Winnie Mandela South African anti apartheid activist dies at 81 - Duration: 2:11.
Winnie Mandela, South African anti-apartheid activist, dies at 81
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid activist and former wife of
the late President Nelson Mandela, has died at the age of 81.
The family said in a statement that she passed away at the Netcare Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg,
South Africa after a long illness, for which she had been in and out of hospital since
the start of the year.
"Mrs. Madikizela-Mandela was one of the greatest icons of the struggle against apartheid,"
the statement said.
"She fought valiantly against the apartheid state and sacrificed her life for the freedom
of the country."
Madikizela-Mandela was known as the "Mother of the Nation" because of her struggle against
white minority rule in South Africa.
She was married to Nelson Mandela for 38 years, including the 27 years he was imprisoned on
an island near Cape Town.
"She kept the memory of her imprisoned husband Nelson Mandela alive during his years on Robben
Island and helped give the struggle for justice in South Africa one its most recognizable
faces," the statement said.
The couple were divorced in 1996, two years after Nelson Mandela became South Africa's
first black President.
They had two daughters together.
Nelson Mandela died in 2013.
A longtime stalwart of the ruling African National Congress political party, Madikizela-Mandela
was a member of South Africa's parliament at the time of her death.
Although the activist, who suffered from diabetes, saw the rise of a new, more equitable South
African political system during her lifetime, she was also entangled in controversy over
the years.
Madikizela-Mandela was convicted of kidnapping in 1991 and fraud in 2003.
South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission accused her of involvement in human rights
abuses during the apartheid era.
Her family said Monday that it would release details of her memorial and funeral services
once these have been finalized.

Inside the Decade Long Russian Campaign to Infiltrate the NRA and Help Elect Trump - Duration: 3:32.
Inside the Decade-Long Russian Campaign to Infiltrate the NRA and Help Elect Trump
In November 2013, the president of the National Rifle Association, David Keene, was introduced
as an honored guest at the conference of the Right to Bear Arms, a gun lobby in Moscow.
"There are no peoples that are more alike than Americans and Russians," Keene said.
"We're hunters.
We're shooters.
We value the same kinds of things."
Keene underscored his friendship with Alexander Torshin, a top politician in the ruling party
of Vladimir Putin; for the past three years, Keene said, "I've hosted your senator Alexander
Torshin at the National Rifle Association's annual meetings."
In words that now carry a darker connotation, Keene insisted, "We need to work together."
Torshin, now 64, is a roly-poly politician, perhaps five feet six, with thick glasses
and a passion for borscht "like medicine!" he once tweeted.
A member of Putin's right-wing United Russia party, he served in the Russian senate for
more than a decade, forging close ties to Russia's internal security service, the FSB,
which awarded him a medal in 2016.
His embrace of Keene, says Steven Hall, who served as chief of Russian operations for
the CIA until 2015, was about more than forging "an international brotherhood of the NRA."
As part of Putin's "active measures," Hall says, Russia has attempted to influence right-wing
and populist factions abroad, preaching unity around social conservatism: "'We're both religious-based
countries we have the Orthodox Church that's a big deal for us.'?"
The Russians, Hall believes, "made a natural transition in the United States to the NRA";
over time Putin became determined to exploit the American gun lobby "and decided Mr. Torshin
is going to be the guy to do it for him."
Keene proved an easy mark.
A career lobbyist who advised presidential candidates from Ronald Reagan to Mitt Romney,
he was a longtime chair of the American Conservative Union, which organizes the annual CPAC convention.
NRA board member Grover Norquist has praised Keene as "a conservative Forrest Gump" who's
been at "the center of all things conservative for decades."
Keene, with a sweep of white hair, owlish glasses and a patrician bearing, might move
in cutthroat political circles, but friends say his personality runs against type.
"He's like a teddy bear," says Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation,
who has known Keene for decades.
"He's not hard-edged at all.
He's a gentleman."
(Keene did not respond to multiple interview requests.)
Torshin and Keene forged a quick friendship.
"Just a brief note to let you know just how much I enjoyed meeting in Pittsburgh during
the NRA annual meeting," Keene wrote in a 2011 letter later obtained by anti-corruption
activists in Russia.
Extending a personal invitation to the following year's event, Keene added, "If there is anything
any of us can do to help you in your endeavors?.?.?.?please don't hesitate to let us know."
