Fort Lauderdale is a very charming city about 50 minutes from Miami

A lot of people actually fly here when they want

to go to Miami and then they make their way south

In this video, I'm going to show you why you should also

consider spending some time in Fort Lauderdale

Let's go for a drive

Wow, look at all these people

Las Olas beach

This is what Sunday in Fort Lauderdale looks like

I enjoy this oceanfront avenue here because

here you can actually walk or drive and see the ocean

unlike most of Miami Beach

Talking about that, let's go see the ocean

The water is great, but it's so windy that

you cannot really enjoy the beach today

So, plan B

This is Las Olas Boulevard

A lot of nice places to eat and hang out here

This area is about two miles from Las Olas Beach

There are so many canals in Fort Lauderdale that there are even boat taxis here

You can pay for the ride or 28 dollars to ride as many times as you want for an entire day

Look at what these people have in their backyards!

What a lifestyle!

Most cities either have a nice oceanfront or a nice riverfront. Here they have both

Look at this! All these yachts parked here as it's the most normal thing in the world

Fort Lauderdale is considered the American Venice because of the canals

And one of the best things to do here is go for a boat tour. This way you can also see the mansions

Just for the 10 minutes I've been sitting here I've seen more than 10-15 yachts here

Lots of iguanas here, too

The biggest yacht in the world

This house is worth 41 million dollars. Holy!

The Allure of the Seas

The largest passenger ship ever in service. About 100 yards (almost 100 meters) larger than the Titanic

This beach here didn't exist until 2005

It was created by Hurricane Wilma. People got out after the hurricane and voilà! They got a new beach

These yachts are here for rent. Prices starting at 200,000 dollars a week plus fuel

[Guide] We have around 42,000 boats and yachts in the city. That's about 1 boat for every 3 1/2 people

This is the biggest house in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built during the Florida War

This is a conflict in the 1800's

between Native Americans and the United States

One of the forts was located right here

The cheapest you can pay to leave your yacht in this marina is 20,000 (dollars) a month

As soon as the tour started the guide showed us a house and said "this one just sold last month

for 5 million dollars", and everybody... "wow"

And then "this one here, 13 million dollars"

Then "this one here, 31 million dollars" and I'm wondering what's next! And then he showed that one

More than 40 million dollars.This is so crazy

I love the tour, a lot of great information

Am I not saying this is the American Venice? Look at the gondola

But they finished work earlier today

Look at what I just found! Free water trolley!

These signs are outdated though

There's a paper saying that now they operate between 11 a.m and 8 p.m

And from Thursdays to Sundays until 9:00 p.m

If anyone has already used these let me know how it went and if it's worth it

Fort Lauderdale is so charming and I really like how peaceful it is here, you know? The quality of life!

And actually if you're coming to Miami to shop,

it's good to know that a lot of the outlets and malls

are located in this area, north of Miami

First Day At An American University | TIDA - Duration: 8:12.

hi welcome to my channel my name is Tida and I am an

international student at UCI California University of california-irvine and I am

going to show you my first week of orientation so let's get right into it

and by the way yes this is going to be in English and I'm going to continue to

have the vlogs in English because I feel like more people speak English and

understand English then Swedish and I will have subtitles

down below so you just click it down below and you'll find it there and the

other vlog also do have subtitles so let's just get right into it

the first day we got a shirt like this one I have dropped this one so many

times today yeah so I got this one so in here they have a bunch of

different things and they also have this schedule so tomorrow no this is none

this week so tomorrow will be a 20th of September and we will have from 12 p.m.

to 2 p.m. we will have academic success workshop I want to try it

most of these things because I feel like when I was in Sweden I never really did

I know these I've been studying at like in total is 3 different universities and

I have never really been involved in the Student Activities because I don't know

I I've never been interested I don't like it but I feel like that now it's a

very good way to get to know people and also because I want you know I want to

try everything here not everything but most things here so I feel like this is

a pretty good thing to do so I'm going to go to I don't have to do these but I

will the academic success workshop tomorrow and then show shuttle district

at 2 o'clock then into 21st there is a surf lesson it's surfing no but I've

done that so I'm not gonna pay 80 dollars to do that and then on some day

no no no I think it's Saturday they have a tour to San Diego but I'm not going I

don't think anyways and we also have some things here in October we have a

fashion show sunset kayaking that sounds fun hike in Malibu they have a lot of fun things here Comic

Con oh I want to go to Comic Con I think that would be really fun

obviously Halloween I want to do something huge here since because I mean

this is the country of Halloween so I feel like I need to go home

We are at home I mean it does say home furniture, but it's kind of our home right? Since we are a Swedish

am looking for a throw blanket and throw pillows and candy yes Swedish candy

maybe like pizza a small pizza maybe, we'll see! I've been here twice now in

the evening it is actually kind of cozy

it's actually kind of cozy to be here in the evening because yeah people just

walking around and calm I like it

meatballs with mashed potatoes rounds off but I think I'm going to take

a pizza downstairs because I don't really like meatballs but we do not

being around and I've been looking

I've found some potential likes, but I'm not sure yet

So .. we'll see if I'll find something else

I might pick later.

We are done at IKEA and I got Mjukglass (ice cream)

and a hot dog I feel like a child but like a very happy child that's

why they have this so I'm gonna enjoy it

Now it looks good! The color scheme could not have been

better because it's so hard to you know since the rug is like a light beige or a

coffee(latte) color so that one together with this one I wanted it to not look weird

but I think this looks good together like if you just look at these colors

together this team with the brown it works and this is really soft and this

is soft to actually want to buy one of these to my room as well because I think

this will fit in my room as well yeah no but I'm satisfied but I think I'm going

to I think I'm going to double check my schedule and see what there is

for me to do and what I'm going to do tomorrow I am so tired so I think I'm

actually going to sleep now that's actually a good thing because I usually

have a hard time falling asleep oh it's 22:30 next class tomorrow we'll

be at 12 p.m. so I think just a good thing if I go to bed now maybe I'll wake

up and a good time and maybe I could I don't know clean or

something yeah something I don't know I'm really tired so see you tomorrow
