All right, and something kind of cool is here in San Francisco right now.
It is the Ghibli pop-up shop San Francisco, and it was just randomly found by Lynn.
It is being sponsored by Kinokuniya, the Japanese bookstore.
And...
...it is here in San Francisco, until I believe March 18th.
They have limited availability.
Meaning you need to actually kind of
either make an appointment, or set...
...some time to actually go,
to their Eventbrite page and...
...get a ticket. So that you could attend.
They only allow so many people in per day, and the tickets go fast.
I remember Lynn was, when she was trying to get the tickets, a little while back
that every time she pressed the "Confirm the Information," it would say that it was
actually filled up. And then she'd try to get the next hour later, and next hour
later, and we actually got the last time of day to get into the store. It was from 5 to 6 p.m.
Surprisingly enough, we went on the
Sunday of the first weekend...
...and they are actually sold out of stuff.
Which I should say...
"...the stuff that they're selling is 'limited quantity items'."
So, what one of my buddies was looking for, was a, kind of,
3D theater type item, that
had all these sheets of paper that would line up in a cardboard box, and create a
3D setting of a scene in
one of the Ghibli movies. It was really cool, but
once they sell out. They sell out, and they only do it per area so maybe if it
goes to a different city. We could try that again. Aside from those things they
had all sorts of different cool items that were reminiscent of
the Ghibli stores kind of in Japan like in the Mosaic Mall in Kobe, or in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan.
The items they have there were really like kind of unique and really
neat figurines, and as well as the stationery. They had post-it
notes, and pencils, and pencil cases.
As well as she had wearables. The whole
shirts, and jackets, and purses.
So there was a ton of different, really cool items
that were available to you. And the part that I was more interested in was the
blu-ray and books section. Which they had to the side.
I loved the fact that they
had all these stickers on the wall. So there were it really did make it feel
like a Ghibli style store. Rather than where it was actually located.
So, one of the lucky things, I guess, about the store is that it was right across the street
from AT&T ballpark. Which is about a 20-minute drive from where I'm at, and it
was being held inside a Toto toilet
showroom. They're the ones from Japan
that make the heated toilet seats with the bidets built-in.
Really, really awesome product, but...
...nowhere did I associate Toto with Ghibli, but...
...whatever. It's a pop-up shop and they needed the space. So...
That was a real cool area to have it.
And they did transform the showroom. It did look like a really cool...
they had like the the mother tree in the middle.
That they set up with product on it and...
as well as, like I said before, the stickers on the wall.
To really kind of just...
...show off the...
...the Ghibli side of things.
But overall it was a real good time.
There was a ton of different limited items that you could get there.
And I highly recommend looking to see if they're gonna be near you.
The final thing, that at least the pop-up shop here, in San Francisco, is doing
is that they are offering a few kind of prizes
if you just tweet or Instagram
photos of the shop.

But yeah, it was a real good time, and I suggest that if you
are here in the city, or nearby in the Bay Area. Or if
it... You should search it to see if it's in a going to be coming
to a city near you.
To go ahead and check it out. Like I said, it's a free event and...
there's only cool things that you could see in there.
And you don't have to go to Japan to get it. So...
...not that going to Japan to get it would be a bad thing.
...but yeah...