Torshin's "endeavors" included a plan to back a gun-rights group in Moscow.
"We will start organizing our own Russian NRA," Torshin soon tweeted.
The NRA president seemed flattered, seeing Torshin as a powerful Russian eager to build
a gun organization that mirrored his own, and even secured a Russian translation of
the NRA charter.

The Latest White House among 'potential venues' for summit - Duration: 1:38.
The Latest White House among 'potential venues' for summit
The White House has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump invited Russia's Vladimir Putin
to Washington.
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday that the White House was among "a number
of potential venues" Putin and Trump discussed during a March 20 telephone conversation.
Huckabee Sanders said: "As the President himself confirmed on March 20, hours after his last
call with President Putin, the two had discussed a bilateral meeting in the 'not-too-distant
future' at a number of potential venues, including the White House."
She says the administration has no further comment on the matter.
___
5:45 p.m.
An aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin says U.S. President Donald Trump has invited
the Russian leader to the White House, but the two countries haven't started any preparations
for such a visit.
Trump and Putin had a telephone conversation on March 20 in which Trump congratulated Putin
on winning the Russian presidential election two days earlier.
The White House and the Kremlin said at the time the two presidents discussed meeting
in person.
Putin aide Yuri Ushakov told Russian news agencies on Monday that Trump specifically
invited Putin to the White House during the call.
Ushakov added that their governments didn't have time to start arranging a meeting before
the United States joined Britain and more than two dozen allies in sanctioning Russia
over the nerve-agent poisoning of a Russian ex-spy in England.

On Easter Sunday, Trump threatens to end DACA and 'stop' NAFTA - Duration: 2:50.
On Easter Sunday, Trump threatens to end DACA and 'stop' NAFTA
President Donald Trump loosed a series of hard-line immigration statements on Sunday
after wishing his Twitter followers a "HAPPY EASTER!"
He was seen entering a church moments after the tweets posted.
Trump declared there would be "NO MORE DACA DEAL," referring to an Obama-era program that
protected millions of immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children,
and called on congressional Republicans to pass tougher immigration policies because
the U.S. border with Mexico is "Getting more dangerous."
In the tweets, Trump wrote that "Mexico is doing very little" to keep migrants from crossing
into their country from the south or from then crossing into America.
"They laugh at our dumb immigration laws," he said. The president added that "Border Patrol
Agents are not allowed to properly do their job," blaming Democrats.
He also claimed, without providing context, that "'Caravans' coming."
"Fox and Friends" aired a segment earlier Sunday with right-wing commentator Tomi Lahren
that claimed onscreen: "CARAVAN OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS HEADED TO U.S."The president went
on to threaten the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and call for a border wall.
"They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA.
NEED WALL!" he tweeted.
Trump reiterated his views as he stopped to speak to reporters before entering church
for Easter services.
"A lot of people are coming in because they want to take advantage of DACA and we are
going to have to really see," he said.
"They had a great chance.
The Democrats blew it.
They had a great, great chance, but we'll have to take a look."
Democrats disagreed.
"Time and time again, the president has walked away from bipartisan proposals that are exactly
what he asked for," said Drew Hamill, spokesman for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
"When an agreement to protect the Dreamers is reached, it will be despite this president
rather than with his leadership."Prior to the Sunday tweets, Trump and Congress had
attempted to negotiate a deal on DACA, or the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
program.
Trump ended the program late last year but said he would protect Dreamers, as DACA recipients
are known, in exchange for approval of funds to build a border wall between the U.S. and
Mexico.
Mexico would pay for it, he claimed on the campaign trail.
"Mexico has got to help us at the border," Trump said outside church Sunday, as he stood
next to his wife, Melania, and his daughter Tiffany.
"If they are not going to help us at the border, it is a very sad thing.
We need two countries.
Mexico has got to help us at the border."

London murder rate beats New York for month as stabbings surge - Duration: 2:03.
London murder rate beats New York for month as stabbings surge
London became a bit more like New York City in February, but it's not a distinction to
be proud of.
The city of Big Ben and the tube overtook New York in murders for the first time in
modern history as the British capital dealt with a surge in knife attacks.
The Sunday Times reported 15 people were murdered in London, against 14 in New York.
