James Comey Made One Decision That Just Came Back To Bite Him

Former FBI Director James Comey leaked his memos of conversations with the President

in order to force the appointment of a special counsel.

It ended up being the worst mistake of his life.

Comey just got the bad news that his decision to leak backfired in a major way.

Senator Chuck Grassley and other Republicans have long maintained that Comey illegally

leaked documents containing classified information.

Grassley wrote a letter to the Justice Department alleging that four of the seven memos contained

information marked "CONFIDENTIAL" or "SECRET".

After the Justice Department released the memos to Congress, the department's Office

of Inspector General lowered to boom on Comey.

They announced they were investigating Comey for leaking classified information.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

"AT LEAST TWO OF THE MEMOS THAT FORMER FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY GAVE TO A FRIEND OUTSIDE

OF THE GOVERNMENT CONTAINED INFORMATION THAT OFFICIALS NOW CONSIDER CLASSIFIED, ACCORDING

TO PEOPLE FAMILIAR WITH THE MATTER, PROMPTING A REVIEW BY THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT'S INTERNAL

WATCHDOG.

OF THOSE TWO MEMOS, MR.

COMEY HIMSELF REDACTED ELEMENTS OF ONE THAT HE KNEW TO BE CLASSIFIED TO PROTECT SECRETS

BEFORE HE HANDED THE DOCUMENTS OVER TO HIS FRIEND.

HE DETERMINED AT THE TIME THAT ANOTHER MEMO CONTAINED NO CLASSIFIED INFORMATION, BUT AFTER

HE LEFT THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, BUREAU OFFICIALS UPGRADED IT TO "CONFIDENTIAL,"

THE LOWEST LEVEL OF CLASSIFICATION.

THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT INSPECTOR GENERAL IS NOW CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO CLASSIFICATION

ISSUES RELATED TO THE COMEY MEMOS, ACCORDING TO A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE MATTER.

MR.

COMEY HAS SAID HE CONSIDERED THE MEMOS PERSONAL RATHER THAN GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS.

HE HAS TOLD CONGRESS THAT HE WROTE THEM AND AUTHORIZED THEIR RELEASE TO THE MEDIA "AS

A PRIVATE CITIZEN."

MR.

COMEY GAVE FOUR TOTAL MEMOS TO HIS FRIEND DANIEL RICHMAN, A FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTOR

WHO IS NOW A PROFESSOR AT COLUMBIA LAW SCHOOL, PEOPLE FAMILIAR WITH THE MATTER SAID.

THREE WERE CONSIDERED UNCLASSIFIED AT THE TIME AND THE ONE WAS THAT WAS CLASSIFIED CONTAINED

THE REDACTIONS MADE BY MR.

COMEY.

AS FBI DIRECTOR, MR.

COMEY HAD THE LEGAL AUTHORITY TO DETERMINE WHAT BUREAU INFORMATION WAS CLASSIFIED AND

WHAT WASN'T. ONCE HE LEFT GOVERNMENT, HOWEVER, THE DETERMINATION FELL TO OTHER OFFICIALS.

THE FBI DEEMED THE MEMOS CLASSIFIED SOMETIME DURING 2017, ONE OF THE PEOPLE FAMILIAR WITH

THE MATTER SAID."

President Trump has repeatedly blasted Comey as a liar

and a leaker.

Trump and his

supporters have long advocated an investigation into

Comey's criminal conduct.

That process is finally underway.

Investigators continue to peel back the layers of corruption in the Obama-era Department

of Justice.

Their conduct in the Clinton email investigation continues to produce new stories of collusion

and unethical behavior.

In the Inspector General's report—that led to the firing of deputy FBI director Andrew

McCabe—is an account of how one high ranking DOJ official called the Bureau to pressure

them to drop the investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

The Washington Times reports:

"TUCKED INSIDE TVT OFFICIALS SAID IT WAS MATTHEW AXELROD, WHO WAS THE PRINCIPAL ASSOCIATE

DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL — THE TITLE THE IG REPORT DID USE."

Critics contend the DOJ believed McCabe could have been an easy mark because of his wife's

connection to the Clinton political machine.

