After 7 months of rehab because I broke both hands on the road, I went to Madrid.
In Madrid, the bicycle parts, the bicycles and the flights to Liberia are cheaper.
I have bronchitis and I am doing the check-in. Let's going to see if there allow me to go with my hand bag because it's really heavy.
Guess what! In Air Europe they gave me 3 seats because I have a hand with reduce movements.
I arrived at Madrid. It's 5 AM. Am I going to sleep? No. I'm going to ask for the Liberian visa.
Look what I have… The Panniers! From Velotransit (USA brand)!
They are incredible!
They are big. I have a lot of space.
They are waterproof and they have a special compartment for my laptop!
This is a bag. They told me I was asking too much liters…
They are beautiful, are they?
Of course, I met some friends and I went around the city.
We are going to learn some English with Mark Wallace.
Zapatos… Hello Mark!
I don't hear the difference!
This is a normal car and this I don't know what it is but I like it a lot.
It have four wheels but it is for only one person.
I record first and after you can record.
Hello to everyone! I am with one of the person that made me to continue the trip by bicycle and not by motorbike.
He has a lot of cool things regarding bikes. His world is the bike.
And philosophy.
And philosophy because he is a philosophy teacher.
I assembled the bike with Javi, from @biciconalas. He is making a Youtube channel called "El Gurú de la Bici" that is going to be really cool. Thank you Javi!
Today I am going to assembly the bike. I arrived one hour earlier and it's super cold. But I need to wait here with this rain…
After 15 minutes someone let me go in.
There is nothing more confortable that the Indonesian way of sitting. Ideal for waiting. You should try.
Here, they have a used bike that could work for me.
What do you think about? It's a steel bike.
How is your web page?
Bici con Alas, and soon: Elgurudelabici.com.
What are you going to do there?
I'm going teach how to fix a bike. To you, so you will don't need a mechanic in Africa.
But professional?
Professional, amateur… To anyone that wants to have the hands a little bit dirty.
This guy is really cool, follow him!
I'm taking out the stickers.
It should be easier this way but I think I need to do it for a longer time…
I finished!
No. You need to reach the 3th.
It's on 3!
No.
I finished! I finished!
I also went to a one day course of basic bicycle mechanics in Rutas Pangea.
We are going to learn a little bit of everything. Basic mechanics to survive on the road, like some people…
I also met Noe Casquet, a friend of mine, who tried to give me an electric dildo…
Could you please tell me where I'm going to plug it in on the tent? There isn't dildos for tents yet…
For Africa on a bike…
I love you!
I love you too!
This is hilarious…
When I finished to assembly the bike I took a flight to Monrovia, Liberia. I stopped there last time because of the accident.
I started the trip by bicycle on the same country.
The guy helped us because my box is too big.
I have too much things.
28 kg and I need to drop it in a different place.
I needed to pay for the bike's box.
I am at Morocco now, waiting for the next flight.
My plan is to arrive at Monrovia, assembly the bike at the airport and if nobody give me a lift I will go to the city by bike.
Can I do it?
I am in Liberia! In a wooden house like the Mississippi ones.
On the flight, I talked to a German guy that told me I was crazy because I wanted to go from the airport to the city by bike.
So he gave me a lift at 4 AM.
We are at a restaurant.
The bicycle is still a mystery. I put it out the box, I assembled it and placed the panniers.
Everything is ready but I should actually ride the bicycle. Let's see if I can do it.