Both cities are very diverse with large populations: London has over 8.7 million residents to New
Yorks 8.5 million.
In March, according to the British publication, there had been 22 killings in London versus
21 in New York.
A massive decline in crime has helped to transform New York City: In 1990, of 2,245 people were
murdered.
Last year, however, that number dropped nearly 90 percent to 290 murders.
The total number of murders in London has fluctuated over the years, but its risen
by 38 percent since 2014.
EX-RUSSIAN SPY POISONING A 'NEW ERA OF WARFARE,' UK OFFICIAL SAYS
The Sunday Times reports that FBI data and crime studies show that since 1800 London
has typically had a murder rate per person of between half and a 20th of New Yorks.
Including January, London still has fewer murders so far this year 45 against 55
and its total in 2017 was also lower.
But the gap has narrowed in recent years.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said websites and mobile phone applications
such as YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram were partially to blame for the bloodshed, the
Evening Standard reports.
Deadly stabbings in England and Wales are now at their highest levels since 2011, rising
by 12 percent in the year ending December 2017.

In English #14FF Mindfulness...... تمرينات الوعي العقلية - Duration: 7:21.
Greetings everyone
welcome to a new episode of Fit Fa6oom Show with me Fatimah Aljawi
if this is your first time watching me
Do not forget to watch the promo to understand what's going on
and do not forget to share your challenges with me
on the hashtags down in the description box, either on Twitter or on Insta
This week exercises are mental practices more than physical
the info I am going to provide about is a drop in a bucket
This episode's exercise is going to be about Mindfulness
so many studies and researches proved that Mindfulness practices
affect positively on productivity, creativity, and concentration
It also proved that it decreases anxiety, and improves sleeping habits
It also proved that it has a positive affect on self-control,
emotional intelligence, inner peace, easiness, forgiveness
and much more of great benefits
Talking some terminology here
Honestly, the Arabic dictionary let me down this time
and the reason is not the dictionary fault,
But because this practice is newly rooted from another practice
The closest Arabic translation for Mindfulness is awareness or realization of the current moment
or whatever is happening "at the moment "
and there is a difference between mindfulness and meditation
since meditation is the umbrella that covers mindfulness
meaning that when speaking about mindfulness, we are speaking about a branch of the multiple branches in Meditation
Mindfulness is a self-help tool
could be done in a group or individually
It could be done in five minute,
could be done in an hour or 10 days
honestly, since there are many practices within mindfulness,
I chose 4 practices for you to vlog and there are many others
Let's see these practices
Hi everyone
Today's practice requires calmness and quietness
I am not gonna shout for any excitement
the practice is called Mindfulness , will translate it later
I know it should be quite , you need to shut up and practice
This is what I can deliver for now, come with me
What the heck just happened ?
I slept, this is what I am sure of
not only me
everyone else did
it was kinda a guided meditation
just like someone is whispering in your ears so you go to sleep
just like a devil talking to you LOL
It was a good nap
see you later
Today's practice would be a lay down , JK
it is Mandalas coloring practice, a mindfulness practice as well
see how the sit up looks like
and I am done
you wanna see my coloring?
here we go, not the best, but cool
haven't colored for ages
and this is it for the practice of the day
see u later
hi again and welcome
It
is a weekend and got three hours break only
only 3 hours XD
and since I cannot not to be restless, would just die of such a thing LOL
so I decided to do a mindful breathing with you guys
and I am gonna show you how, u gonna need your phone and a headset
and to be quite, I just turned the laundry machine for some quietness
let's see how
Mindfulness is a practice, you need to do it again and again so you can start seeing some benefit
Mindfulness practices are not only done in classes
you can practice mindfulness home, while you breath, walk, listen, do daily routines or chores and much more
an example that I have experienced,
I would say when listening to a 30 minutes lecture,
we usually grab the most benefit after listening to the lecture 7 times
But if we are listening mindfully, we would need to listen to it once
and as I mentioned before that Mindfulness is a self-help tool
I linked you some websites in the description box that has much to know about this practice
and more of its different styles that you can apply on your daily basis
also there are many apps on either GooglePlay or App Store
that provide u with different practices and for free
and u can check YouTube for many videos for the same purpose
Till this moment this is the end of my episode of this week
Share with me down below in the comment section if this is your first time getting to know about mindfulness
or let me know if you have done them and what you have practiced before
If you like the episode, give it a thumbs up
and sub and click the bell to get the weekly notification
don't forget to share me your experience on twitter or instagrm's hashtag
See u next episode , Peace

CNN mocked for glorifying JFKs 'legendary' infidelity after harping on sex allegations against Trump - Duration: 4:00.