When she ran for state senate in Virginia during the 2015 election, top Clinton allies

such as Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe funneled $700,000 to her campaign account.

The Times also reports:

"RON HOSKO, A FORMER ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AT THE FBI, WONDERED IF THE CALL TO MR.

MCCABE WAS MADE BECAUSE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS BELIEVED HE WOULD BE MORE SYMPATHETIC

THAN THE FBI'S NEW YORK FIELD OFFICE, WHICH WAS OVERSEEING THE CLINTON FOUNDATION INVESTIGATION.

AS THE ELECTION APPROACHED, QUESTIONS SURROUNDED MR.

MCCABE'S OBJECTIVITY WITH REGARD TO THE CLINTON INVESTIGATION.

HIS WIFE, RUNNING FOR A STATE SENATE SEAT IN VIRGINIA IN 2015, HAD ACCEPTED A NEARLY

$700,000 DONATION FROM AN ORGANIZATION LINKED TO VIRGINIA GOV.

A LONGTIME CLINTON CONFIDANT, MR.

MCAULIFFE CHAIRED MRS.

CLINTON'S 2008 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN.

MR.

MCCABE RECUSED HIMSELF FROM THE CLINTON INVESTIGATION THREE WEEKS BEFORE ELECTION DAY.

"YOU RUN THE RISK OF MORE PUBLICITY BY GOING TO THE FIELD," MR.

HOSKO SAID.

"IF I AM THAT AGENT AND I'VE BEEN TOLD TO SHUT DOWN SOMETHING I'VE BEEN WORKING

ON, I'M SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER."

Critics also wonder if the call – which was believed to have been made by Matthew

Axelrod who was the principle deputy attorney general – was prompted by an order from

Lynch or if she knew Axelrod had taken this course of action.

These questions need answers.

And investigators need to follow the facts wherever they lead.

Without a doubt, water is the most essential resource there is.

Human beings can survive up to three weeks without food.

Under generous conditions, we may be able to last up to a week without water.

But most estimates put it at three to four days in regular circumstances.

This makes it all the more critical for us to verify whether or not the water we're

drinking is truly safe for our consumption.

Water testing kits make it easier, but you can often tell at a glance if your water is

safe and here's how.

Watch out for unusual smells: Before you drink a nice, cool glass of water, take a whiff.

If you notice that it has any sort of smell, put that glass down.

Your water is loaded with contaminants and pollutants – the smells of which can actually

tell you which ones are lurking in your water.

Be extra cautious of the following smells: Chlorine smell: Water that has the strong,

unmistakable odor of chlorine is typically caused by water treatment facilities dumping

in chlorine to inhibit bacterial growth.

Petroleum smell: As per MyTapScore.com, there are various potential reasons why your water

may have a gasoline-like odor.

These can range from agricultural runoff leaching into your local water supply to a leak coming

from an underground fuel storage tank.

Rotten egg smell: The presence of a rotten egg scent can mean one of two things: Either

something has died in your water source or there's an abundance of bacteria.

Turpentine smell: If you sniff out turpentine, that means your water is most likely contaminated

with methyl tertiary-butyl ether.

This colorless, flammable liquid is typically used as a fuel component in gasoline engine

fuel.

Look out for strange sights: By this, we mean take note of your water's appearance.

It should be as clear as possible when held under light.

If your water looks cloudy or comes across as having a weird color then it's no good.

For instance, water that has a brownish or slightly orange color may be that way because

of rusty old water pipes.

Clear water is the best water, remember that.

Perform a taste test: Just a small taste will do.

You should look out for a salty or metallic taste.

According to Water-Doctor.com, salty-tasting water has high amounts of sodium in it while

metallic-tasting water contains elevated levels of iron, manganese, lead, or copper.

The metallic flavor will be especially noticeable if there's too much manganese or iron in

your water.

These are the easiest ways to tell whether or not your water is safe for drinking.

To be extra sure, we highly recommend investing in water testing kits, or better yet, a proven

water filter.

You may be spending a little more than you'd like, but you can't put a price on ensuring

that your water is as clean and as pure as possible.

Water quality is a huge concern for many people and it should be for you as well.

After all, you need water to survive, and the only way to do that is to drink the best

water possible.
