USA news on Youtube Feb 3 2019

Centuries after the defeat of the Sith Empire in the Great Hyperspace War of 5000 BBY, a

young force sensitive human named Freedon Nadd was accepted into the jedi academy on

Ossus, where he trained under a number of powerful teachers, including Matta Tremayne,

a Master of lightsaber combat, and Odan-Urr who built the Great Jedi Library.

Dreaming all his life of becoming one of the legendary Knights who protected the Republic,

Nadd was hardworking and naturally talented, learning remarkably quickly and demonstrating

incredible skill with the force.

Praised by his instructors and standing out amongst his peers, Nadd was certain he would

soon be granted the title he sought.

Yet while the Masters acknowledged his skill and potential, they questioned his humility

and decided to perform one final test to ensure he was truly committed to the ways of the

light side.

And so, in 4400BBY, when it came time for the Masters to select those apprentices to

be awarded the rank of jedi Knight, Nadd was passed over, in order to see how he dealt

with failure.

Confused and heartbroken by their rejection, Nadd was desperate to learn where he went

wrong and went to master Matta Tremayne for answers.

But rather than help him, she ignored his presence for a time and then refused to reveal

the reason he was not selected.

As she spoke his rage only increased, accusing the Masters of hording secrets to secure their

own power and brazenly declared himself a Jedi, rejecting their authority.

Tremayne then challenged him to a duel to prove the validity of his claim, which Nadd

accepted, brimming with anger and resentment as he fought to keep up with his master.

When at last the student spotted an opening, he swung his lightsaber down and slew his

enemy, yet just before the it struck he noticed that Tremayne made no attempt to stop him

instead flashing a look in her eyes that told him this had all been a test, which he failed.

Devastated by her death, Nadd came to hate the jedi order, blaming them for placing him

in this situation and forcing his hand.

Guided by hatred and pain he fled the planet, and soon set a course for the old sith empire,

determined to become a powerful dark side sorcerer to avenge himself against the Jedi.

Arriving at Ashas Ree, he found the holocron of the Sith purelood King Adas, who unified

the tribes of Korriban in 2800 BBY.

Continuing to explore Sith space, he eventually heard rumors about a dark lord on Yavin 4,

and so made his way to investigate.

When he arrived, he was attacked by the Massassi worshippers of Naga Sadow, the last Dark Lord

of the old Sith Empire.

After engaging him in battle, the Massassi were impressed, and deemed him worthy of being

presented to their master.

Following his defeat in the Great Hyperspace War, Naga Sadow fled to Yavin 4, where he

established a secret base and continued his studies of sith sorcery and alchemy, experimenting

on his Massassi slaves.

After extending his life for centuries, he placed himself into suspended animation; awaiting

the day he might make up for his failure by preparing a worthy apprentice to help form

a new and stronger Sith Empire.

When the Dark Lord was awoken and presented with Freedon Nadd, he saw that such an apprentice

was finally before him, and bestowed his knowledge, revealing the ancient secrets of the Sith

which Sadow had used to devastating effect during the Great hyperspace war.

When Nadd had learned all he needed, he created his own Holocron to preserve his knowledge,

and killed his master Naga Sadow, in order to take the title Dark Lord of the Sith.

Ever eager to expand his knowledge, Nadd became a great collector of Sith artifacts before

conquering the planet of Onderon which he made into a new dark side civilization, steeping

the population in sith culture and lore.

Ruling with an iron fist from Iziz, the planets only city, any who resisted him were exiled

outside their protective walls, to be devoured by the wild beasts which roamed the land.

Yet some of these exiles survived and tamed these creatures to become Beast Riders, leading

to centuries of conflict with Nadd's supporters.

Though his reign lasted for decades, word of a new Dark Lord of the Sith on Onderon

eventually made its way to the Jedi and Republic, leading them send their forces to defeat and

kill Freedon Nadd.

