Chuck Schumer's Big Plan Just Went Down In Flames Because Of One Senator

Chuck Schumer laid out a two-step plan for Democrats.

Democrats would win back the Senate in 2018 and launch impeachment proceedings in 2019.

But that plan went down in flames because of this Senator.

A Vulnerable Incumbent

Democrats must flip two Republican held Senate seats in order to win back the majority.

They must also hold every single Democrat seat as well.

There are 10 Democrats running for re-election in states Donald Trump won in 2016.

If Republicans defeat just one Democrat incumbent, it will make it nearly impossible for Democrats

to seize power.

Florida Senator Bill Nelson is one of the most vulnerable Democrat Senators in America.

Nelson keeps a low profile in Florida and that means he has low-name recognition despite

serving three terms.

Two-term Republican Governor Rick Scott is challenging Nelson.

Scott's position gives him a high profile statewide, since voters are familiar with

him.

The Governor's job approval is 55 percent according to an April Morning Consult poll.

Scott is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and will spend whatever it takes to win.

Republicans put the full court press on to recruit Scott into the race and were relieved

when Scott said yes.

Nelson Gets Bad News

Nelson faced even more bad news.

In addition to voters liking Scott and his fundraising advantage, key Democrat voting

groups are not fully supporting Nelson.

A Democratic group conducted a poll of Hispanic voters and found Nelson barely led Scott.

Democratic aligned Latino groups surveyed 400 Hispanics and found Nelson clinging to

a three-point lead, 44 to 41 percent.

By comparison, Donald Trump won 35 percent of Florida Hispanics when he beat Hillary

Clinton in Florida.

Scott winning over 40 percent of Hispanics means he is on track for victory in the fall.

Republicans defeating Nelson would slam the breaks on Schumer and the Democrats winning

back the Senate.

2020 Implications

It would be bad news in other ways for Democrats.

Democrats expect to gain seats in the 2018 midterms.

Historically, the party out of power stages a strong showing in midterm elections.

If the Democrats lose the Florida Senate race, it raises serious questions about what will

happen in future elections.

In 2020, Donald Trump will run for re-election.

Pundits expect the political environment to be more favorable to Republicans.

Donald Trump's re-election will boost Republican turnout and voter enthusiasm.

Democrats cannot win the Presidency without Florida.

Experts labeled Florida a swing state.

Barack Obama did win Florida twice.

However, Republicans have held the Governor's mansion since 1998.

Florida is a swing state that is trending Republican.

Rick Scott winning the 2018 race against Bill Nelson could cement that fact.

In addition, a Scott victory would blow up the Democrats chances to win back a majority

and remove Trump.

Scott's strong showing with Hispanic voters is a good sign for Republicans in November.

私たちが普段身につけているあるモノ!・ゲイカップル Why these Items are Important 🏳️‍🌈 (Gay Couple) (#77) - Duration: 9:14.

Hi guys!

It's Seigo & Bren!

And today we would like to tell you about some items we often use!

Right?

But before that,

we have to say

that yesterday

we passed 10,000 subscribers!!

It7s already more than 11,000 now! (11,700 when we were editing this video)

We just recently did a giveaway to celebrate 5000 subscribers!

That wasn't very long ago!

Now its double!

It's double, and now it's over 10,000!

It's all thanks to our fans!

I still can't believe it!

We have viewers from all over the world!

Everyone is sending us messages.

It warms our hearts.

Before we mostly had viewers from Japan, some from the US, and then a little bit from other countries.

Recently we have gotten a lot of subscribers from Indonesia, Taiwan, and other southeast asian countries!

Thank you so much!

It makes us happy!

I wonder how you guys found our videos!

I don't know, but we are so glad you did!

Thank you so much!

Anyway, this time we want to talk bout some items we use daily.

And those items are:

For example...

This!

This is the hat that I wear at work, or just whenever.

You can see that I have some pins on here.

See?

Sorry that the that is so dirty!

Here are the pins.

So I wear this at work, just like this!

We have some on our bag as well!

We got this one at Columbus Pride!

It's the shape of Ohio.

So there is the shape of Ohio, and these 6 colors.

We have one on the computer too.

We got this one at Tokyo Rainbow Pride!

It's from Yahoo.jp

So we put them on things like this.

I would like to briefly explain why we have these six-colored items,

because there may be some people who don't know the reason.

This is taken from Wikipedia.

The rainbow flag, commonly known as the gay pride flag or LGBT pride flag, is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride and LGBT social movements.

Other older uses of rainbow flags include a symbol of peace. The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, as the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride during LGBT rights marches.

So by displaying these pride colors,

it lets people who are LGBT know that they are not alone.

That's right!

Just by wearing these items.

I myself am gay, and when I wear these pride items, it lets people know that I am LGBT.

It let's people know that they aren't alone! I am here too.

I think it has two purposes.

The first one is to wear them so that other people can see them and it gives them courage.

And the second purpose is to raise awareness towards LGBT.

Maybe you'll be in Japan, and someone will come up and say "Whats that mean?"

And you can say "Well, I wear this so that I can encourage people who are LGBT!"

Or maybe "Well, I myself and LGBT."

And then more people start to know about LGBT.

So, thats one way you can use these items.

It makes LGBT more visible.

That's right!

There isn't really a way to know if someone is LGBT, or an Ally, just by looking at them.

But if they have something like this on,

you will know that at the very least, they have something to do with LGBT.

There are many different pins like this.

Some are just the flag,

simple with just the six colors.

There are pins, or stickers.

Or some are like mine, and say "This is me"

Some have this kind of design too!

Using a rainbow.

And this?

From Tokyo Pride.

We got this one at Tokyo Pride

It says "Make Love Not Walls"

It's from back when Trump had just become president...

He was always talking about building a wall between the US and Mexico.

Yeah, so it's a little sarcastic.

Kind of poking fun at Trump.

Let's make love, not walls.

So there are many, many designs,

and you can see many interesting and cute T-shirts, pins, stickers, etc. on the web or at the store!

Lot's of fun!

It's kind of like how some people have a rainbow mark on their Twitter or Instagram profile.

Yeah,

and by having something like that,

we know that they are accepting!

We talked about it in our Ally video,

but there are also Ally pins.

Yes there are.

Yeah!

It is a big A, and I think it was black and white.

I don't remember exactly what it looks like, but it's A for Ally, and then different colors.

There are lots of designs.

So there are lot's of designs, and if you want to, you could find one for yourself on Amazon, etc.!

It's pretty easy to find them! (You can wear them to a pride event too!)

So you can get some, put them on your hats, or bags,

that would be great!

And for people who are LGBT, like ourselves...,

what do you think, Bren, when you see someone who has a pin like this?

I'm happy for sure.

And i definitely feel kind relieved.

It makes me feel like awareness had spread.

I work in a place where i interact with people now,

I often see people with pride pins, or t-shirts, or even tattoos!

When I see them,

I know that I'm not alone!

I mean,

I'm glad when I see that an LGBT person is using pride items,

but when someone who isn't necessarily LGBT has one on their car,

or they have a pin,

I'm like "wow", that's makes me glad.

You feel like you belong.

Yeah!

You feel like you can go one living!

It's a really good feeling.

Like Bren just mentioned, I'll put a picture here of a car with he equal sticker on it.

We have one on our car too.

And equal mark.

It means that everyone is equal! Love is equal.

I think there are many meanings.

So there is a equal sticker, and we have it on our car.

There are a lot of people with it on their car!

There are! We see them a lot.

A lot of people have the exact same sticker.

You can find it online if you want it!

So why not get one!

That's all for this video!
