USA news on Youtube Jan 16 2019

The swamplands of Louisiana, USA.

They're the idyllic spot for a cajun country getaway.

Or are they?

Gators, snakes and other dangerous creatures dwell within these marshes.

Yet, local legend tells of something worse.

A predator that craves human meat.

A monster that hunts men, women and children alike.

Legend has it that when you become a Rougarou, you stay one for 101 days.

During daylight hours you may revert to human-form.

But when darkness comes, the monster returns.

Lore of the Rougarou is said to have travelled to Cajun country with immigrants from France

and Quebec.

Its name is a variation of loup-garou, the French term for werewolf.

The creature gets called both.

Some say the Rougarou hunts naughty children, others say it seeks out Catholics who do not

act in accordance with Lent.

Legend has it, one becomes the monster via witchcraft and lycanthropy.

Yet there are ways to defend yourself.

Apparently, this monster cannot count to more than 12.

So placing 13 coins or 13 rocks on your door (or even a colander) will deter the beast.

Legend has it that the Rougarou spell can be broken when another cuts the infected.

Unfortunately, this brave act sees the curse move onto the individual who made the cut.

And so, the Rougarou paradox continues.

Spanish Springs Real Estate Market Report Dec 2018 | Nevada Homes for Sale - Duration: 5:07.

Hi everybody! I'm Phillip Goodman. Hi and I'm Roberta Monroe. And this is the real

estate market report for Spanish Springs December 2018.

We're gonna take a look at another new group of areas in Northern Nevada as

part of our series of market reports. We're going to look at Spanish Springs

which sits just a little bit north of Sparks. So, we're gonna look at the MLS

borders for that. We'll take a look at the December 2018 market activity and of

course our featured property of the month. So let's dive right in. Since this

is our first look at the Spanish Springs market we're going to show you where all

of these borders are. Spanish Springs south connects right here to Sparks then

you've got east and west. Roberta what's different about this area from just

Sparks and what's unique about some of the terrain here? Well Spanish

Springs is truly the epitome of a bedroom community. You have a lot of

family homes, ranches and basically everything is pretty well new and built.

Is this developable territory? Most of those are ranches, ten-acre, forty-

acre properties with big beautiful homes on them. And there's a pretty hard line

here on the west. What is all of this territory to the west? That is part of

the Hungry Valley Indian Reservation Here we are on Market Insights from the

Reno Sparks Association of Realtors and we're only looking at single-family

homes. I did pull up condos; only one condo sold in all three of these areas

all of December 2018. So Roberta take it away.

Units sold in December 2018 are down 13% from November and down 23% from December

2017. There's really no cause for concern here as sales always dip in the winter

and overall we're only talking about five to ten units. Median price took a

small hit at 4% but is still climbing at 10% over last year. Percent of asked

received is a strong 99% which means sellers and their agents are on the

same page about home values. Inventory levels are down about 12% from

November but up 74% from 2017. Months supply of inventory at 2.8

months is holding steady from November yet it has more than

doubled over last year. Looks like with all the activity around the USA Parkway

sellers are trying to cash in on what has become a very desirable part of

Northern Nevada. Here we are on our website seerenohomesforsale.com and

our featured property of the month is 6375 Rey Del Sierra in Sparks which is

technically Spanish Springs, right Roberta? Correct. What can you tell us about

this luxurious home? Well it's a beautiful four-bedroom three-bath at

3,405sqft on a quarter of an acre. Asking

price is $690,000. As you can see it has a beautiful entryway with the decorative

doors and the marble tile; just stunning. Nice arch entry ways into the living

room and dining room area which make it very unique. Beautiful. Roberta the

outside of this property is just as stunning as the inside. Oh absolutely. I

mean these are gorgeous stunning views. What a great place just to sit and

watch the golfers it looks like. Right on the top of the golf course. Mmm hmm and a beautiful

barbecue area. So there you have it that is your first look at the Spanish

Springs area of Northern Nevada Now Roberto like I said you've lived in

that area for 20 years. You've seen the growth. why is that area of Northern

Nevada so desirable? Well it's especially close to Pyramid

Lake which is world-renowned for fishing so there you have a lot of fishermen, fly

