Gaia and I wanted to try and play with the pack of LOL - Create your own soaps
fragrant.
In the package there is a bag with different materials, instructions, a plastic mold
with different shapes and four sheets of cardboard with the pre-cut shapes to make the boxes
gift. The plastic bag instead contains gloves,
satin ribbon, powder coloring, a wooden stick, rose flavoring and a
bag of glycerin flakes.
Soaps should be prepared using the microwave, but since ours is currently out
use, we have dissolved glycerine in water bath. If you do that too, do it
help from an adult.
As per instructions we weighed 20 g of glycerin flakes we put in
a saucepan, which we then put in one a bit 'bigger in which we added
a bit of water. We have prepared it before putting it on fire
the dye diluting it in a cup with a bit 'of water and, once melted, we have
added the aroma to the rose.
Then we turned on the gas and heated the water so that the heat would melt the
glycerin in the saucepan. Be careful though because the dissolved glycerine does not have to be
brought to a boil. With the toothpick of wood we have mixed to melt
all the bits of glycerin, we added the dye immediately mixing well and after
have obtained a homogeneous compound we have made the casting in the mold.
As the soap cooled, we mounted the box folding it along the pre-marked lines.
After a few hours we changed the soap and we realized that we had made some mistakes:
in fact, the soap did not come off easily from the mold and it has ruined all; Furthermore
inside it had remained soggy and sticky. We probably used too much water for it
dilute the dye, so we tried again from head to make the soap, this time
using only glycerine.
We followed the procedure from the beginning, we have carried out the casting in the mold and after approx
3 hours we managed to unmold the soap, that has succeeded very well.
So we decided to try to recover the first soap, the wrong one: we have it
broken into the saucepan, we added 10 g of glycerin, once melted we have it
poured into the mold and after cooling it well we succeeded in this case too
to change it to perfection.
I then wanted to try and make a new one soap, this time tricolor, using
how to shape a silicone mold. I prepared the dye, this time adding
only a few drops of water at a time. After have also added the aroma to the rose, I have
dissolved 40 g of glycerine instead of 20 e I poured about a quarter in the mold.
I added about half to the advanced one of the dye I had prepared, which I have
kept warm by putting the pan back in a bain-marie, but with the fire off.
After about 4 minutes I ran another one quarter of glycerin in the mold and at that
advanced I added the rest of the dye, keeping it still warm.
After another 5 minutes I ran all the remaining glycerine. After cooling
and harden the soap for a few hours, I have it deformed from the mold. Look how beautiful!
