have you ever looked in the mirror and been confronted with somebody in that
mirror that you don't know who it is it absolutely has happened to me and one
day I woke up and saw that and all that time I had been aging and didn't realize
it because I thought I'd look like that but I didn't and it was confronting and
shocking when I realized that my skin was wrinkling that my skin was drooping
and that I was aging so what is a wrinkle what happened why do we get
wrinkles? now a wrinkle is where the skin starts
to depress or drop into a crease and sometimes wrinkles get so deep that they
become scar like so you do need to treat wrinkles as if they were scars there are
other ways to get rid of wrinkles but that's not we're talking about today
we're talking about what is a wrinkle and why do we get them now here is a
schematic that shows you what wrinkle is it shows you a picture of you of young
skin versus mature skin and you can see in that picture how the skin in the
mature skin starts to depress and starts to cave in you can also see how what
happens is that the collagen elastin the harmonic acid the layer of hyaluronic
acid starts to deplete and what happens is that when all of these things start
depleting in our body that's when the skin starts caving in now the reason why
we get wrinkles are varied and many and it would be from medications from
exposure to sunlight from exposure to excessive drinking excessive drugs you
know cigarette smoke and generally not looking after yourself causes wrinkles
now I know that it is a dilemma and I know that it is a gazillion dollar
industry to help people stop wrinkle so the way you can stop them is
obviously by having fillers injections by having a facelift by doing facial
exercises there's a many many many different ways to help support softening
wrinkles some are very drastic and some are very gradual obviously the picture
gives you a representation of our skin and in reality our skin is only very you
know the layers of our actual skin is just minut there are some six layers in
the skin and it's quite a miracle what our skin actually does our skin is the
largest organ on our body and it's designed to keep out the environmental
elements it's designed to also hold in all of our organs and anything else that
needs to be held in it's designed to help hold up our skeletal features our
skeletal system so the skin is truly truly an amazing organism but we do need
to look after it so when you do look at this picture this is a representation of
what the skin is because if I put a real picture of it you know it's pretty
revolting really when you put you know a picture of actual skin so it's good to
have drawings you know because it's much better representation and much easier to
look at but you can see how the collagen and the elastin and there is also a
layer of hyaluronic acid or in our skin and that is depleted over time as well
so what I'd like to show you by this picture to represent it is that there
are six layers of the skin but then it's broken up into three different levels
the first one is the epidermis the second one is the dermal layer and the
third one is the hyper dermal now all of these different layers have different
specific functions of supporting your skin
and each of these functions feed the next function and each of these
functions in these layers hold different levels of compounds that support our
skin looking young now if we don't feed our skin with the proper food with the
proper nutrients this is when you see it caving in and start aging now it is
these days it people are starting to aging at such a young age like they
start aging at even 20 there I start getting puffy they start getting lines
in those puffiness and it does cause wrinkles and this is specifically
because people are not putting the correct nutrients into their body you
know we're like a plant you know imagine if you had a beautiful rose and you
wanted to keep it and make it look gorgeous and feed it and look after it
you have to feed it the proper nutrients it's the same with our body you have to
give it the proper nutrients for our skin and our body to function properly
and because that we are so entrenched in processed food sugar in eating just
awful food these days this is what's causing the premature aging onset it
truly is premature aging all of this stuff is what we're putting into our
body and we're not looking after ourselves so here's another picture and
this picture shows you the actual levels of the epidermis and the epidermis
actually is where the cells are formed at the basal layer of the epidermis so
what happens is that the little cells start growing and as you can see in this
picture here the cells are at the bottom and they're all plumped up and they're
all wonderful and they're all juicy and they're all growing and then as they
push up through the layers of the skin of the epidermis they get flatter and
flatter and flatter until they push right out the very top and then come off
the skin now our skin rejuvenates itself every about every 28 days so what
happens is every 28 days there's new cells coming through the epidermis
coming through and releasing off and it's in that area also
that you need to help that area to be nourished so you need to be maybe taking
some sort of nutrient some sort of vitamins some hair skin nail vitamin
that will definitely help your skin just google it on the internet you know
there's many many and many of them so just google look at the vitamin shop
health healthy skin healthy nails you know whatever and you'll be able to find
something like that but we do need to put these nutrients into our body to
help out to help support our skin so following on from this what you can see
is how the cells travel up now as they travel up through the epidermis what
happens is as they get flatter the water component and the hydration component of
the skin gets less okay and it actually as they flatten and flatten and flatten
to the 30% of your lips depth of your skin there is no water there's no
hydration no water and the reason for this is because we need to have this
layer that's going to be strong and it's going to give this strong layer across
our skin that is going to keep out the elements and that's the reason why we
use moisturizers it's is it also to moisturize the skin but it's actually to
keep out the elements remember in the old days in the 50s when they used to
use ponds barrier cream that's why they called it barrier cream is because it
keeps the elements out now the other thing that really super helps hydrate
the skin is if you do a fissure release now a superficial facial release will
actually hydrate your skin and make it look very jewy here's a link to my
facial released and you will find that if you do that regularly that your skin
will start to glow and it will start to be much more healthier because it will
stimulate your skin to start doing the things that it should be
doing now I'm really encouraged you guys to start eating properly to start
cutting out those refined sugars to start cutting out all the processed
foods that you might be eating and I know it's really difficult because our
Western food is just based on all of that but I really encourage you to start
adding some really good food some fruit and vegetable to your diets and water
look even if you can't drink too much water try coconut water it's so
hydrating and so good for you so there's so many things that you can do to start
supporting your skin health and not having it start caving in like this
picture and not having you prematurely aged you you don't this should not be
happening and it doesn't need to happen to you if you look after your skin
alright guys well I hope that's helped you today I hope it's something that's
been informative and I hope it's something that really encourage and
inspire you to go out and start eating healthfully and start looking after your
skin health all right where you have a lovely day wherever you are in the world
and I'll see you next time bye
