Our Review: Saint-Louis, FRANCE and Basel, SWITZERLAND - Duration: 9:31.

The other day we went to three countries on the same day. - Yes. Three of them.

Three. - Three.

Hey everyone! Dana here. - And Stefan. - And today... - We're talking about our

trip to Zurich, Switzerland. - No. Basel. - Basel, Switzerland. - Yes.

We're talking about our trip to Basel, Switzerland, Saint-Louis, France... - Via Germany.

Three countries. - All in one day. We went with our goal in mind to go to Saint-Louis, France to visit a friend of

ours and so we drove from Germany into France checked in our hotel but then we

didn't stay there very long, did we? - No. We directly went to Basel, Switzerland.

Yeah. It was just right over the border and we could just take a bus ten minutes.

Something interesting like you directly felt in a different country going from

Germany into France. Or at least I felt it. - Yeah. - The traffic lights and the pedestrian lights

and the pedestrian crosswalk was different and looked different

then in Germany. - Yeah. And then we went over the border again to Switzerland and it

changed again. - Changed again. - Yeah. - A little bit more like Germany but also

different. - Also different. One thing that I noticed was when we got into Saint-Louis

the signs at the pharmacies were those like neon green signs. - Yes. The crosses that

get smaller and smaller and smaller. - Yeah. - And then get bigger and bigger. - With those

green neon lights. - Yeah. And I have seen them before. - In Spain. - Exactly. - Exactly. So I thought

that was really interesting that the pharmacy signs in France at least in Saint-Louis

reminded me of the ones in Spain, but then when we went to Basel the

pharmacy signs... - Like in Germany. - Were like the German ones, and so... - The red A. - Yeah.

We stayed in France. - We stayed in France. - Because France the same as Germany is on

the euro. - Yeah. - And the prices are quite the same. - Quite similar. Also our friends

were in France. But yeah also... - But because it's so close we could have stayed in Basel.

We could have stayed in Basel. - But we didn't. - But we did not. - They have the Swiss franc and in general it's

quite expensive in Switzerland. - It's expensive. We went into one cafe when we were in Basel,

and it was expensive. - We had three beverages, three hot beverages, and

yeah, the price was just... - It was expensive.

So walking around Basel it was kind of like: no I don't want to eat anything I don't want to

have anything to drink. I can wait until I'm back in France.

But good for you was you understood the people in Switzerland.

Wait. - Almost. - Wait, wait, wait. No.

Let's clarify. As I said in the video where I tried Swiss German, I

did not understand the people. But I felt like I could communicate so...

And the signs. - And I could read the signs, yeah. So in Switzerland I could read signs and

I felt like I could communicate to people in German. I don't know if I could

understand what was being said back. Whereas in France I felt like I could

afford things. I could go out to eat. I could go to a cafe. - But it's all in French.

So there was that trade-off. Like...

Yeah. - In...oh yeah, reading menus. Yeah, in Basel I could read the menus I just

couldn't afford the food. - The French menu you couldn't read. - I couldn't read

but I could afford it. Another difference or interesting thing I guess that I noticed

in Basel was the different colored trams. - Okay. - That's something that I don't

know stood out to me. Like, in Munich all the trams are blue. - Yeah. - And I believe in

Prague they're yellow right? Are they yellow or are they red? They're red, they're red!

And in Berlin they're yellow. - In Berlin they're yellow. - Yeah, so but they're the same color in the city. So in

Berlin the trams are yellow, in Prague they're red, in Munich they're blue, but

in Basel I saw a purple tram. I saw a green tram. I took some pictures I can't

remember all the other colors, but I saw a bunch of different colored trams.

And then another cool mode of transportation we saw in Basel.

We saw it first in the video series Things You Might Not Know. Link in the

description maybe - Uh-huh. - to the video. And it's a ferry that crosses the Rhine River in

Basel but it doesn't use a motor. Just uses the... - The current. - The current of the

Rhine River to move from one side to the other side. - Yeah, actually we saw multiple.

Yeah. There are multiple ferries in Basel on the Rhine River. - Down the river.

What other things did we notice?

Oh yeah! I wanted to mention

this one and Stefan thinks it's a little strange that I really want to mention it,

but it really shocked me. What is it, Stefan? - Fire hydrants.

The fire hydrants. In Saint-Louis, France and in Basel, Switzerland I saw two different

kinds of interesting looking what I think is a fire hydrant that I've never

seen before. They're red so I assume they're fire hydrants. I don't know what

else they are. But they look totally different from anything I've ever seen.

