Hello everyone, my name is Tom Barendregt.
Last year, September 4th, I was diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia.
A serious form of blood cancer.
On September 10th, 2016, I turned 18 in the hospital
while I had leukemia.
I went through intense chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
In the end, I still needed a stem cell transplantation.
I received that on March 15th.
Stem cells from an unknown donor.
I can now continue doing what I enjoy doing the most:
playing ice hockey.
