USA news on Youtube Mar 6 2018

We went to Punjab to bring two sides together folk music and all those instruments and live

musicians and DJ swami who is going to be producing the music

and bringing the electronic elements out.

We were resident in the city called Ludhiana and to me the most interesting

part of that residency was the talent that these musicians have and how the collaborations

could come together. Yes we are looking at the journey of Punjabi music in the last 100

years but we want to be real to this day and age as well so its really interesting

to see what actually's happening in Punjab. So that process of being in a studio and a

rehearsal space with these musicians and listening to what they can deliver was just absolutely amazing.

We have some fantastic musicians lined up

Vijay Yamla, Vijay plays a range of instruments

like Tumbi which is a one string instrument and the larger version of the Tumbi called

Tumba which is again a one string instrument, Alghoza which is a double flute it's a very

interesting instrument because you need a circle of breathing to play this. Bugchu which

again is a string instrument and he could also play a Dhol he could play Dholak he can

sing I mean this guy is super talented. The other collaborators are Dheera, Dheera Singh

who is Sarangi player and he also plays another instrument called dud so those are kinda Dheera's

two main instrument and he can sing as well. The third musician we have is Naresh Kukki

and Naresh is one of the most talented Dhol players in Punjab right now

He can play Dhol, he can play Dholak

so these musicians willbe collaborating on a number of folk tracks

you know 'Jugni' 'Mirza' 'Heer' 'Challa' I mean these are the songs and

folk stories that have been performed over centuries.

And these musicians have grown in the Punjabi folk music for a very long time, somebody

like Vijay who is the grandson of Jamla Jatt has grown up in a musical family

what's really interesting is their going to be bringing that Punjabi folk music heritage side

We're really excited that we can bring the best of the

Punjabi folk music instruments and the musicians.

A day at the low-carb clinic - Duration: 1:41.

So there's an underlying insulin resistance that can occur

especially if someone is weighing 264 pounds.

And this is about a 5 foot gentleman so until that insulin resistance--

Well, we believe until that insulin resistance is fixed,

you may still have to have treatment for diabetes.

But he's on a lot less insulin.

They're saving money in many cases, $500 a month now being spent

if your insurance is covering this,

they're happy about that too, not having to pay that.

So this person is still on insulin after six months.

So it's not that everyone is going to come off, but they're going in that direction.

It's kind of like... I am known for crazy metaphors, you know,

it's kind of like people are put on an escalator, people with diabetes.

And the weight, how much people weigh is the elevation on the escalator.

And once you get on it it's actually pretty easy.

I mean doctors give you medicine, you eat really nice things,

but then suddenly you look over and you're halfway between the floors on the escalator

and you're going up, still going up and that's scary.

So the first thing to do is to stop the escalator, teach people how to do this,

and then have them start walking down the other direction.

And it may not be overnight, there's a lot of support that needs to happen,

but to just be able to give people the choice, the option of doing this would be huge.

Don't you think? Just give them the choice!

Yeah, right.
