Project: Doom is a Doom, Doom II and Final Doom remixed music package made by Jay Reichard.
It's made of 57 MIDI songs ready to be used during the matches, divided into three PWADs that are
loaded along with its corresponding game.
I decided to record the entire The Ultimate Doom's E1M1, because its BGM is one of the most remembered
when the subject is the classic Dooms soundtrack. I also used Zandronum 3.0 here.
From what I could hear, the songs have a more metal/hard rock pace.
You will see that there are the Intermission songs remixes, but the titles are missing.
The Map 10's music is also very Doom II characteristic.
There are versions for The Plutonia Experiment and TNT: Evilution as well.
Some songs seem to have gained new introductions. I liked the ones I heard.
The Evilution's, which is f*cking good, could not be left out.
Project: Doom works on Freedoom too (use PRJDOOM.WAD), bringing its Doom and Doom 2 remixes to
this FPS. It's good for those who got bored with Freedoom's BGM.
To conclude, I came here to Map 06 to show the version of "In The Dark", also known as "Seinfeld
Hell Theme" (although the similarity with the show's opening isn't evident in Project: Doom).
It is another very characteristic Dooms' tune, but, since I'm heavily lazy to play this level,
I loaded Brother in Arms and Combined in Arms together so things get relaxed.
I knew Mr. Chris Project Doomed, a Project: Doom's modification. Incidentally, I put Project Doomed
built-in with Doom "Remastered", but the truth is that I'm liking the original better.
I'll probably end up swapping them in some eventual Doom "Remastered" update.
The author of Project: Doom states that this mod shouldn't work with Vanilla Doom versions older than
v1.9 and has been tested with ZDoom 2.1.7. I ran it in GZDoom (1.8.2, 2.4.0 and 3.6.0) and Zandronum (2.0 and 3.0).
I think this PWAD should run on any engine that supports MIDI music.
The original Doom and Doom II songs composer is Bobby Prince. Final Doom songs were created by
Jonathan El-Bizri, Josh Martel, L.A. Sieben and Tom Mustaine.
Well, you can see that you can easily combine Project: Doom with other WADs (depends on how
they use the game's songs on their maps) and get a general idea of the remixes style.
As always, you can get more information and the mod's download in the video's description. Cheers!
