USA news on Youtube Sep 11 2018

I am at a self service gasoline station in Japan with a Lamborghini Aventador.

This is my first time ever pumping gas self service in Japan.

America is almost all self service gasoline stations.

I love Japanese full service gas stations...

But today I am going to try gassing up in Japan for the first time by myself.

What is the proper pronunciation for this gas station?

Eneos

That's a hard one to properly pronounce!!

I can't wait to pump gas by myself into this Lamborghini here at this Eneos station!

By doing this myself, the differences between pumping gas in the USA and Japan should be really clear.

The Aventador gas tank is here.

This gas cap is cool!!

"Lamborghini" is engraved on it.

Very cool!

The gas cap holder is right here on the cover.

This Japanese pump is much different than an American pump.

On this touch screen is where you choose the payment method.

I'll choose credit card.

Don't look at my card!!! LOL

It appears I insert the credit card here...

It accepts IC cards and credit cards...

Wow!! The card is back already!! That's fast!

In America, you have to insert and remove the card yourself. Here it's automatic.

I think I'm choosing the "No" option here...

"Do you have a T Card?" No I don't!

American Express only.

Wow, that was fast!!!!

I love how everything here is digital... touch screen.

American pumps are all analog!!

I choose Premium "Hi-Octane"

"Full Tank"

That is great!! These pumps are really advanced!!

The "Hi-Octane" pump is the yellow one.

This is also different than America! We have Octane analog buttons to push.

This handle is so light!!

This is so Japanese!!!

"Anti-Bacterial Static Elimination" grip!!!

Wow!! and it's so light!!

Inserting it seems to be the same as America...

Let me squeeze this...

Wow!! It's so easy to dispense!

Compared to an American pump where you need to grip hard, this is so easy to use!

This is light, easy to grip and dispenses gas fast!!

Another big difference is that there is no lock for the handle...

You can lock an American pump into position to fill....

That way you don't have to sit there and hold it the entire time!

When you don't have that lock, you just gotta stand here and wait....

wait....

wait....

And with a big tank like this Lambo, it can take a while!!

I also just realized they have this on the pumps too!

"Touch this first"

This is to eliminate static electricity.

Another huge difference is how clean this gas station is!!!

In America we would be surrounded by sticky old gum, dirt, gas and oil on the ground too.

Nobody cleans up anything at American gas stations...

It's not good!!

The Japanese pump is clean and also about double in size than the American pump.

Similar to America, each pump offers Regular, Premium and Diesel as well...

But being able to pay cash at the pump is something America does not have for sure!!!

In America if that option was even available, it likely would be broken!

Even the analog credit card reader on US pumps don't work a lot of the time!!

Receipts don't print many times either!!

Why is it like that!?!?!

This pump is very fast and quiet too!

The animation music and video is cool too!! Very Japanese!

Another difference with American pumps is this swivel connector.

This bends where the hose connects to the dispenser.

It seems like a smart design idea.

The American hose is thicker and straight with no bend to it. It is heavier than this is too.

With this bendable hose it helps work with different shapes of tanks on individual cars.

Pretty simple and smart idea!

I'm pretty sure in America the hoses are straight with no swivel or bend like this.

Japanese really put a lot of thought into little things like this...

even in a gas station pump!!

Very cool!!

Let me put the dispenser back...

OMG! Its done already!!! That is fast!

I am very impressed!

A beautiful clean pump...

super fast service...

I just dispensed 47 liters...

OMG! It's really expensive in Japan!! That is another difference!

Not quite double the USA price, but expensive!!!

It may be expensive, but I enjoyed the opportunity to experience this myself finally!

And to be able to compare the experience here to America was fun too!!

"Attendant Call Button"

This doesn't exist in America...

Even if it does, pushing it will likely get you no help at all!! LOL

No one will come, your receipt won't print, and it wont read your credit card either!!

You definitely can't pay with cash at the pump...

I like the level of detail in these pumps...

In America we wouldn't have static electric touch pads like this...

And the pump is so clean and nicely designed too!

That is the biggest difference for me!

If you've travelled to America before, what was your self-service gasoline experience like?

Leave a comment below please, I'd love to hear from you what differences you noticed.

Subway Is Getting Rid of the $5 Footlong Once Again - Breaking News 247 - Duration: 2:38.

