dies in car

crash

A teen who was seen hugging a police officer in a photo that went viral during 2014 protests

over the police-involved shooting death of Michael Brown has been reported missing after

several members of his family died in a horrific car crash.

Five people have been confirmed dead after the SUV they were in went off a cliff near

Mendocino in Northern California, on Monday, officials from the California Highway Patrol

and the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said in a joint press conference Wednesday

afternoon.

Search and rescue teams continue to look for Devonte Hart, 15, and his siblings, 16-year-old

Hannah Hart and 12-year-old Sierra Hart, officials said.

Their parents, Jennifer and Sarah Hart, and three of their siblings died in the crash.

The scene was "confusing," with no brake or skid marks before the car fell 75 feet into

the Pacific Ocean, authorities said.

Authorities have every reason to believe that all six children were in the SUV.

The victims were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, officials said.

Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly when the crash occurred, and there

were no witnesses.

The car engine was cold by the time first responders arrived on the scene, authorities

said.

There was no evidence left in the car, but police are searching for possible gas or hotel

receipts to obtain a better timeline, officials said, adding that they have "no reason to

believe" that the crash was "an intentional act."

Photo of cop hugging boy at Ferguson protest tells Poignant Story

A look at the destruction after Ferguson riots Police won't face charges in Alton Sterling

shooting case Devonte Hart was seen in a photo taken on

Nov. 25, 2014 hugging a police officer as tears streamed down his cheek during protests

in Portland, Oregon, over Brown's death in Ferguson, Missouri, and a grand jury's failure

to indict the officer who shot him.

The poignant photo was taken during a national outcry over police brutality.

The boy, who was 12 at the time, was carrying a sign at the demonstration that said "free

hugs," prompting the Portland police officer to ask him if he would "get one of those."

The moment was then captured by freelance photographer Johnny Nguyen.

Devonte Hart was the adoptive son of Jennifer and Sarah Hart, ABC Portland affiliate KATU

reported.

The family is from just outside Woodland, Washington, a suburb of Portland, according

to KATU.

They appeared to have embarked on a short trip because many of their belongings, along

with their chickens and a family pet, were still at their home, AP reported.