CNN mocked for glorifying JFKs legendary infidelity after harping on sex allegations
against Trump
CNN was slammed for hypocrisy over the weekend when the network glorified President John
F. Kennedys many infidelities after spending significant coverage painting President Trump
as a monster for an alleged affair that occurred prior to his political career.
While promoting The Kennedys, CNN hailed the 35th president's legendary love life,
before asking, Did one of his affairs connect him with the mob? The tweet featured video
detailing JFKs relationship with actress Judy Campbell, who was allegedly intimate
with the head of the Chicago mafia while also having an affair with the president.
Hypocrisy at its finest, one user responded.
Author Joshua Kendall responded that legendary love life is a poor choice of words because
it makes JFKs infidelity sound glamorous and attached a link to a recent Los Angeles
Times op-ed headlined, JFK may have been a worse philanderer than Trump. Does it matter?
Daily Caller media reporter Amber Athey quoted CNNs promotional tweet and wrote, Thats
certainly an interesting way to describe having numerous affairs while president. I think
we need to get Anderson Cooper on this to find out if JFK was wearing a condom.
After seeing the promo, pundit Stephen Miller sarcastically channeled his inner CNN and
asked, Why does no one take us seriously when we constantly talk about Trumps behavior
with women?
Cooper, who is CNN's biggest star, had sat down with both Playboy playmate Karen McDougal
and porn actress Stormy Daniels in recent days to ask detailed questions about their
alleged affairs with Trump. CNN has spent significant time analyzing all aspects of
the alleged affairs including questions about intimate details.Respected DePauw University
professor Jeffrey McCall penned an op-ed for The Hill Friday headlined, CNN lost its
way in struggle to find an audience, slamming the CNN Worldwide Jeff Zuckers networks
obsession with women who have been friendly with Trump.
CNNs warped obsession with reporting about supposed adultery demonstrates a larger
problem at the once-proud and groundbreaking channel, McCall wrote.
McCall also noted that CNN mentioned McDougal and Daniels more often than the recently passed
government spending bill, adding that the bill isnt photogenic, and therefore
not as critical to the Zuckers vision for the network as Playmates and porn stars. But
was JFKs love life really legendary? In actuality, JFK was an awful person in the
bedroom who certainly would have been labeled a sexual predator in this #MeToo moment,
Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro wrote, linking to a 2012 Daily Mail story detailing
the time Kennedy forced an intern to publicly perform oral sex on his assistant in the White
House pool.
Remember, this is the same network currently shellacking President Trump for bedding a
porn star while married, and hosting her on the air to ask about Trumps condom use,
Shapiro added.
Mediaite columnist Joseph Wulfsohn asked, If CNN thinks JFK's love life was "legendary,"
does that make Trump's alleged affair with Stormy Daniels "legendary" as well? Because
their coverage isn't exactly favorable.FK was an awful person in the bedroom who certainly
would have been labeled a sexual predator in this #MeToo moment'
- Ben Shapiro CNNs hypocrisy was noticed by plenty of
people outside of the media industry, too. One user wrote, This is legendary but you
go after people today for it? Another added, To CNN, if its a Kennedy or Clinton,
its his Love Life If its a Trump or GOP, he is a womanizer.
Other responses included, Legendary? Holy hypocrisy. Absolutely unreal how two sided
this CNN news is, and if that had been Donald Trump you'd have nailed hum
to the wall.
I am actually stunned that they would use the word legendary when referring to
adultery, a follower added. What depths of moral indecency has our modern society
has plummeted to?
Zucker, who helped increase Trumps star power by greenlighting The Apprentice
when he was an executive at NBC, has seemingly installed an anti-Trump programming strategy.
The result has been a president of the United States who often refers to CNN as fake
news, and a network filled with anchors who dont exactly hide their disdain for
Trump.
On Monday morning, Trump mocked CNN on Twitter as dishonest