They say history repeats itself, and such is the case at Subway, unfortunately.  The famous $5 footlong deal, which became an instant fan-favorite when it was introduced in 2008 (in no small part due to that aggravatingly catchy jingle), will no longer be available at all locations nationwide, the company's CEO Trevor Haynes told USA Today

Instead, he will allow franchisees—many of whom have complained that the deal is not economically viable in 2018—to decide whether or not to continue with it

"How do we help our franchises with more of a regional value message, so they're able to (have) a value proposition that fits with their economic model," Haynes said

"If you look at California, there's a very different cost of business than in Arkansas

"  : Wendy's Is Giving Out Free Cheeseburgers Every Day for the Rest of the Month  The promotion had previously ceased in 2016 when they increased the price to $6, much to the ire of customers

It returned to its original $5 price in January of 2018.   VIDEO: 8 Meal Options From Your Fave Chain Restaurants That Are 500 Calories or Less  This back-and-forth draws similarities the ongoing saga of the McDonald's dollar menu, which was discontinued in 2014 due to complaints of losses from franchise owners, but returned earlier this year

: Red Lobster Brings Back Their Endless Shrimp Deal for the 14th Year in a Row  In the same USA Today interview, Haynes assured that there would be other deals in stores across the country, like the $3

99 6-inch sub available in the San Francisco area. "Affordable food is what we've always stood for," Haynes said

"It's not just about one price point."

Kellyanne Conway Silenced CNN And MSNBC With Just Six Words - Duration: 4:08.

Kellyanne Conway Silenced CNN And MSNBC With Just Six Words

Left-wing media outlets smear Donald Trump on a daily basis.

Their goal is to destroy and remove the President from office.

But Kellyanne Conway just shut down Trump's liberal critics with just six words.

The Media Loses Its Mind

Anti-Trump journalists celebrated accusations made by former White House Staffer Omarosa

Manigault that the President used racial slurs.

There is no evidence to back up this claim.

But that did not stop the media from providing Omarosa airtime to hurl these accusations.

Trump fought back by blasting Omarosa on twitter.

The President tweeted:

When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess

it just didn't work out.

Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!

Journalists screamed that calling Omarosa a dog was sexist and racist.

However, Trump uses the word "dog" to describe political opponents of all races

and genders.

The Federalist's Sean Davis listed all the many white men Trump has called a "dog."

Davis tweeted:

CNN says Trump is a racist for calling Omarosa a "dog."

Other people he's referred to as dogs: Mitt Romney, David Gregory, Chuck Todd, Steve Bannon,

Glenn Beck, Bill Maher, Erick Erickson, Rjck Tyler, David Axelrod, and Kristen Stewart.

They're all white.

Kellyanne Conway Steps Up

White House Senior Counselor Kellyanne Conway delivered the best response.

In an interview with Fox News, Conway ripped Trump's critics as mainly women on cable

news networks who were jealous.

"I know that people try to get away with saying Donald Trump is terrible to women who

work for him and that he's a sexist misogynist.

Why would I be standing here in front of the White House working in this building if I

didn't think this man was doing great for all Americans and by the way, if I felt that

he wasn't respectful toward women, he's an excellent boss to women," Conway began.

Conway concluded, "It's only some of the women out there on cable news every single

day who are jealous or have no access or look at things through their own Twitter feed and

not through reality who would think otherwise."

CNN and MSNBC filled their airwaves with commentators blasting Trump's harmless remark.

Democrats believe Trump is a racist and sexist.

Liberal media outlets will frame their coverage of every story to fit that narrative.

The media hates Donald Trump.

Journalists view it as their job to defeat Donald Trump.

However, journalists routinely lie to Americans by claiming they don't choose sides but

just "report the facts."

Americans see through these falsehoods and more voters agree with Kellyanne Conway.

Trump's critics are politically motivated hacks who will stop at nothing to destroy

the President.

The media's outrage over Trump calling Omarosa a dog is fake and manufactured.

Liberal cable news networks like CNN and MSNBC are using it only as an excuse to attack the

President.

See The Craft of American-Made Eyeglass Frames | AlanJ | Allen Edmonds - Duration: 4:08.

(mesmerizing music)

- You're surrounded by people all the time,

who tell you that it's a crazy idea.

Or that it can't be done.

Or that it shouldn't be done.

(mesmerizing music continues)

And so there's a lot of really intelligent and wise

people telling you not to do this.

And it takes a lot of gall,

and a lot of idealism to carry on.

And say not only do I believe we can do this,

but I believe that there's a group of people

out there that care enough to really make it work.

And so we kind of went to plan B,

which is try to find somebody in the United States

that knows how to make frames.

(mesmerizing music continues)

When we met Mark and Jason,

we met them at a vision expo.

