Jeff Sessions Has The Ace Up His Sleeve That Can Bring Down Obama's Deep State

Barack Obama's Deep State has schemed to wreck the Trump administration from day one.

But those days are over.

Jeff Sessions revealed he's been holding an ace up sleeve that could topple Obama's

Deep State.

Sessions announced he had appointed John Huber, US Attorney for the District of Utah, to investigate

the FBI and Department of Justice for abuses of power in obtaining a FISA warrant to spy

on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

Huber is not being appointed as a special counsel.

Republicans in Congress had requested that decision.

But Sessions is letting Huber help with the investigation and that will determine if a

special counsel is needed.

Breitbart reports:

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions sent a letter in reply to a group of leading Republicans

on Thursday, indicating he would not be appointing a special counsel to investigate certain aspects

of the FBI's handling of probes into Russian election interference.

Instead, Sessions announced he would assign regular top-level federal prosecutor U.S.

Attorney John Huber of the District of Utah to assist Justice Department Inspector General

Michael Horowitz in his investigation of issues like FBI bias against President Donald Trump

before and after the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and the Bureau's

relationship with Fusion GPS's ex-spy Christopher Steele.

Huber will have the authority to recommend the appointment of a new special counsel to

prosecute criminal matters if he sees them arise.

The letter, addressed to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Senate Judiciary

Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey

Gowdy (R-SC), explains:

Mr. Huber is conducting his work from outside the Washington, DC. area and in cooperation

with the Inspector General.

The additional matters raised in your March 6, 2018, letter fall within the scope of his

existing mandate, and I am confident that Mr. Huber's review will include a full,

complete, and objective evaluation of these matters in a manner that is consistent with

the law and the facts.

I receive regular updates from Mr. Huber and upon the conclusion of his review, will receive

his recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be

opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or

whether any matters merit the appointment of a Special Counsel.

Sessions further defended his decision to keep the matters formally under the jurisdiction

of the Inspector General's Office (OIG), explaining that, unlike a special counsel,

OIG publicizes misdeeds and damning communications that do not necessarily rise to the criminal

level.

"The Inspector General also may, under appropriate circumstances, make information available

to the public even if no criminal or disciplinary action is recommended," Sessions writes.

"In contrast, this type of information would not normally be publicly available after the

conclusion of a traditional criminal investigation."

Trump supporters should take heart that the allegations of misconduct are being investigated

seriously.

Sessions was not just sitting on his hands while the Deep State ran free.

He appointed a prosecutor to investigate the wrongdoing at the FBI and DOJ.

Now it's just a matter of letting the investigators do their jobs and wait for their findings.

We will keep you up to date on any new developments

in this case.

Trey Gowdy Went On TV And Gave Jeff Sessions Career Ending News - Duration: 12:16.

Trey Gowdy Went On TV And Gave Jeff Sessions Career-Ending News

Attorney General Jeff Sessions continues to sit on thin ice.

Sessions' recusal from the Russia investigation set in motion a chain of events that culminated

with Robert Mueller's appointment.

But no one expected Trey Gowdy to go on TV and deliver career-ending news to Sessions.

Gowdy appeared on Fox and Friends and was asked for his comments on a recent New York

Times story.

The Times had reported that Trump asked Sessions to reconsider his recusal and that Sessions

balked at the President's request.

Trump has long maintained that Sessions should have informed him he was going to recuse himself,

which would have freed Trump up to choose a different Attorney General.

Gowdy agreed with the President and stated that Trump had every right to be frustrated.

"I think what the President is doing is expressing frustration that Attorney General

Sessions should have shared these reasons for recusal before he took the job, not afterward."

While Gowdy rebuking Sessions would have made major news, the real bombshell occurred shortly

thereafter when President Trump tweeted out Gowdy's remarks and ended his tweet storm

by saying he wished he had picked a different Attorney General.

Some Trump supporters speculate Gowdy had an ulterior motive for making these comments.

Many observers believe Trump will fire Sessions once the Mueller witch hunt concludes.

Trey Gowdy has announced his retirement from Congress and supposedly turned down a nomination

for a open judicial seat on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

That leaves Gowdy looking for a job and the former federal prosecutor has stated his desire

to return to the justice system.

To many conservatives, Gowdy's comments about Sessions appeared to be an interview

for the job of Attorney General.

Trump supporters would be thrilled with that development.

Gowdy – along with Devin Nunes – led the charge to uncover the abuse of power in unmasking

Trump officials caught up in foreign surveillance, as well as the use of the fake news Steele

dossier to obtain a FISA warrant against Carter Page.

