Hi, I'm John Rafferty president and CEO of CNIB
As we turn a hundred years at CNIB in March
This year I think back to how we were founded
By a number of very courageous individuals that wanted to change what it is to be blind
and
throughout the decades that we've
Been operating we couldn't have achieved what we've done without the amazing work of volunteers
through every period ministry
From the tireless volunteers that advocated to get the point posters voting act
to the volunteers who worked to create the first Eye Van or the first Eye Bank in Canada
We have
Just a myriad of stories and images from our past that are laced with Volunteers of every single stage so on this National, Volunteer Week
We're standing on the shoulders of everyone who volunteered before us
and we thank you for all the volunteer work you do today.