Yet the Dark Lord survived as a Sith Spirit, and the planet continued to be steeped in

the Dark Side, with Nadd's direct descendants ruling in Iziz.

A few centuries later in 4000 BBY, King Ommin and Queen Aminoa both became students of the

Dark Lord, summoning his spirit to train under his instruction.

Yet the couple failed to meet Nadd's expectations, as the Republic soon learned of their Dark

Side connection and joined with the Beast Riders in their war against Iziz.

First they defeated the Queen and her forces, installing a new government, before fighting

and winning a second war against the King who raised another dark side army.

Fortunately for the Dark Lord, the force sensitive royals cousins from the Empress Teta System,

Aleema and Satal Keto were now present on Onderon, as their deep fascination with the

ancient Sith led them the planet where they hoped to find help translating an ancient

text.

When Nadd realized King Ommin was soon to be defeated, he appeared before the Ketos,

in whom he sensed great potential, and named them the heirs to his legacy, giving them

a number of Sith artifacts before they fled.

After their departure the Dark Lord returned to the site of King Ommin's defeat and defiantly

proclaimed that despite the appearance of victory, the Jedi were in fact defeated.

Dismissing his spirit, Jedi Master Arca Jeth and his former apprentice Ulic Qel Droma then

led the effort to cleanse Onderon of the Dark Side and moved the tomb of Freedon Nadd, King

Ommin and Queen Aminoa to the moon of Dxun.

Yet before Qel Droma departed the planet, the spirit of Freedon Nadd appeared before

him, and ominously prophesied that he would one day become a powerful Sith Lord.

Though Nadd and his followers were defeated, his legacy lived on through the Ketos, who

studied the knowledge bestowed upon them, and learned the arts of sith sorcery and alchemy.

Through the Krath, a secret society of their own creation, they trained others in the forbidden

arts and formed a powerful dark side army to embark upon a holy crusade, staging a coup

against the government of their parents to take control of the Empress Teta system, before

going to war with the entire Republic.

During one of their attacks, they killed a number of influential jedi, including Master

Arca Jeth, thereby achieving some measure of vengeance for the defeat of the Naddists

on Onderon.

With the Sith resurgent, the galaxy once again faced the threat of war, not only from the

Aleema and Satal, but also from two others with connections to Freedon Nadd, as Ulic

Qel Droma was enraged to learn of the death of his master and fell to the Dark Side in

his pursuit of vengeance against the Ketos.

The Jedi Exar Kun was the other light side force user who fell to darkness, travelling

to meet the spirit of Freedon Nadd who sent him to Korriban and Yavin 4 to train him as

a sith.

But Exar Kun tired of his overbearing master, and used a sith talisman to blast the Dark

Lord with force energy, destroying his spirit.

Yet before he faded away, Nadd reached out through the force to the ketos, warning them

of Exar Kun, and declaring that Satal, Aleema and Qel Droma were the true heir of his Sith

legacy.

Despite the warning, Satal was soon killed by Qel Droma, who then joined forces with

Aleema and Exar Kun to bring about the devastation of the Great Sith War.

Thousands of years later, as Darth Bane sought to reform the Sith Order, he found the holocron

of Freedon Nadd, but had little skill in Sith sorcery and so could not take advantage of

the knowledge within.

Yet when it came time to train his apprentice Darth Zannah, she used the holocron to master

the ancient arts, which she later used to kill Bane and carry on his legacy.

Motorcycle vs. New York City Taxis - Duration: 5:15.

Where's my horn??!?