And also probably not that big of a thing but something else that I noticed

was in Basel they also had little Maroni kiosks little, um, roasted chestnut kiosks

like they have in Munich. But I noticed a difference. In Munich they sell them per

amount of chestnuts. So you can buy ten chestnuts or you can buy fifteen

chestnuts. But in Basel they were sold by weight. - Yeah. They were sold by weight. And

because you're still not good at the metric system, you had no idea how much

chestnuts to get because you didn't know how much chestnuts weighed in grams. - Yeah.

But it didn't matter because we didn't take out any Swiss francs anyway.

But you know I also don't just know...if it had said pounds I also wouldn't have known. Like I

can't really imagine how much something is in pounds. And I talked about that

before. That's why I really like baking using cups because it's an amount

that I can see. Like how big is a cup. - It's a volume. - Yeah. I don't know how much something

weighs in anything. Do you know? - Uh-huh. - You can estimate. So like this cup you could

hold it and then guess what it weighs. - Uh-huh. I would say it's like 300 grams

plus the water. - Yeah, with the water in it. How much? - The water, it has 300 milliliters, so it's

300 grams of water. You drank it half.

150 grams of water at least. Because one kilogram of water equals one liter of water...

Just give me your answer so I can go weigh it. - It weighs 600 grams.

I'm going to go weigh this. - Okay. So you weighed it? - I weighed it. It weighs 515 grams.

I'm giving that to you because really I would look at this and go...I didn't drink

out of it! I didn't change it on the way, no. I have no idea how much this weighs

in pounds, in grams. I cannot imagine that. I cannot hold something and imagine

the weight. Please let me know in the comments: can you hold something or look

at something and imagine how much that weighs in any system? Using grams, using

pounds, ounces, anything. - Leave us in the comments. - Yeah. Because I cannot do that.

So this was a mixed video review on Switzerland, Saint-Louis you forgot... - Basel.

What? What did I forget? - Yeah. Basel, Switzerland, Saint-Louis, France. And Saint-Louis

she was craving ribs the whole time. - Oh, that's right. Yeah. Hearing "Saint Louis"

had me craving barbecue. In the U.S. there's also a city called St. Louis.

It's in Missouri. St. Louis, Missouri. I have heard that they have delicious

barbecue there. When I hear "Saint Louis" it didn't matter that we went to Saint-Louis,

France and not St. Louis, Missouri my brain immediately starts craving

barbecue food.

So our question for you is: Have you ever been to three countries or

more in one day? - Yeah. Which countries? - Please let us know... - In the comments below.

Thank you so much for watching. If you enjoyed this kind of

video please let us know by giving a like with the like button. And...

Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't subscribed yet. - Yeah. What days do we put out videos on?

Wednesdays and Sundays. - That is right. And also we would like to give a really,

really, really big thank you so much with a danke drawing to our... - Patrons on Patreon.

Who help make these videos possible. Thank you so much for

your support. If you would like to check out our Patreon page you can find a link

to that... - Down in the description box below.

Until next time, auf Wiedersehen!

So the other day we went to three countries at the same time.

Hold up your three. Wait, we didn't go to three countries at

the same time. - Yes. - On the same day. But not at the same time. We didn't go to a

place where we could stand on them at the same time. - That's true.

Because we would have been in the river.

The whole time. - We're stopping the video now. We eat barbecue now.

Yeah, exactly. - Bye. - Like I need to go eat some barbecue.

2015-2017 F150 Flowmaster American Thunder Dual Exhaust System 3.5L V6 Sound Clip & Install - Duration: 7:47.

The

American Thunder Cat-Back will be for the five-liter truck owners out there who want

that iconic Flowmaster rumble along with a decent amount of volume from a versatile system

that can be configured as a dual split rear exit system, or a dual split side exit system.

Now, this is going to be one of the only systems in the category to deliver this kind of option.

The Flowmaster will also feature a full stainless steel build for the high $600 price point,

and it will get a strong one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter from me since

there is a small amount of cutting needed depending on your cab and bed size, but we'll

have some more info on that later on.

So I'm just going to come out and say it guys, if you want a system that's gonna best embody

that big Ford V8 truck sound and appearance, the American Thunder here should be at or

near the top of your short list.

And speaking of big V8 sound, guys, let's break out my tried and true wake the neighbor

scale, where I do have this sucker coming in at a relatively healthy three out of five

on my one to five or one the wake the neighbor scale.

Now, this system will definitely turn some heads and is all Flowmaster from a sound perspective.

Inside the truck expect the smallest amount to drone between the 65 to 75 mile an hour

range while cruising on the highway in 6 gear, while things are relatively quiet around the

55 mile an hour mark or below.