They had a booth that said 'Made in U.S.A'

- And they said 'so, where you guys making your frames?"

And we said 'you know, here in the U.S'

They're like 'yeah, but where?'

And we said 'in our factory.'

And they're like

'come on, where you really making these frames?'

We said 'in our factory'

- We thought that what we would see when we went out there

from Ventura was like just guys taking sticks and circles

and taping them together and then marking 'Made in U.S.A'

But the quality that they were producing

was really impressive.

And so, we knew these were the guys

we needed to partner with.

- Neither one of us was from the optical industry.

We knew absolutely nothing about eyewear.

It was like a really clean slate.

Really take this company in any direction that

we wanted to take it.

You know, we didn't have years of people telling us

how something needed to be.

And this is how a frame should be made.

- Just because something has been done a certain way forever

doesn't mean that that's the right way.

So we said okay.

We're gonna do this,

we have to do this a different way.

We have to kind of reinvent this.

- The industry had left America

20 some odd years ago and there was no infrastructure here.

No skilled labor, no equipment.

- We then had to set out on trips around the world

to try to find that equipment.

Literally had to get on a plane,

travel to the deepest darkest corners of the world.

Get in a cab, go down these alleys,

knock on a steel door and

hope they made this thing that you're looking for.

- When it came time to name this collection,

the idea behind naming it after my dad was

clearly an honor to him.

We felt like my dad was the perfect embodiment

of how we saw the American Dream.

He was a self-made man, an entrepreneur.

Built a company that now,

literally hundreds of families rely on.

They had the courage to go out and do it his own way.

- There's 72 individual steps.

It can take up to two weeks to make a single frame.

Cause I appreciate those details and I appreciate the effort

and workmanship that goes into any quality product.

And especially something that's hand-made.

Cause somebody's putting their passion,

they're putting themselves into what they're making.

- You just have to care about people

more than anything else.

Not only do we already have

that culture that's trying to put people first.

But now the frames themselves have their own soul.

Our hope is that when somebody picks up a pair of

Alan J frames, that in some weird way,

they can feel that, you know.

When they put it on their face,

that it was made in a special way by special people.

- We care how our quality

and the craftsmanship of the passion

that goes into each and every one of those.

We're okay making less money

on each one of those to do it the right way.

Because that's how it should be done.

We're part of a small, but growing group of companies

that think that same way.

And we're just really proud to be part of that.

(mesmerizing music)

The Craft of American-Made Jeans | Civilianaire Jeans | Allen Edmonds - Duration: 2:46.

♪♪

I've always tried to change things. I never just accepted things as they were.

My name is Gene Montesano and I'm the founder of Civilianaire Jeans.

I might be like amongst the luckiest guys on the planet because this shouldn't of happened and it did.

I started in the clothing business probably 1969 working in a store as a sales clerk. I always questioned why things were the way they were and why didn't they do it differently.

You know mostly, I always heard "it's impossible," "everything is impossible."

So I never listened to anybody. I walked away and went in another direction.

The end of the days '89, I started Lucky Brand.

No matter what was going on, we always broke for lunch and had a good time.

I mean that really came first. And the success enabled us to do that and I think that enabled us to have the success.

And it was cool, you know, it was like very small and the thing took off and it became pretty big.

We sold out in 1999 but I chose to stay in it cause you know, I love it. So I started Civilionaire.

And I have a little factory where I can create something and see it a week later- it moves my needle.

And now everyday is exciting for me.

Some days, I'm five hours in the car. But then you get here and you make the perfect shirt or the perfect pair of jeans or perfect logo t-shirt and you go, "Wow, this is great" I don't want to

ever give that up.

If I didn't enjoy it, there'd be no way I'd do it.

I don't want life to be a grind at all.

I just have always played it to myself- I make something that I want to wear, I eat the food that I want to eat.

We were moving to Santa Barbara and there wasn't a place to have a steak. So, I opened a steakhouse. It's the way I do it. It's probably some kind of a flaw.

I got a phone call from Allen Edmonds saying they'd like me to do this thing and I was really flattered.

The Artisans of Freedom project is a great positive move to celebrate the American craftsmen and to then give back to the future generations of craftsmen coming up.

The American dream is alive and well.

This is still like the Wild West. I mean you can come out here and do it.

When you say, "where do ideas come from?" They can come from anywhere.

They come fast and furious and sometimes, they'e at 3:00 in the morning and sometimes, they're on the way to work.

But they keep coming, thank god.