It's crowded

It's busy

It's.... FROZEN

But more than anything it's one hell of a ride I have less than five hours of experience

riding a motorcycle on a public street and already I've had my share of

adventures most of them involved the type of

vehicle that New York City is famous for the ubiquitous formidable

YELLOW CAB

just one yellow cab doesn't seem all that intimidating but riding in a sea of

them is another matter entirely

here's Upper Manhattan before rush hour this was my ride up to East Harlem to

visit Cycle Therapy for my motorcycle inspection which I failed but I talk

about that in a different video "I want to get away from these buses"

"there's too much [HONK] going on up there" I want to keep away from everyone as

much as possible especially large vehicles but to a motorcycle every

vehicle with more than two wheels is a large vehicle

"99... WHOA"

"Where's my horn?!?!?"

you saw this cab driver ran me clear into the next Lane good thing that

wasn't a car over there I say where's my horn because in my stressful state of

mind I'm actually hitting the button under my right thumb that's not the horn

that's the electric start button the horn is under my left thumb

come on... UGH that's the [HONK]ing starter! No wonder why

now the truth is the cabdriver may not have even seen me but that's the typical

reality of being on a motorcycle many people don't see you even if they're

looking right at you Ryan f9 has a great video on this called

invisibility training for motorcyclists go over and watch it it could save your

life

that was my lane YAH RAHHT BAHHSTUHDD honestly I don't know what this taxi driver was

thinking I'm clearly in the lane I'm clearly not parked and I didn't have a

blinker on that is I was planning to go straight maybe he thought I was just

taking a nice little rest in the middle of the road convenient excuse huh

same dealio more or less the traffic lights about to turn red and this taxi

driver clearly wanted to save 60 seconds by not stopping and hey that motorcycle

is small enough to go around so why not I guess it's worth mentioning why do I

keep stopping to the side of the lane and 2 car lengths back from the stop

line it's simple I'm trying to reduce the risk of serious

injury or even death from being rear-ended by a driver who isn't paying

attention I learned from Kevin at MCRider one of my favorite motorcycle

safety channels to always give yourself an escape path in New York City that

includes reducing the risk of being pushed into a busy intersection or even

pedestrians clearly New York yellow cabs aren't fond of my self-protection

strategy but wait it gets even better

Honk honk HONK... HONNNNNNNNKKKKKKKK

this motha [HONK HONK] I know it's hard to see but this cab basically tried to pass me

where the road only had one lane of clearance yes I'm definitely looking

over my shoulder at him but you can't tell because my cameras mounted on my

neck brace also the wide-angle camera lens makes the cab look farther away than

it actually was so I leaned over and let him pass what else was I gonna do yeah

the theme of this video was Moto Royali vs. yellow cabs but let's be real

there's only one winner in that game and it's not Moto Royali so if you found this

video interesting entertaining subscribe tap the bell icon hit that like button

and leave me a comment until next time here's Moto Royali signing off

Beginner Sax Lesson 04 How Good Are YOUR First 3 Notes? - Duration: 9:08.

Greetings! I'm pro saxophonist Jamie Anderson. This is Get Your Sax Together -

today's free sax lesson for complete beginners you're gonna learn how to hold

your saxophone correctly and how to play your first three notes. Now, make sure you

stay tuned to the end of this lesson because I'm gonna share my top pro tip

that will instantly give you perfect finger position every time. Or, you could

just do it your own way...

"Never had one lesson"

So, just before we get into it

this free sax lesson is part four of my series for complete beginners. You'll find a

card up there linking to the other lessons in the series. Now, if you enjoy

what you're seeing please do subscribe down below and ring the bell to be

notified when my new lessons come out. I also love hearing from you guys so

please do post comments down below or ask me a question. If you want to get to

know a bit more about me and my life as a pro saxophonist have a look at my

Welcome To My World Vlogs linked on that card up there - full of candid backstage

footage, all very fun and hilarious stuff with top pro tips and tricks and, of

course, the famous blooper reel. So, without further ado, let's JUMP to it!

The first thing to cover is the length of your sling, or neck strap. Make sure that

when you're holding the instrument in a natural position the mouthpiece just

falls naturally into your mouth. You don't want to be having the sling too

low and craning forward like this, or you don't want the neck strap so high that

you're pushing the saxophone up into your mouth like this. So a nice natural

position for the neck strap. So let's cover where you're gonna put

your fingers. Let's do the left hand first. On your sax you're gonna have

some kind of button - metal or plastic - on the back, and your left thumb is just

going to sit on that button covering the octave key, but not pressing it. Now, on

the front you can see that there's one, two, three, four, five different buttons.