But outside of this guys, the American Thunder, yes, it's noticeable inside the truck, but

certainly not offensive or boomy.

I will say the big story overall here with this system, guys, is just that iconic red

blooded Flowmaster tone.

Definitely gonna be one of my favorite systems for the five-liter trucks.

But let's break down that sound a little bit more guys, and honestly it's going to be the

direct result of that Flowmaster Super 40 Series muffler that is incorporated with the

American Thunder system.

Now, the Super 40 Series takes what made the original 40 Series from Flowmaster such a

staple in hot-rodding and just essentially made it better overall.

Better flow, a little bit deeper of a tone, richer tone overall especially when compared

to that OG 40 Series.

Now, if you like that signature Flowaster tone but you're maybe gonna prefer a slightly

quieter system overall, I would definitely check out the Force II from Flowmaster instead.

By the way, also available on the site here.

But getting back to the system that is on the table with me currently, you are gonna

be receiving the single 40 Series muffler like we just talked about, single inlet dual

outlet design featuring some internal metal baffles which, of course, you can't see but

I can.

These guys are gonna help shape the sound but without any internal packing which can

sometimes blow out or deteriorate over the years.

Now, the muffler itself is constructed using 16 gauge stainless steel and is then finished

off in the silver paint to help reduce any corrosion over the years.

In addition to the Super 40 Series muffler, that 409 grade stainless steel construction.

Prospective buyers can also look forward to three-inch mandrel bent tubing before the

muffler.

It's gonna replace that factory resonator on your F-150, allow for a little bit more

volume in the process, and then once it passes through the Super 40 Series muffler it's gonna

step down into your two and a half inch mandrel bent tubing before exiting out the three-inch

polished tips embossed with that Flowmaster logo.

I do, again, wanna point out that this entire system, guys, has been constructed from durable

409 grade stainless steel which is a nice balance between durability and affordability.

Listen, those 304 grade systems, they're gonna be a little bit better when it comes time

to reducing corrosion, especially in the saltier climates, but oftentimes they come at a much

higher cost.

The 409 grade stainless like we have here, guys, will be better than the aluminized steel

overall but still be pretty affordable in the big picture.

Again, just south of 700 bones is what you're looking at to get your hands on the American

Thunder here.

But I do wanna quickly spend some time on the versatility of this system from Flowmaster,

as it is unique to the brand, at least at the time of this video, and it does give prospective

buyers the opportunity to change up the look of the exhaust thanks to the included pipes.

Again, just as a reminder, you can mount this as a dual split rear exit system or as a dual

split side exit system, whatever look you prefer.

And one of the nice things about this design is that it's extremely easy to switch while

still on the truck.

You don't have to uninstall the entire exhaust system to do it, instead just simply loosen

up the rear clamps, swap the pipes and the tips and you're good to go.

And since we're talking about swapping stuff, this is a great time to get into the install

a little bit further, guys.

And as I pointed out, depending on your wheel base there might be the smallest amount of

cutting needed to get the system installed onto your F-150.

But even with that in mind I'm still gonna call this a strong one out of three wrenches

on the difficulty meter here, softer one out of the three If you don't have to cut of course,

and maybe an hour or two from start to finish before you're making some noise.

As far as your tool selection here, gang, well, nothing too crazy as you might imagine,

basic socket set will be doing most of your work for you, in addition to that cutting

tool, if required.

I always also like to recommend a little can of spray lubricant to help you with some rusty

bolts perhaps and make their removal and installation slightly easier task in addition to those

rubber exhaust hangers which can be a little stubborn.

First up, you'll need to remove that factory system.

To do so, loosen up the forwardmost clamp, slide the system off the hangers and then

set it down gently.

With the factory system out of the way you can get to work installing that new American

Thunder from Flowmaster, but again make your cut first before hanging the rest of the system.

As always, I do recommend starting from front to back here, snugging things first, including

those clamps, but don't tighten them all the way yet, because this will allow you to move

some things around if needed, making sure there's no clearance issues, things aren't

rubbing on the axle, things like that.

Flowmaster does include a new hanger for the driver side tailpipe which will also need

to be installed at this point as well.

With the system hung and in place, and making sure there's no clearance issues, go ahead

and torque everything down, including those clamps, using your socket set or your impact

gun and your installation is complete.

In closing guys, if you want that tried and true Flowmaster bark for your five-liter powered

rig with plenty of volume, along with the ability to change up the look a little bit,

you'll certainly wanna check out the American Thunder right here at americantrucks.com.