fishermen, hunting, camping, everything you can imagine. And it's close to USA

parkway if you work in all of these booming tech industries that are coming

to Northern Nevada. Exactly you have work and excitement on one side so it's

perfect right in the middle. Excellent. Well if you want more

information about anything we've discussed today you can contact Roberta

at the information you see on your screen now. Make sure you give us a like

if you would right now and of course share us on your social media. For

Roberta Monroe and the Nevada Real Estate Group at Keller Williams Group One

inc in Reno Nevada I'm Phillip Goodman. We'll see you next time.

From west coast to west London but will Babel beat THAT Webb tweet? - Duration: 5:45.

With a summer off due to Holland's failure to reach the World Cup, Ryan Babel travelled to California before heading to Miami Beach in Florida, where he started pre-season early

'It's very necessary,' Babel said to the camera in an Instagram video filmed in June

'Next season, no excuses. This season is about to be the best ever. Mark my words

' Now 32, Babel is in the twilight of his career and his return to the Premier League with Fulham paves the way for the Dutchman to remove the sense of unfinished business around his previous spell in England

Make no mistake, he still has something to offer. He may be older and more experienced having emerged from the footballing wilderness with two encouraging years at Besiktas, but he still possesses an eye for eccentricities that helped make his time at Liverpool so memorable

For example, two weeks before he updated his followers about his early pre-season, he shared a picture of himself with a friend stood on the bonnet of their Range Rovers in Beverley Hills

'We parked the cars literally in the middle of the roads to make this picture,' Babel wrote with a laughing emoji

'Others were just driving by like it was nothing.'From the west coast to west London in six months, Babel arrives at Fulham with six goals in 20 games for club and country in 2018-19, although they all came in his first nine matches

He has not found the net since September but has a respectable scoring record in Turkey with 28 goals in 76

Babel's time at Besiktas has seen him settle. He played well and often, even featuring in the Champions League last season and has been a regular in the national setup with a resurgent Holland, where he has over 50 caps

It didn't always look like being this way. After leaving Liverpool in January 2011, his career waned with spells at Hoffenheim, Kasimpasa in Turkey, Al Ain in Abu Dhabi and Deportive La Coruna in Spain

He still operates predominantly as a left-winger, despite insisting during his four years at Anfield that he would convert to a striker

Babel had many inspiring moments at Liverpool. He helped turn a Champions League quarter-final second leg in Liverpool's favour against Arsenal, coming on in the 78th minute to win a penalty and then scoring himself in the 90th minute

He also demonstrated his prowess from long range with stunning Champions League goals against Chelsea and Lyon but struggled to nail down a regular place

Of his 91 Premier League appearances at Liverpool, only 31 were starts.'I soon figured that in the Premier League they call you a flop very quick,' Babel said years later in an interview with The Independent

He arrived at Liverpool in 2007 with heavy praise on his shoulders after Holland boss Marco van Basten said Babel could be the new Thierry Henry

He had just produced a man-of-the-match display in the Euro under 21 final, where Holland beat Serbia 4-1

If that was the height of his potential, he never lived up to it and off the pitch

Babel seemed to produce other moments for which he is still best remembered for outside of Merseyside

In 2008, he appeared in a rap video with musicians Darryl, Ali B, Soumia for a song called 'Eeyeeyo'

But the most notable was after Liverpool were beaten by Manchester United in January 2011

He tweeted a picture of referee Howard Webb wearing a United shirt, saying 'And they call him one of the best referees? That's a joke

' He was fined £10,000, the case being somewhat of a landmark hearing in English football with the use of social media a relatively new fad at the time

With his hair now dyed red, Babel will stand out in whatever capacity if he makes his debut against Tottenham on Sunday

But if he spearheads a Fulham survival between now and May, he could earn more time in the Premier League

With The Cottagers five points adrift, he needs those hard yards in Florida to pay dividends quickly

If they do, Babel will be well worth watching.