Often that front F key will be a gold flat key but whether it's a circular key

with a pearl or if it's a gold flat key we're going to ignore that so your

finger goes to the next button along, which will definitely be a circular button,

and your first finger goes there. Your next finger misses out that small

button, which is called the bis key, and goes to the next key, and then your third

finger goes on the next key. Just make sure you don't hit those side keys with

your palm accidentally. So to recap - thumb resting on the button covering the

octave key but not pressing it, miss the first key and then one... miss the small one, two,

three. And on the right hand, your saxophone will have a hook down here. It

might be black plastic, in my case it's gold, now you're going to put the main

joint of your thumb underneath that hook like that, and then, the right hand's

easier than the left hand, because there's only three buttons to push. One,

two, three. And again, be careful that you don't nudge any of these extra keys down

there. And you can ignore these ones, which are for your right pinky, and you

can ignore all these ones, which are your left pinky, so really we're thinking

much more like a recorder at this stage. Your thumbs aren't going to do anything

and your pinkies aren't going to do anything so for the moment it's only

these six fingers that were concerned with. So the vital thing about your

finger position is that your fingers should form a nice curve, like this, with

your finger tip on the button. Don't press this

knuckle into the instrument like this. you want your finger to have a nice

curve to it and the tip of your finger should be on the button like this. So

what we don't want to see is the fingers pressing down in that kind of shape. They

need to be a nice curve like this. Also, very importantly, the whole thing should

be very relaxed. Don't slump forward like this, don't hunch those shoulders up,

especially the left shoulder is famous and sax plays for going right up here.

That's going to put a lot of tension in your left hand. So, shoulders down, nice

relaxed upright posture and bring the saxophone into your mouth, then we're

ready to play our first notes!

So now, fanfare of trumpets...

...we're finally ready

to start playing our first actual notes on the saxophone! The next video in the

series is going to cover everything you need to know about reading music, written

music, and the previous video covered everything you need to know about the

basics of embouchure, how you have your mouth, teeth and tongue, so go and check

out those videos. Our first note is going to be a G and it is the first three

fingers down of your left hand. One, two three. So we're going to take a nice big

breath in to the bottom of our torso, we've got those first three fingers down

on the left hand, make sure you're not hitting any other keys, and here we go...

Great, so we've got our G. The next note we can learn is called an "A". That is two

fingers, first two fingers of your left hand. So we just take off that third

finger, and that sounds like this...

And finally, the third note is a B, and that is the first finger in your left hand.

So now we have our first three no tes: G, A and B.

And on tenor those first three

notes, that G, A and B are going to sound like this...

So I'm all about getting right into it and getting some tunes going straight

away, so what can we play with those three notes? Well, not that much to be

honest, but we can play something simple like Mary Had A Little Lamb. And

we're gonna start on B. The notes are going to come up on the screen, so this

is what it sounds like on alto...

And on tenor the first little section of mary

had a little lamb is going to start like this, again starting on B.

OK, now remember I promised you that top tip for having the perfect hand position

instantly every time? Well this is the secret - your hand should be a nice curved

shape like the letter C, and your right hand should be exactly the same, so when

you put your hands on the instrument if you look straight down you should see a

letter C with both hands, and the way to remember it is to say to yourself

"can I see a C" make sure you can "see a C", and not a weird little duck's beak!

Next time in part 5 of my complete beginner series I'm going to demystify written

music for you. in the meantime if you've enjoyed the video please subscribe and

ring that bell to get notifications of when my new videos come out, and I'll see

you for more fantastic free sax lessons and fun vlogs next time on Get Your Sax

Together. See you later!

It's over!"