Trump allies were puzzled by the fact that Gowdy – in this same interview – defended

the FBI running a covert spy against the Trump campaign.

But that was chalked up to a former federal prosecutor wanting to give the FBI the benefit

of the doubt and being misled.

After all, Gowdy's conclusion was not based on actually seeing any documents.

Gowdy attended a briefing where Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher

Wray presented information about the spy and the active measures ran against the Trump

campaign in a manner that made the FBI look good.

At the very least, Sessions has exhausted all goodwill with Trump and his supporters.

Trump approvingly tweeting out Gowdy's slam on Sessions signals that Sessions' days

are numbered and that Gowdy could be a possible replacement.

The Secret Deal That Kept Hillary Out Of Prison Revealed - Duration: 12:16.

The Secret Deal That Kept Hillary Out Of Prison Revealed

Is this the smoking gun that showed how Hillary avoided jail?

The State Department coverup of her call and time logs is being revealed.

Judicial Watch found out that boxes of Clinton documents were given the Obama administration's

OK not to be subjected to Freedom of Information requests.

This includes her time logs, expense and reimbursement forms as well as her emails.

All this was given a pass without any checks and balances.

And worse yet, most of this was given for her time spent in the world's biggest hotspots

in the Middle East.

"Sunshine is the best disinfectant" Professor Alan Dershowitz quoted Justice Brandeis.

Unfortunately, it was not used here.

Fox News reported:

The State Department struck a deal with Hillary Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin that

allowed them to remove electronic and physical records they claimed were "personal" and

"unclassified, non-record materials," according to Judicial Watch.

Some records were deemed to be personal correspondence, but other records that were removed included

Clinton's official schedules and call logs, Ed Henry reported on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

Abedin was allowed to take five boxes of "physical files" out of the State Department, including

records described as "Muslim Engagement Documents," Henry reported.

He said it is not known if the State Department kept copies of the electronic and physical

records that were removed.

"We already know the Obama State Department let Hillary Clinton steal and then delete

her government emails, which included classified information.

But these new records show that was only part of the scandal," Judicial Watch President

Tom Fitton said in a statement.

"These new documents show the Obama State Department had a deal with Hillary Clinton

to hide her calls logs and schedules, which would be contrary to FOIA and other laws."

Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said it's "routine" for former State

Department employees to take materials home that are deemed to be personal, and copies

are typically made of those materials.

"It's worth asking about, but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions," Dershowitz said.

He cautioned against leaping to accusations of criminality, pointing out that's what

many on the left are doing to President Trump in the Russia probe.

On the other hand, Dershowitz said, the government should be disclosing everything in the interest

of transparency unless there is an overwhelming national security reason for keeping it temporarily

sealed.

"Nothing should ever be permanently sealed," he said.

"And I think transparency trumps privacy when you're a government official."

The receipt of gifts by a federal official means this becomes public record.

We assume there may be a "quid-pro-quo" when it comes to political contributions.

That's why we ask candidates to disclose them.

The same applies to gifts to public officials.

When this is deliberately hidden, people need to start asking questions.

Judicial Watch stated:

"We already know the Obama State Department let Hillary Clinton steal and then delete

her government emails, which included classified information.

But these new records show that was only part of the scandal.

These new documents show the Obama State Department had a deal with Hillary Clinton to hide her

calls logs and schedules, which would be contrary to FOIA and other laws," said Judicial Watch

President Tom Fitton.

"When are the American people going to get an

honest

investigation

of

the

Clinton crimes?"

Seoul's FM say U.S. Secretary of State mentioned his willingness - Duration: 1:04.

On the one year anniversary of her inauguration, South Korea's Foreign Affairs Minister Kang

Kyung-wha held a press briefing where she fielded questions, mostly, on North Korea-U.S.

summit and the latest developments in North Korea.

Having talked with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, again this morning, Minister

Kang said the two exchanged details on Pompeo's visit to China and the first general-level

military talks between the two Koreas.

She added that Pompeo was determined to carry out the follow-up measures on their agreement

with the North "speedily".

When asked how South Korea sees U.S. President Trump's comments on Seoul and Tokyo paying

for Pyongyang's denuclearization cost, she said it is thought that all stakeholders will

contribute in various ways.

Minister Kang also mentioned that within this month, the ministry will announce its plans

to make the issue of Japan's sexual enslavement of women during the second World War a grave

human rights issue of the world.
